इन्द्र॒ पिब॑ प्रतिका॒मं सु॒तस्य॑ प्रातःसा॒वस्तव॒ हि पू॒र्वपी॑तिः । हर्ष॑स्व॒ हन्त॑वे शूर॒ शत्रू॑नु॒क्थेभि॑ष्टे वी॒र्या॒३॒॑ प्र ब्र॑वाम ॥
इन्द्र॑ । पिब॑ । प्र॒ति॒ऽका॒मम् । सु॒तस्य॑ । प्रा॒तः॒ऽसा॒वः । तव॑ । हि । पू॒र्वऽपी॑तिः । हर्ष॑स्व । हन्त॑वे । शू॒र॒ । शत्रू॑न् । उ॒क्थेभिः॑ । ते॒ । वी॒र्या॑ । प्र । ब्र॒वा॒म॒ ॥
हे इन्द्र त्वं प्रतिकामं ये ये कामास्तांस्तान्प्रति । अव्ययीभावसमासः । तस्य स्वरः । यथेच्छं सुतस्य अभिषुतस्य यो भागस्तुभ्यं दातव्यस्तं पिब ॥ आमन्त्रितस्याविद्यमानत्वेन पादादित्वादनिघातः ॥ प्रातःसावः प्रातःसवनेऽभिषूयमाणः सोमः तव हि । तृतीयार्थे षष्ठी। त्वयैव पूर्वपीतिः प्रथमत एव पातव्यः । यद्वा । प्रातःसावः । सप्तम्याः सुः । प्रातःसवने तवैव प्रथमपानं खलु । ऐन्द्रवायवग्रहे ह्यादित एवेन्द्रः पिबति ॥ तत्पुरुषे दासीभारादित्वात्पूर्वपदान्तोदात्तत्वम् । यद्वा बहुव्रीहिः ॥ ततो हे शूर समर्थ त्वं शत्रून् हन्तवे हन्तुं हर्षस्व हृष्टो भव । अथ ते त्वदीयानि वीर्या वृत्रहननादिलक्षणानि वीर्याणि उक्थेभिः उक्थैः शस्त्रैः प्र ब्रवाम प्रकर्षेण वदाम ॥
“Drink, Indra, at will of the effused libation, for it is poured out at the morning sacrifice, and is first drunkby you; exult, hero, in slaying your foes, we will glorify your heroic exploits with hymns.”
DRINK of the juice, O Indra, at thy plea. sure, for thy first draught is early morn's libation.
Rejoice, that thou mayst slay our foes, O Hero, and we with lauds will tell thy mighty exploits.
Indra, drink of the pressed soma at your pleasure, for the Early-Morning Pressing, the first drink, is yours.
Excite yourself, to smite the rivals, o champion. With hymns we shall proclaim your manly deeds.
Nach Lust, o Indra, trinke von dem Safte, dein erster Trunk ist ja die Morgenspende; Sei voll Begier, o Held, den Feind zu tödten, durch Sprüche woll'n wir deine Thaten preisen.
Indra, trinke nach Lust vom Soma; denn dein ist die Morgenpressung, der Ersttrunk. Freue dich darauf die Feinde zu erschlagen, o Held! In Liedern wollen wir deine Heldentaten verkünden.
О Индра, пей выжатый сок, сколько захочешь:
Ведь утреннее выжимание – твое первое питье.
Возбуждайся, о герой, для убийства врагов!
В песнях мы хотим провозгласить твои подвиги.

यः । ते॒ । रथः॑ । मन॑सः । जवी॑यान् । आ॒ । इ॒न्द्र॒ । तेन॑ । सो॒म॒ऽपेया॑य । या॒हि॒ । तूय॑म् । आ । ते॒ । हर॑यः । प्र । द्र॒व॒न्तु॒ । येभिः॑ । यासि॑ । वृष॑ऽभिः । मन्द॑मानः ॥
हे इन्द्र मनसः अपि जवीयान् अतिशयेन गन्ता ते त्वदीयः यः रथः अस्ति तेन रथेन सोमपेयाय अस्मदीयं सोमं पातुम् आ याहि आगच्छ ॥ ‘पा पाने'। भावेऽचो यत् । ‘ ईंद्यति' इतीत्वम् । आर्धधातुकलक्षणो गुणः । कृदुत्तरपदप्रकृतिस्वरत्वम् ॥ तथा ते त्वदीयाः हरयः रथे संयुक्ता अश्वाः तूयं क्षिप्रम् आ आभिमुख्येन प्र द्रवन्तु प्रगच्छन्तु । वृषभिः सेक्तृभिः येभिः यैरश्वैः मन्दमानः मोदमानः सन् यासि गच्छसि। ‘ हरी इन्द्रस्य ' (नि. १. १५. १) इति वचनादिन्द्रस्य द्वावेवाश्वाविति न चोदनीयम् ' आ त्वा सहस्रमा शतम्' ( ऋ. सं. ८. १. २४ ) इत्यादिनिगमान्तरे दर्शनात् ॥
“Come, Indra, to the Soma-drinking with your chariot, which is swifter than thought; let your bays, thevigorous steeds with which you go along rejoicing quickly, hasten hither.”
Thou hast a car more swift than thought, O Indra; thercon come hither, come to drink the Soma.
Let thy Bay Steeds, thy Stallions, hasten hither, with whom thou cornest nigh and art delighted.
Your chariot that is swifter than thought, Indra, with it drive here for soma-drinking.
Straightaway let your fallow bays run forth here, with which bullish ones you drive while in exhilaration.
Zum Somatrunke komm mit deinem Wagen, der rascher ist, o Indra, als Gedanken, Schnell mögen deine goldnen Hengste laufen, mit denen du voll Lust zu uns herbeikommst.
Dein Wagen, schneller als der Gedanke, auf dem komm, Indra, zum Somatrunk! Deine Falben sollen rasch herlaufen, die Hengste, mit denen du berauscht fährst.

Приезжай на ней для питья сомы!

हे इन्द्र हरित्वता ॥ हरिच्छब्दान्मतुपः ‘झयः' (पा. सू. ८.२.१०) इति वत्वम्॥ हरिद्वर्णयुक्तेन सूर्यस्य वर्चसा तेजसा तत्सदृशैः श्रेष्ठैः प्रशस्यतमैरात्मीयैः रूपैः तन्वम् आत्मीयं शरीरं मदीयं वा । यद्वा । तायत इति तनूर्यज्ञः । तं स्पर्शयस्व । तेजोयुक्तं कुरु । किंच सध्रीचीनः । ‘ विभाषाञ्चेरदिक्स्त्रियाम्' इति खप्रत्ययः ॥ मरुद्भिः सहाञ्चनस्त्वं सखिभिः सखिभूतैः अस्माभिः हुवानः आहूयमानः सन् निषद्य यज्ञे निषण्णो भूत्वा मादयस्व । सोमपानेन हृष्टो भव ॥
“Decorate your person n with most beautiful forms with the golden radiance of the sun; invoked by usyour friends, Indra, sit down and be exhilarated, accompanied by the Maruts.”
Deck out thy body with the fairest colours, with golden splendour of the Sun adorn it.
O Indra, turn thee hitherward invited by us thy friends; be seated and be joyful.
Cause your body to be touched by the golden luster of the sun, by its fairest forms.
When you are invoked by us, your comrades, Indra, in common with us, become exhilarated upon sitting down—
Bedecke mit dem goldnen Glanz der Sonne und mit den schönsten Farben deinen Leib dir; Von uns gerufen setz dich, Indra, nieder, berausche dich vereint mit uns, den Freunden.
Laß deinen Leib vom goldigen Glanze der Sonne, von den schönsten Farben berührt werden! Von uns Freunden angerufen, Indra, berausche dich mit uns gemeinsam, dich hinsetzend!

हे इन्द्र इमे मही महत्यौ रोदसी द्यावापृथिव्यौ यस्य ते तव सोमपानेन जनितेषु मदेषु संभूतं त्यत् तं महिमानं न अविविक्तां न पृथकुरुतः किंतु यस्य महिम्न्येव तिष्ठतः ॥ ‘ विचिर् पृथग्भावे' । जौहोत्यादिकः । लङि ‘ संज्ञापूर्वको विधिरनित्यः' इत्यभ्यासस्य गुणाभावः । यद्योगादनिघातः ॥ प्रियेभिः प्रियतमैः रथे युक्तैः हरिभिः अश्वैः प्रियं प्रीणनकरम् अन्नं सोमलक्षणम् अच्छ अभिलक्ष्य तदोकः अस्मदीयं यज्ञसदनम् आ याहि आगच्छ ॥
“You whose greatness (manifested) in your exhilarations the vast heaven and earth, do not separate;come, Indra, with your beloved bay horses harnessed to your chariot, come to our dwelling to (partake of) the(sacrificial) food that is agreeable to you.”
O thou whose grandeur in thy festive transports not even these two great worlds have comprehended.
Come, Indra, with thy dear Bay Horses harnessed, come to our dwelling and the food thou lovest.
You, in the raptures of exhilaration, whose greatness these two great world-halves did not encompass—
Indra, drive here to this home with your yoked fallow bays, to the dear food with the dear ones.
Du dessen Grösse bei den Rauschgelagen die beiden grossen Welten nicht umfassen, O Indra, komme her zu diesem Hause zum lieben Mahl mit deinen lieben Füchsen.
Du, dessen Größe dann in deinem Rausche diese beiden großen Welthälften nicht faßten, komme zu diesem Heim, Indra, mit den angeschirrten Falben, den lieben zu der lieben Speise!

हे इन्द्र पपिवान् ॥ पिबतेः क्वसौ ‘वस्वेकाजाद्धसाम्' इतीडागमः ॥ सोमं पीतवांस्त्वम् अनानुकृत्या अनुकरणरहितेन सकृत्प्रहारेण शत्रुहननसमर्थेन रण्या सांयुगीनेनायुधेन। रणशब्दात् साध्वर्थे प्राग्घितीयो यत् ॥ यस्य यजमानस्य शत्रून् शश्वत् बहुवारं चकर्थ हतवानसि ॥ ‘ कृञ् हिंसायाम् । लिटि थलि यद्योगादनिघाते लित्स्वरः ॥ सः यष्टा ते त्वदर्थं तविषीं महतीं पुरंधिं बह्वीं स्तुतिम् इयर्ति प्रेरयति ॥ ‘ऋ गतौ ' । जौहोत्यादिकः । ‘अर्तिपिपर्त्योः' इत्यभ्यासस्येत्वम्। 'अभ्यासस्यासवर्णे' इतीयङ् ॥ हे इन्द्र सुतः अभिषुतः सः सोमः ते मदाय समर्थो भवति । यद्वा । स यष्टा सुतः सोमः । सुब्व्यत्ययः । अभिषुतं सोमं त्वन्मदाय प्रेरयति ॥ ॥ १२ ॥
“That Soma, drinking constantly of which, Indra you have destroyed the enemies (of the worshipper)with an inimitable weapon-- that Soma prompts your powerful, abundant (laudation), it is effused Indra, for yourexhilaration.”
Pressed for thy joyous banquet is the Soma, Soma whereof thou, Indra, ever drinking,
Hast waged unequalled battles with thy foemen, which prompts the mighty flow of thine abundance.
Having drunk of it time after time, Indra, you have done in your rivals, have done inimitable joyous [/martial] (deeds).
It rouses your plenitude and power; Indra, it is pressed for your
exhilaration—the soma!
Nach dessen Trunk du, Indra, an den Feinden stets unerreichte Kampfesthat vollbracht hast, Der regt dir an die Fülle deiner Kräfte, der Soma ist zum Rausch gebraut dir, Indra!
Nach dessen Trunke du, Indra, immer wieder die Feinde erschlugest und unnachahmliche, erfreuliche Taten vollbracht hast, der regt deine Freigebigkeit und Kraft an, dieser Soma ist dir zum Rausche gepreßt, Indra.

हे इन्द्र ते त्वदर्थं पात्रं चमसादिकं सनवित्तम् । अस्माभिश्चिरादेव लब्धम्। ‘ विद्लृ लाभे ' । कर्मणि निष्ठा । हे शतक्रतो बहुकर्मन्निन्द्र एना एनेन पात्रेण सोमं पिब । यतः मदिरस्य मदकरस्य मध्वः मधुनः सोमस्य आहावः पानस्थानीयपात्रविशेषः पूर्णः पूरितोऽभूत् ॥ ह्वेञ् स्पर्धायाम्'। ‘ निपानमाहावः' (पा. सू. ३. ३.७४) इति निपातितः । स्तुतिभिराहूयमाना देवा अत्र सोमं पिबन्तीति । थाथादिस्वरः ॥ यम् इत् यमाहावमेव विश्वे सर्वे देवा: अभिहर्यन्ति अभिकामयन्ते । ‘ हर्य गतिकान्त्योः । भौवादिकः । यद्योगात्तिङो निघाताभावे ‘ तिङि चोदात्तवति' इति गतेर्निघातः ॥
“This your cup, Indra, has been long since provided by us, drink the Soma from it, Śatakratu; thegoblet is full of the sweet Soma, which all the gods desire.”
Found from of old is this thy cup, O Indra: Satakratu, drink therefrom the Soma.
Filled is the beaker with the meath that gladdens, the beaker which all Deities delight in.
Here is your cup acquired of old, Indra: drink soma with it, you of a hundred resolves.
The trough is full of exhilarating honey, which all the gods delight in.
Hier, Indra, ist dein längst erworbner Becher, aus diesem trink den Soma, kräftereicher! Mit süssem Rauschtrank ist gefüllt der Eimer, aus dem sich alle Götter gern erlaben.
Diese Schale ist seit alters dein Besitz, Indra; trink den Soma daraus, du Ratreicher! Der Trog ist voll des berauschenden Süßtranks, auf den sich alle Götter freuen.

हे इन्द्र वृषभ कामानां वर्षक हितप्रयसः । प्रय इत्यन्ननाम प्रीणनकारित्वात्। संभृतहविष्काः जनासः जनाः पुरुधा बहुधा । हिरवधारणे । त्वाम् एव वि ह्वयन्ते विविधमाह्वयन्ति ॥ ‘ह्वेञ् स्पर्धायाम् । निसमुपविभ्यो ह्वः' इत्यात्मनेपदम् । अस्माकं स्वभूतानि इमा इमानि सवना सवनानि ते त्वदर्थं मधुमत्तमानि अतिशयेन सोमवन्ति भुवन् अभवन् । तस्मात्त्वं तेषु सवनेषु हर्य सोमान् कामयस्व ॥
“Indra, showerer of benefits, men in several plural ces, offering acceptable food, invoke you; these oursacrifices to you are most full of the sweet (Soma); take plural asure in them.”
From many a side with proffered entertainment the folk are calling thee, O Mighty Indra.
These our libations shall for thee be richest in sweet meath: dvink thereof and find them pleasant.
Because the peoples, with their pleasurable offerings set forth, vie in invoking you in many ways, bullish Indra,
ours will become the most honeyed ones for you—these pressings here. Delight in them.
An vielen Orten rufen zwar die Menschen, Held Indra, dich zum Mahl, das sie bereitet; Doch diese unsre Tränke sind von allen die süssesten für dich, an ihnen lab' dich.
Denn dich rufen die Leute vielfach, Indra, bei vorgesetztem Schmause, o Bulle. Unsere Trankopfer hier sollen dir die süßesten sein; an diesen erfreue dich!

हे इन्द्र ते त्वदीयानि प्रथमा आदितः कृतानि पूर्व्याणि पुरातनानि च वीर्या वीर्याणि नूनम् इदानीं प्र वोचं प्रकर्षेण वदामि। एकः प्रशब्दः पूरणः ॥ वोचम् । लुङि ब्रुवो वचिः । च्लेरङ् । कानि तानि । सतीनमन्युः । सतीनमित्युदकनाम । उदकाभिवर्षणबुद्धियुक्तस्त्वम् अद्रिं मेघम् अश्रथयः वज्रेणाहिँसीः । ब्रह्मणे बृहस्पतये गां पणिभिरपहृतां सुवेदनां सुष्ठु ज्ञापनीयाम् अकृणोः अकरोरित्यादीनि ॥
“I will proclaim now, Indra, your ancient first-achieved exploits; resolved to sent rain, you did cleave thecloud, you made the cow easily discoverable for the Brāhmaṇa”
I will declare thy deeds of old, O Indra, the mighty acts which thou hast first accomplished.
In genuine wrath thou loosenedst the mountain so that the Brahman easily found the cattle.
I will proclaim your previous heroic deeds, proclaim now those first performed.
You, of real battle fervor, made the stone give way; you made the cow easy to find, for the sacred formulation.
Ich rühme, Indra, deine frühern Thaten, ich rühme nun, die du zuerst vollbracht hast, Mit wahrem Eifer löstest du den Felsen und schafftest schönen Rindbesitz dem Frommen.
Ich will deine früheren, ich will jetzt deine erstgetanen Heldentaten verkünden, Indra. Du, dessen Eifer echt ist, machtest den Felsen mürb, du machtest für das zauberkräftige Wort die Kuh leicht zu bekommen.

हे गणपते त्वं गणेषु स्तोतृगणेषु सु सुष्ठु नि षीद । स्तुतिश्रवणार्थं निषण्णो भव । यतः कवीनां क्रान्तप्रज्ञानां मध्ये त्वां विप्रतमम् अतिशयेन मेधाविनमिति आहुः । किंच त्वत् ऋते ॥ ‘ अन्यारादितरर्ते• ' (प, सू, २, ३, २९ ) इति पञ्चमी ॥ त्वां वर्जयित्वा किं चन कर्म आरे दूरे समीपे वा न क्रियते । तस्मान्निषीद । ततो हे मघवन् धनवन्निन्द्र महां महान्तम् अर्कम् अर्चनीयमस्मदीयं त्रिवृत्पञ्चदशादिलक्षणं स्तोमं चित्रं नानारूपं कृत्वा अर्च पूजय । विधेहि ॥ ‘ अर्च पूजायाम् । भौवादिकः ॥
“Lord of the companies (of the Maruts), sit down among the companies (of the worshippers), they callyou the most sage of sages; without you nothing is done in the distance; have in honour, Maghavan, our greatand various adoration. of wealth, (the wishes of) your friends; make war (for us), you warrior endowed with real strength, give us a sharein the undivided riches.”
Lord of the hosts, amid our bands be seated: they call thee greatest Sage among the sages.
Nothing is done, even far away, without thee: great, wondrous, Maghavan, is the hymn I sing thee.
Sit down, Lord of Throngs, amid the throngs. They call you the most inspired of the wise poets.
Without you, at a distance from you, nothing whatever is accomplished. Chant a great brilliant chant, bounteous one.
Sitz nieder, Herr der Scharen, bei den Scharen; man nennt dich ja den weisesten der Seher; Ohn' dich wird nichts gethan, auch in der Ferne; drum sing' ich dir das grosse Preislied, starker!
Setz dich fein nieder, du Herr der Schar, unter den Sängerscharen; dich nennen sie ja den Redekundigsten unter den Sehern! Ohne dich und fern von dir geschieht nichts. Stimme den hohen, wunderbaren Gesang an, du Gabenreicher!

हे मघवन् धनवन्निन्द्र नाधमानान् ॥ ‘ नाधृ नाथृ याञ्चोपतापैश्वर्याशीःषु । भौवादिकः । अनुदात्तेत् ॥ याचमानान् नः अस्मान् अभिख्या अभिख्यापनेन तेजसा युक्तान कुरु। प्रसिद्धान् वा कुरु। । हे सखे धनदानेन हे वसुपते वसूनां स्वामिन् त्वं सखीनां स्तोतृत्वेन सखिभूतानामस्माकं स्वभूतानि स्तोत्राणि बोधि बुध्यस्व ॥ ‘ बुध अवगमने'। भौवादिकः । लोटि छान्दसः शपो लुक्। छन्दस्युभयथा इति हेरार्धधातुकरत्वेनाङित्त्वात् ' अङितिश्च ' इति हेर्धिभावः। अत एव गुणः। सार्वधातुकत्वेन ङित्त्वादन्तोदात्तत्वम् । वर्णलोपष्छान्दसः ॥ हे रणकृत् शत्रुभिः सह युद्धकर्तः अत एव हे सत्यशुष्म यथार्थबलोपेत त्वं रणं कृधि कुरु । शत्रून् जहि ॥ करोतेर्लोटि ‘ श्रुशृणुपॄकृवृभ्यश्छन्दसि' इति हेर्धिः ॥ किंच अभक्ते चित् असंभजनीये स्थानेऽपि अस्मान् राये धनाय आ भज भागिनः कुरु । ' द्व्यचोऽतस्तिङः ' इति संहितायां दीर्घः । ॥ १३॥ ॥९॥
Aim of our eyes be thou, for we implore thee, O Maghavan, Friend of friends and Lord of treasures.
Fight, Warrior strong in truth, fight thou the battle: give us our share of undivided riches.
By watching over us, who are in need, bounteous one, become a
comrade to your comrades, o lord of goods.
Do battle, you battle-doer [/make joy, you joy-maker] whose impetuous powers are real. Give us a portion of wealth, even in what is (as yet) unapportioned.
O sieh auf uns, die flehenden, o mächt'ger, der Freunde Freund sei du, o Herr der Guten, Lustschaffer, schaffe Lust uns, wahrhaft starker, und theil uns zu noch unvertheilten Reichthum.
Auf uns, die Schutzsuchenden, blickend, o Gabenreicher, gedenke, o Freund, deiner Freunde, du Schätzeherr! Bereite ein Kampffest, du Kampfbereiter von echtem Eifer; gib uns einen Anteil auch an dem noch unverteilten Reichtum!
