ऋषिशासो भारद्वाजः

शा॒स इ॒त्था म॒हाँ अ॑स्यमित्रखा॒दो अद्भु॑तः । न यस्य॑ ह॒न्यते॒ सखा॒ न जीय॑ते॒ कदा॑ च॒न ॥
शा॒सः । इ॒त्था । म॒हान् । अ॒सि॒ । अ॒मि॒त्र॒ऽखा॒दः । अद्भु॑तः । न । यस्य॑ । ह॒न्यते॑ । सखा॑ । न । जीय॑ते । कदा॑ । च॒न ॥
शासः एतत्संज्ञोऽहम् इत्था इत्थमनेन वक्ष्यमाण प्रकारेणेन्द्रं स्तौमीति शेषः । हे इन्द्र त्वं महाँ असि सर्वेभ्योऽधिको भवसि । अमित्रखादः अमित्राणां शत्रूणां खादिता विनाशयिता अत एव अद्भुतः आश्चर्यभूतश्च भवसि । यस्य इन्र्रस्य सखा मित्रभूतः पुरुषः कदा चन कदाचिदपि न हन्यते न हिंस्यते न जीयते न च शत्रुभिः पराजितो भवति स त्वं महाँ असीत्यन्वयः।
“Śāsa thus (praise Indra); you are mighty, the destroyer of foes, the wonderful, (he) whose friend isnot killed nor ever overpowered.”
A MIGHTY Governor art thou, Wondrous, Destroyer of the foe,
Whose friend is never done to death, and never, never overcome.
As commander, you are great in just this way: as the infallible devourer of foes,
whose comrade is not slain nor is he ever conquered.
Ein grosser Herrscher bist du traun, ein Feindvernichter wunderbar, Du, dessen Freund getödtet nicht, noch jemals überwältigt wird.
Du bist ein so großer Gebieter, ein wunderbarer Feindevertilger, dessen Freund nicht getötet noch jemals vergewaltigt wird.
Ты, в самом деле, могучий повелитель,
Пожиратель недругов удивительный,

स्व॒स्ति॒दा वि॒शस्पति॑र्वृत्र॒हा वि॑मृ॒धो व॒शी । वृषेन्द्र॑: पु॒र ए॑तु नः सोम॒पा अ॑भयंक॒रः ॥
स्व॒स्ति॒ऽदाः । वि॒शः । पतिः॑ । वृ॒त्र॒ऽहा । वि॒ऽमृ॒धः । व॒शी । वृषा॑ । इन्द्रः॑ । पु॒रः । ए॒तु॒ । नः॒ । सो॒म॒ऽपाः । अ॒भ॒य॒म्ऽक॒रः ॥
स्वस्तिदाः स्वस्तेरविनाशस्य दाता विशस्पतिः सर्वस्याः प्रजायाः पालयिता वृत्रहा वृत्राणां शत्रूणां हन्ता विमृधः संग्रामकारी वशी वशीकर्ता वृषा वर्षिता कामानां सोमपाः सोमस्य पाता एवंविधः इन्द्रः अभयंकरः अभयस्य भयराहित्यस्य कर्ता सन् नः अस्माकं पुर एतु पुरतो गच्छतु ॥
“May Indra, the granter of prosperity, the lord of men, the slayer of Vṛtra, the warrior, the subduer, theshowerer, the drinker of the Soma, the assurer of safety, come to our presence.”
Lord of the clan, who brings us bliss, Strong, Warrior, Slayer of the fiend,
May India, Soma-drinker, go before us, Bull who gives us peace.
As the lord of the clan who gives well-being, the Vr̥tra-smasher,
(smasher) of the scornful, exerting his will—
let the bull Indra go before us, the soma-drinker, the creator of
fearlessness.
Der Segen schenkt als Stammes Herr den Vritra schlägt, den Feind bezwingt, Als Stier geh Indra uns voran, der Soma trinkt und Frieden schafft.
Der heilspendende Clanherr, der Vritratöter, der die Verächter vertreibt, der Gebieter, der Bulle Indra soll uns vorangehen, der Somatrinker, der Sicherheit schafft.
Дающий счастье господин племен,
Убийца Вритры, гонитель тех, кто презирает (нас), властелин,

वि रक्षो॒ वि मृधो॑ जहि॒ वि वृ॒त्रस्य॒ हनू॑ रुज । वि म॒न्युमि॑न्द्र वृत्रहन्न॒मित्र॑स्याभि॒दास॑तः ॥
वि । रक्षः॑ । वि । मृधः॑ । ज॒हि॒ । वि । वृ॒त्रस्य॑ । हनू॒ इति॑ । रु॒ज॒ । वि । म॒न्युम् । इ॒न्द्र॒ । वृ॒त्र॒ऽह॒न् । अ॒मित्र॑स्य । अ॒भि॒ऽदास॑तः ॥
हे इन्द्र रक्षः राक्षसजातं वि जहि विनाशय । मृधः संग्रामकारिणः शत्रूंश्च वि जहि । वृत्रस्य अवरकस्यासुरस्य हनू कपोलप्रान्तौ वि रुज विशेषेण भग्नौ कुरु । हे वृत्रहन् इन्द्र अभिदासतः अस्मानुपक्षयतः अमित्रस्य शत्रोः मन्युं क्रोधमपि विनाशय ॥
“Destroy, Indra, the rākṣasas, the enemies; fracture the jaws of Vṛtra; baffle, indra, slayer of Vṛtra,the wrath of (our) menacing foe.”
Drive Raksasas and foes away, break thou in pieces Vrtra'sjaws:
O Vrtra-slaying Indra, quell the foeman's wrath who threatens us.
Smash away the demon, away the scornful; break apart the jaws of Vr̥tra. O Indra, Vr̥tra-smasher, (smash) away the battle fury of the foe who assails us.

वि न॑ इन्द्र॒ मृधो॑ जहि नी॒चा य॑च्छ पृतन्य॒तः । यो अ॒स्माँ अ॑भि॒दास॒त्यध॑रं गमया॒ तम॑: ॥
वि । नः॒ । इ॒न्द्र॒ । मृधः॑ । ज॒हि॒ । नी॒चा । य॒च्छ॒ । पृ॒त॒न्य॒तः । यः । अ॒स्मान् । अ॒भि॒ऽदास॑ति । अध॑रम् । ग॒म॒य॒ । तमः॑ ॥
हे इन्द्र नः अस्माकं मृधः संग्रामकारिणः शत्रून् वि जहि विनाशय । तथा पृतन्यतः पृतना: सेना आत्मन इच्छतो युयुत्समानानपि नीचा यच्छ । नीचीनमवाङ्मुखं यच्छ। गमय । यः शत्रुः अस्मान् अभिदासति अभित उपक्षपयति तम् अधरं निकृष्टं तमः अन्धकारं मरणलक्षणं गमय प्रापय ॥
“Destroy, Indra, our enemies; hunt down those who are in array against us; consign to lower darknesshim who seeks to harm us.”
O Indra, beat our foes away, humble the men who challenge us:
Send down to nether darkness him who seeks to do us injury.
Smash away the scornful for us, Indra. Hold down those who battle us. Who assails us, make him go to lower darkness.
Zerschlage, Indra, unsern Feind, wirf nieder, die, uns kämpfend nahn, Wer uns verfolgt, den schleudre du hinab in tiefste Finsterniss.
Jage uns die Verächter fort, Indra; halte die Angreifer nieder! Wer uns bedroht, den schicke in die unterste Finsternis!
Уничтожь, о Индра, тех кто нас презирает,
Ниц повергни нападающих (на нас)!
Кто нам угрожает,
Отправь (того) в нижний мрак!
अपे॑न्द्र द्विष॒तो मनोऽप॒ जिज्या॑सतो व॒धम् । वि म॒न्योः शर्म॑ यच्छ॒ वरी॑यो यवया व॒धम् ॥
अप॑ । इ॒न्द्र॒ । द्वि॒ष॒तः । मनः॑ । अप॑ । जिज्या॑सतः । व॒धम् । वि । म॒न्योः । शर्म॑ । य॒च्छ॒ । वरी॑यः । य॒व॒य॒ । व॒धम् ॥
हे इन्द्र द्विषतः द्वेष्टुः शत्रोः मनः अप जहि । जिज्यासतः अस्माकं वयोहानिमिच्छतश्च वधं हननसाधनमायुधं च अप जहि । मन्योः शत्रुसंबन्धिनः क्रोधाच्चास्मान् रक्ष। वरीयः उरुतरं शर्म सुख विशेषेण यच्छ देहि। वधं शत्रुकृतं हननं च यवय अस्मत्तः पृथक्कुरु ॥ ॥१०॥
“Frustrate the purpose of him who hates us, (baffle) the weapon of him who seeks to overpower us,grant us entire security from his wrath of (his) weapon.”
Baffle the foeman's plan, ward off his weapon who would conquer us.
Give shelter from his furious wrath, and keep his murdering dart afar.
Away with the thought of him who hates (us), Indra; away with the deadly weapon of the one who seeks to despoil (us).
Extend shelter (to us) from battle fury. Keep the deadly weapon a wide way away.
Wend' Indra ab des Hasseers Sinn, des Siegeslustigen Geschoss, Gewähr uns Schutz vor seiner Wuth, weit treibe weg das Mordgeschoss.
Halt, Indra, des Hassers Absicht ab, die Mordwaffe des, der uns Gewalt antun will! Breite deinen Schirm vor seinem Grimme aus, lenke die Mordwaffe weit ab!
(Отведи) прочь, о Индра, мысль ненавистника,
Прочь смертельное оружие того, кто хочет (нас) победить!
Распространи защиту от (его) ярости!
Прогони подальше смертельное оружие!
