छन्दगायत्री
त्वं त्यमि॒टतो॒ रथ॒मिन्द्र॒ प्राव॑: सु॒ताव॑तः । अशृ॑णोः सो॒मिनो॒ हव॑म् ॥
त्वम् । त्यम् । इ॒टतः॑ । रथ॑म् । इन्द्र॑ । प्र । आ॒वः॒ । सु॒तऽव॑तः । अशृ॑णोः । सो॒मिन॑ । हव॑म् ॥
हे इन्द्र सुतावतः सुतेनाभिषुतेन सोमेन युक्तस्य इटतः इटस्य । ‘सुपां सुलुक्' इति ङसस्तस् । एतत्संज्ञस्यर्षेः त्यं तं प्रसिद्धं रथं प्रावः प्रारक्षः । सोमिनः सोमयुक्तस्य मम हवम् आह्वानम् अशृणोः शृणु ॥
“You have protected, Indra, this chariot of Iḷā, who offered libations; hear the invocation of thepresenter of the Soma.”
FOR Ita's sake who pressed the juice, thou, Indra, didst protect his car,
And hear the Soma-giver's call.
You, Indra—you furthered this chariot of Iṭat the presser.
You heard the call of the one who has soma.
Vom saftbegabten Schilfteich her o Indra, kamst gefahren du, Vernahmst des Somapressers Ruf.
Du Indra halfst jenem Wagen des Itat vorwärts, der Soma ausgepreßt hatte; du erhörtest den Ruf des Somaspenders.
Ты, о Индра, помог (промчаться) вперед той самой
Колеснице Итата, выжимавшего сому,
Ты услышал призыв жертвователя сомы.
त्वं म॒खस्य॒ दोध॑त॒: शिरोऽव॑ त्व॒चो भ॑रः । अग॑च्छः सो॒मिनो॑ गृ॒हम् ॥
त्वम् । म॒खस्य॑ । दोध॑तः । शिरः॑ । अव॑ । त्व॒चः । भ॒रः॒ । अग॑च्छः । सो॒मिनः॑ । गृ॒हम् ॥
हे इन्द्र त्वं मखस्य यज्ञस्य दोधतः कम्पमानस्य देवेभ्यः पलायमानस्य शिरः प्रवर्ग्यरूपं त्वचः त्वगुपलक्षिताच्छरीरात् अव भरः । अवयुत्य पृथक्कृत्य हृतवानसि । देवेभ्यो निष्क्रान्तस्य पुरुषाकारस्य धन्विनो यज्ञस्य शिर इन्द्रो वम्रिरूपेण ज्याघातनद्वारा पुरा चिच्छेद । तदभिप्रायेणेदमुक्तम् । श्रूयते हि - तस्येन्द्रो वम्रिरूपेण धनुर्ज्यामच्छिनद्रुद्रस्य त्वेव धनुरार्त्निः शिर उत्पिपेष स प्रवर्ग्योऽभवत्' (तै. आ. १. ५. २) इति । स त्वं सोमिनः सोमवतो मम गृहम् अगच्छः आगच्छ
“You have carried off the head of the trmbling sacrifice from his skin; come to the dwelling of thepresenter of the Soma.”
Thou from his skin hast borne the head of the swift-moving combatant,
And sought the Soma-pourer's home.
You pulled the head of the raging Battler off from his skin.
You went to the house of the one who has soma.

Du hast den Kopf des widerspenstigen Makha von der Haut abgetrennt und kamst in des Somaspenders Haus.

Ты отделил от кожи.
Ты отправился в дом жертвователя сомы.
त्वं त्यमि॑न्द्र॒ मर्त्य॑मास्त्रबु॒ध्नाय॑ वे॒न्यम् । मुहु॑: श्रथ्ना मन॒स्यवे॑ ॥
त्वम् । त्यम् । इ॒न्द्र॒ । मर्त्य॑म् । आ॒स्त्र॒ऽबु॒ध्नाय॑ । वे॒न्यम् । मुहुः॑ । श्र॒थ्नाः॒ । म॒न॒स्यवे॑ ॥
हे इन्द्र त्वं त्यं तं मर्त्यं मनुष्यं वेन्यं वेनस्य पुत्रं पृथुम् आस्त्रबुध्नाय । अस्त्रबुध्नो नाम कश्चित् । तस्य पुत्राय मनस्यवे मननीयं स्तोत्रमिच्छते मुहुः शश्वत् श्रथ्नाः अहिंसीः । वशमनय इत्यर्थः ॥ ।
“You have often, Indra, let loose the mortal Venya, against Manasyu, the son of Astrabudhna.”
Venya, that mortal man, hast thou, for Astrabudhna the devout,
O Indra, many a time set free.
You, Indra—this mortal Venya
you made slack in an instant, for Āstrabudhna, who had it in mind.
Dem Astrabudhna machtest du, dem andachtsvollen, wieder los Den liebenswerthen Sterblichen.
Du, Indra, hast jene sterblichen Venya für den darauf bedachten Astrabudhna im Augenblick losgemacht.
Ты, о Индра, того самого смертного
Венью в (один) миг освободил
Для задумавшего (это) Астрабудхны.
त्वं त्यमि॑न्द्र॒ सूर्यं॑ प॒श्चा सन्तं॑ पु॒रस्कृ॑धि । दे॒वानां॑ चित्ति॒रो वश॑म् ॥
त्वम् । त्यम् । इ॒न्द्र॒ । सूर्य॑म् । प॒श्चा । सन्त॑म् । पु॒रः । कृ॒धि॒ । दे॒वाना॑म् । चि॒त् । ति॒रः । वश॑म् ॥
हे इन्द्र त्वं त्यं सूर्यं सायंसमये पश्चा पश्चात् सन्तं भवन्तं पुरः परेद्युः प्रातःकाले पुरस्तात् कृधि करोषि। लकारव्यत्ययः । कीदृशम् । देवानां चित् देवानामपि तिरः तिरोहितं तैरपि क्व गत इति दुर्विज्ञातं वशं कान्तम् ॥ ॥ २९ ॥
“Bring forward that Sūrya, Indra, who is lingering behind, the beloved of the gods, (awhile) concealedfrom them.”
Bring, Indra, to the east again that Sun who now is in the west,
Even against the will of Gods.
You, Indra—set this sun in front, though it is behind,
even athwart the will of the gods.
Die Sonne, die im Westen ist, schaff', Indra, du nach Osten hin, Auch wenn's nicht Wunsch der Götter ist.
Bring du; Indra, diese Sonne, die hinten ist, nach vorn, selbst wider der Götter willen!
Ты, о Индра, того самого Сурью,
Находящегося позади, поставь впереди
Даже вопреки воле богов!
