वि॒भ्राड्बृ॒हत्पि॑बतु सो॒म्यं मध्वायु॒र्दध॑द्य॒ज्ञप॑ता॒ववि॑ह्रुतम् । वात॑जूतो॒ यो अ॑भि॒रक्ष॑ति॒ त्मना॑ प्र॒जाः पु॑पोष पुरु॒धा वि रा॑जति ॥
वि॒ऽभ्राट् । बृ॒हत् । पि॒ब॒तु॒ । सो॒म्यम् । मधु॑ । आयुः॑ । दध॑त् । य॒ज्ञऽप॑तौ । अवि॑ऽहुतम् । वात॑ऽजूतः । यः । अ॒भि॒ऽरक्ष॑ति । त्मना॑ । प्र॒ऽजाः । पु॒पो॒ष॒ । पु॒रु॒धा । वि । रा॒ज॒ति॒ ॥
विभ्राट् विभ्राजमानो विशेषेण दीप्यमानः सूर्यः बृहत् महत् परिवृढं सोम्यं सोममयं मधु पिबतु । किं कुर्वन् । यज्ञपतौ यजमाने अविह्रुतम् अकुटिलम् आयुः दधत्कुर्वन् । यः सूर्यः वातजूतः वातेन महावायुना प्रेर्यमाणः सन् त्मना आत्मना स्वयमेव अभिरक्षति सर्वं जगदभिपश्यन् पालयति । राशिचक्रस्य वायुप्रेर्यत्वात् सूर्यस्यापि तत्प्रेर्यत्यम् । स सूर्यः प्रजाः पुपोष वृष्ट्यादिप्रदानेन पोषयति पुरुधा बहुधा वि राजति विशेषेण दीप्यते च ॥
“Let the radiant (Sūrya) drink much sweet Soma, bestowing unbroken life upon the lord of thesacrifice; (Sūrya), who impelled by the wind protects his people of his own accord, nourishes them and shinesin various plural ces.”
MAY the Bright God drink glorious Soma-mingled meath, giving the sacrifice's lord uninjured life;
He who, wind-urged, in person guards our offspring well, hath nourished them with food and shines o'er many a land.
Let the lofty (light) blazing forth drink the somian honey, imparting an unswerving lifetime on the lord of the sacrifice—
he who, sped by the wind, stands guard by himself, he fosters the
creatures; he rules [/shines] widely in many places.
Der weithin leuchtet, trinke süssen Somatrank, geh' ungebeugtes Alter unserm Opferherrn; Er, der vom Wind beflügelt rechten Schutz verleiht, die Menschheit nährt an vielen Orten weit erstrahlt.
Das hohe, strahlende Licht soll den somischen Met trinken, dem Opferherrn ungebeugte Lebenskraft verleihend, der windschnell in eigener Person Wache hält. Er hat die Geschöpfe zum Wachsen gebracht, er gebietet vielerorts.
Пусть (Сурья,) ярко сверкающий высокий (свет), пьет мед сомы,
Давая господину жертвы нескомканный срок жизни,
Поторапливаемый ветром (Сурья,) который охраняет собою (людей).
Он (всегда) вызывал процветание существ, он правит во многих местах.

वि॒ऽभ्राट् । बृ॒हत् । सुऽभृ॑तम् । वा॒ज॒ऽसात॑मम् । धर्म॑म् । दि॒वः । ध॒रुणे॑ । स॒त्यम् । अर्पि॑तम् । अ॒मि॒त्र॒ऽहा । वृ॒त्र॒ऽहा । द॒स्यु॒हन्ऽत॑मम् । ज्योतिः॑ । ज॒ज्ञे॒ । अ॒सु॒र॒ऽहा । स॒प॒त्न॒ऽहा ॥
विभ्राट् विभ्राजमानं बृहत् प्रौढं सुभृतं सुपुष्टं वाजसातमं वाजस्यान्नस्य बलस्य वा दातृतमं धर्मन् धर्मणि वायुना धारयितव्ये दिवः द्युलोकस्य धरुणे धारके सूर्यमण्डले अर्पितं निक्षिप्तं सत्यम् अविनश्वरम् अमित्रहा अमित्राणामप्रियाणां हन्तृ वृत्रहा वृत्राणामावृण्वतां हन्तृ दस्युहंतमं दस्यूनामुपक्षपयितॄणां हन्तृतमम् असुरहा असुराणां क्षेप्तॄणां घातकं सपत्नहा सपत्नानां सहजशत्रूणामपि घातकमीदृग्भूतं ज्योतिः सौरं तेजः जज्ञे प्रादुर्भवति ॥
“The radiant light is born mighty, well-cherished, the abundant bestower of food, eternal, deposited inthe supporting sustainer of the sky, the slayer of adversaries, the slayer of the Vṛtras, abundantly slaying theDasyus, the slayer of the Asuras, the slayer of rivals.”
Radiant, as high Truth, cherished, best at winning strength, Truth based upon the statute that supports the heavens,
He rose, a light, that kills Vrtras and enemies, best slayer of the Dasyus, Asuras, and foes.
The lofty (light) blazing forth, well supported, best winner of prizes, real, is fitted into the foundation, the buttress of heaven.
Smasher of foes, smasher of obstacles, best smasher of Dasyus, the light has been born, the smasher of lords, smasher of rivals.
Der weithin leuchtet, hat sein schöngetragnes Licht, erzeugt und an des Himmels festen Halt gefügt, Das labungsreichste, wahre, das die Feinde tilgt, Asuren tödtend, Hasser, Gegner, Eiferer.
Das hohe, strahlende Licht, das wohlgepflegte, das den höchsten Preis davonträgt, das in des Himmels Ordnung und fester Grundlage eingefügte, wahrhafte, das feindetötende, vritratötende, am meisten Dasyu tötende Licht, das die Asura´s tötende, die Nebenbuhler tötende, ist geboren.
Ярко сверкающий, высокий, хорошо поддерживаемы, лучше всех завоевывающий награды,
Истинно установленный в опоре (неба), в основании неба,
Убивающий недругов, убивающий Вритру, лучше всех убивающий дасью
Свет родился, убивающий асуров, убивающий соперников.
इ॒दं श्रेष्ठं॒ ज्योति॑षां॒ ज्योति॑रुत्त॒मं वि॑श्व॒जिद्ध॑न॒जिदु॑च्यते बृ॒हत् । वि॒श्व॒भ्राड्भ्रा॒जो महि॒ सूर्यो॑ दृ॒श उ॒रु प॑प्रथे॒ सह॒ ओजो॒ अच्यु॑तम् ॥
इ॒दम् । श्रेष्ठ॑म् । ज्योति॑षाम् । ज्योतिः॑ । उ॒त्ऽत॒मम् । वि॒श्व॒ऽजित् । ध॒न॒ऽजित् । उ॒च्य॒ते॒ । बृ॒हत् । वि॒श्व॒ऽभ्राट् । भ्रा॒जः । महि॑ । सूर्यः॑ । दृ॒शे । उ॒रु । प॒प्र॒थे॒ । सहः॑ । ओजः॑ । अच्यु॑तम् ॥
इदं सौरं तेजः श्रेष्ठं प्रशस्यतमं ज्योतिषाम् अन्येषां ग्रहनक्षत्रादीनामपि ज्योतिः प्रकाशकमत एव उत्तमम् उत्कृष्टं विश्वजित् विश्वस्य सर्वस्य जेतृ 'धनजित् धनस्य च जेतृ बृहत् प्रभूतम् उच्यते । एवंगुणविशिष्टमिति सर्वैरभिधीयते । अपि च विश्वभ्राट् विश्वस्य प्रकाशयिता भ्राजः भ्राजमानः महि महान् सूर्यः दृशे दर्शनाय उरु विस्तीर्णं सहः तमसोऽभिभवितृ अच्युतं च्युतिरहितमविनाशम् ओजः तेजोरूपं बलं पप्रथे विस्तारयति ॥
“This light, the best of lights, the most excellent, is called the conqueror of all, the conqueror of wealth,mighty, all-illumining, radiant, mighty, Sūrya displays to view his vast power, his unfailing lustre.”
This light, the best of lights, supreme, all-conquering, winner of riches, is exalted with high laud.
All-lighting, radiant, mighty as the Sun to see, he spreadeth wide unfailing victory and strength.
Here is the fairest, the highest light of lights: the lofty one is called all-conquering, wealth-conquering.
The all-blazing, greatly blazing Sun spreads his broad might, his
unshakeable strength to be seen.
Dies schönste Licht der Lichter, das erhabendste, das allbesiegend Beute macht, wird hoch gerühmt, Der Strahl, das All bestrahlend mit der Sonne Schein, hat weit verbreitet Kraft und ungebeugte Macht.
Dieses schönste der Lichter, das höchste Licht heißt das Allgewinnende, Schätzegewinnende, das Hohe. Der allstrahlende, mächtig strahlende Surya hat zum Schauen seine Gewalt und unentwegte Kraft weithin ausgebreitet.
Этот лучший из светов, высший свет
Называется завоевывающим все, завоевывающим богатство, (этот) высокий.
Сверкающий во все стороны, мощно сверкающий Сурья, чтоб было видно,
Широко распространил (свою) мощь, (свою) непоколебимую силу.
वि॒भ्राज॒ञ्ज्योति॑षा॒ स्व१॒॑रग॑च्छो रोच॒नं दि॒वः । येने॒मा विश्वा॒ भुव॑ना॒न्याभृ॑ता वि॒श्वक॑र्मणा वि॒श्वदे॑व्यावता ॥
वि॒ऽभ्राज॑म् । ज्योति॑षा । स्वः॑ । अग॑च्छः । रो॒च॒नम् । दि॒वः । येन॑ । इ॒मा । विश्वा॑ । भुव॑नानि । आऽभृ॑ता । वि॒श्वऽक॑र्मणा । वि॒श्वदे॑व्यऽवता ॥
हे सूर्य ज्योतिषा तेजसा स्वः सर्वं जगत् विभ्राजन् विभ्राजयन् दिवः संबन्धि रोचनं रोचमानं स्थानम् अगच्छः प्राप्नोः । विश्वकर्मणा सर्वव्यापारहेतुना विश्वदेव्यावता । विश्वेषां देवानां हितो यागादिर्विश्वदेव्यः । तद्वता येन सौरेण तेजसा इमा इमानि परिदृश्यमानानि विश्वा सर्वाणि भुवनानि उदकानि भौमानि आभृता घर्मकाल आभृतानि भवन्ति । यद्वा । सर्वाणि भूतजातान्याभृता समन्ताद्भृतानि पोषितानि भवन्ति । तेन ज्योतिषा इत्यन्वयः ॥ ॥ २८ ॥
“Illumining the whole (world) with your radiance, you have attained (Sūrya) the luminous region ofheaven, by which (radiance) animating all pious acts and addressed to the universal gods, all living beings arecherished.”
Beaming forth splendour with thy light, thou hast attained heaven's lustrous realm.
By thee were brought together all existing things, possessor of all Godhead, All-effecting God.
Flashing forth with your light, as the Sun you went to the luminous realm of heaven,
you by whom all these worlds are supported here, you who accomplish all work, who possess all that is proper for gods.
Erstrahlend hell mit deinem Licht ersteigst des Himmels Aether du, Durch den die Wesen alle hier getragen sind, der alles wirkt, mit allem göttlichen begabt.
In Licht erstrahlend kamst du als Sonne, als Himmelslicht, von dem alle diese Geschöpfe erhalten werden, von dem Allschöpfer, dem Visvakarman, der alle göttlichen Kräfte besitzt.
Ярко сверкая (своим) светом, ты пришел
Как солнце в светлое пространство неба,
(Ты,) благодаря которому поддержаны все существа,
Благодаря творцу всего, наделенному все божественным.
