यस्ते॑ म॒न्योऽवि॑धद्वज्र सायक॒ सह॒ ओज॑: पुष्यति॒ विश्व॑मानु॒षक् । सा॒ह्याम॒ दास॒मार्यं॒ त्वया॑ यु॒जा सह॑स्कृतेन॒ सह॑सा॒ सह॑स्वता ॥
यः । ते॒ । म॒न्यो॒ इति॑ । अवि॑धत् । व॒ज्र॒ । सा॒य॒क॒ । सहः॑ । ओजः॑ । पु॒ष्य॒ति॒ । विश्व॑म् । आ॒नु॒षक् । सा॒ह्याम॑ । दास॑म् । आर्य॑म् । त्वया॑ । यु॒जा । सहः॑ऽकृतेन । सह॑सा । सह॑स्वता ॥
हे मन्यो क्रोधाभिमानिन् देव ।' मन्युर्मन्यतेर्दीप्तिकर्मणः क्रोधकर्मणो वधकर्मणो वा ' (निरु. १०. २९) इति निरुक्तम् । यः यजमानः ते तुभ्यम् अविधत् परिचरति हे वज्र वज्रवत्सारभूत सायक सायकवच्छत्रूणां हिंसक स मनुष्यः सहः बलं बाह्यम् ओजः शारीरं बलं च आनुषक् अनुषक्तं पुष्यति त्वदनुग्रहात्संग्रामे । यस्मादेवं तस्माद्वयं दासम् उपक्षयकर्तारम् आर्यम् अस्मत्तोऽधिकं चोभयविधं शत्रुं साह्याम अभिभवेम। केन साधनेनेति तदुच्यते । त्वया युजा त्वया सहायेन । सहायो विशेष्यते । सहस्कृतेन बलोत्पादितेन सहसा सहमानेन परान् सहस्वता बलवता । ईदृशेन त्वया सहायेनेत्यर्थः ॥
“He who worships you, Manyu, the thunderbolt, the destroyer (of enemies), enjoys all might andstrength, combined; may we oversome the Dāsa and the Ārya with you for our ally, invigorating, strong andvigorous.”
HE who hath reverenced thee, Manyu, destructive bolt, breeds for himself forthwith all conquering energy.
Arya and Dasa will we conquer with thine aid, with thee the Conqueror, with conquest conquest-sped.
Who has done honor to you, o Battle Fury—you mace, you missile—he prospers in due order in all victorious might and strength.
Might we be victorious over Dāsa and Ārya with you as yokemate, with victorious might, created by might, possessing might.
Wer dir, o Manju, huldigt, o entsandter, Blitz, in dem erblüht in steter Fülle Kraft und Sieg; Mit dir im Bund wird Sieg uns über Freund und Feind durch Sieg-geborne Sieg-begabte Siegerkraft.
Wer es dir, Manyu, recht gemacht hat, du Indrakeule, du Geschoß, der entfaltet vollständig seine ganze Macht und Kraft. Wir wollen mit dir im Bunde den Dasa und den Arier bezwingen, mit der machtgeborenen, machtvollen Macht.
म॒न्युरिन्द्रो॑ म॒न्युरे॒वास॑ दे॒वो म॒न्युर्होता॒ वरु॑णो जा॒तवे॑दाः । म॒न्युं विश॑ ईळते॒ मानु॑षी॒र्याः पा॒हि नो॑ मन्यो॒ तप॑सा स॒जोषा॑: ॥
म॒न्युः । इन्द्रः॑ । म॒न्युः । ए॒व । आ॒स॒ । दे॒वः । म॒न्युः । होता॑ । वरु॑णः । जा॒तऽवे॑दाः । म॒न्युम् । विशः॑ । ई॒ळ॒ते॒ । मानु॑षीः । याः । पा॒हि । नः॒ । म॒न्यो॒ इति॑ । तप॑सा । स॒ऽजोषाः॑ ॥
अयं मन्युरिन्द्रः मन्युरेव देवः सर्वोऽपि मन्युरेव आस अभवत् । मन्युः एव होता होमनिष्पादकोऽग्निः । तथा मन्युः वरुणः अपि जातवेदाः जातप्रज्ञो वरुणश्च । सर्वेष्वपि तेजस्विषु । मन्युसद्भावात् । याः मानुषीः मनुषोऽपत्यभूताः विशः प्रजाः सन्ति ताः मन्युं एव देवम् ईळते स्तुवन्ति । हे मन्यो तपसा एतन्नामकेनास्मत्पित्रा सजोषाः समानप्रीतिस्त्वं पाहि रक्ष ।
“Manyu is Indra; Manyu verily was a god; Manyu is the sacrificing priest (Agni), the omniscient Varuṇa;the people who are of human descent, praise Manyu; protect us, Manyu, well plural ased along with Tapas.”
Manyu was Indra, yea, the God, was Manyu, Manyu was Hotar, Varuna, Jatavedas.
The tribes of human lineage worship Manyu. Accordant with thy fervour, Manyu, guard us.
Battle Fury was Indra, just Battle Fury was (every?) god; Battle Fury was the Hotar, Varuṇa, Jātavedas.
Battle Fury do the clans that stem from Manu reverently invoke. Protect us, Battle Fury, in concert with Fervor.
Von je ist Manju Indra, Manju Gott auch, er Varuna, er Priester, Wesenkenner; Den Manju preist die Schar der Menschenstämme mit Glut vereinigt schütze du uns, Manju.
Manyu ward Indra, Manyu selbst ward jeder Gott, Manyu der Hotri, Varuna, Jatavedas. Den Manyu rufen die menschlichen Stämme an: Schütze uns, Manyu, im Verein mit Tapas!
अ॒भी॑हि मन्यो त॒वस॒स्तवी॑या॒न्तप॑सा यु॒जा वि ज॑हि॒ शत्रू॑न् । अ॒मि॒त्र॒हा वृ॑त्र॒हा द॑स्यु॒हा च॒ विश्वा॒ वसू॒न्या भ॑रा॒ त्वं न॑: ॥

हे मन्यो त्वम् अभीहि अभिगच्छास्मद्यज्ञम् । कीदृशस्त्वम् । तवसः बलवतोऽपि तवीयान् अत्यन्तं बलवान् । स त्वं तपसा अस्मत्पित्रा युजा सहायेन शत्रून् वि जहि । किंच अमित्रहा अमित्राणां हन्ता । अमित्रोऽस्निग्धः । तथा वृत्रहा आवरकाणां शत्रूणां हन्ता तथा . दस्युहा च । दस्युरुपक्षपणकारी शत्रुः । तादृश मन्युदेव त्वं विश्वा सर्वाणि वसूनि धनानि नः अस्मभ्यम् आ भर आहर ॥
“Come to us Manyuu, who are the strongest of the strong; with Tapas as your ally overthrow ourenemies; do you who are the slayer of enemies, the slayer of adversaries, the slayer of foes, bring to us allriches.”
Come hither, Manyu, mightier tham the mighty; chase, with thy fervour for ally, our foemen.
Slayer of foes, of Vrtra, and of Dasyu, bring thou to us all kinds of wealth and treasure.
Attack, Battle Fury, stronger than strong. With Fervor as yokemate smite away our rivals.
Foe-smiting, obstacle-smiting, and Dasyu-smiting, bring all good things here to us.
Greif an, o Manju, stärker du als Stärke, mit Glut im Bunde schlage fort die Feinde, Du Gegner, Vritra und Dämonen tödtend, o bringe du herbei uns alle Güter.
Geh an, Manyu, stärker als der Starke! Mit Tapas im Bunde zerstreue die Feinde! Als Feindetöter, Vritratöter und Dasyutöter bring du alle Schätze uns her.
त्वं हि म॑न्यो अ॒भिभू॑त्योजाः स्वय॒म्भूर्भामो॑ अभिमातिषा॒हः । वि॒श्वच॑र्षणि॒: सहु॑रि॒: सहा॑वान॒स्मास्वोज॒: पृत॑नासु धेहि ॥
त्वम् । हि । म॒न्यो॒ इति॑ । अ॒भिभू॑तिऽओजाः । स्व॒य॒म्ऽभूः । भामः॑ । अ॒भि॒मा॒ति॒ऽस॒हः । वि॒श्वऽच॑र्षणिः । सहु॑रिः । सहा॑वान् । अ॒स्मासु॑ । ओजः॑ । पृत॑नासु । धे॒हि॒ ॥
हे मन्यो त्वम् अभिभूत्योजाः परेषामभिभावुकबलः स्वयंभूः स्वयमेवोत्पन्नः भामः क्रुद्धः अभिमातिषाहः । अभितो हिंसन्तीत्यभिमातयः शत्रवः । तेषामभिभविता । विश्वचर्षणिः सर्वेषां द्रष्टा सहुरिः सहनशीलः सहावान् सहनवान् ईदृशस्त्वम् अस्मासु पृतनासु संग्रामेषु ओजः बलं धेहि देहि ॥
“Do you, Manyu, who are possessed of over-powering strength, self- existent, irate, the overcomer ofenemies, the beholder of all, enduring, vigorous, grant us strength in battles.”
For thou art, Manyu, of surpassing vigour, fierce, queller of the foe, and self-existent,
Shared by all men, victorious, subduer: vouchsafe to us superior strengith in battles.
For you, Battle Fury, having overwhelming strength, are self-generated Wrath, victorious over hostility.
Common to all domains, victorious, possessing victorious might, confer strength on us in battle.
Denn deine Kraft ist unbezwinglich, Manju, selbsteigner Grimm bist du, den Feind bezwingend, Der ganzen Menscheit Sieger, Ueberwinder, leg in den Schlachten auf uns deine Stärke.
Denn du, Manyu, von überlegener Stärke, bist der selbstgewordene, feindebezwingende Ingrimm. Allen Völkern gehörig, überlegen, übergewaltig, gib uns Kraft in den Kämpfen!
अ॒भा॒गः सन्नप॒ परे॑तो अस्मि॒ तव॒ क्रत्वा॑ तवि॒षस्य॑ प्रचेतः । तं त्वा॑ मन्यो अक्र॒तुर्जि॑हीळा॒हं स्वा त॒नूर्ब॑ल॒देया॑य॒ मेहि॑ ॥
अ॒भा॒गः । सन् । अप॑ । परा॑ऽइतः । अ॒स्मि॒ । तव॑ । क्रत्वा॑ । त॒वि॒षस्य॑ । प्र॒चे॒त॒ इति॑ प्रऽचेतः । तम् । त्वा॒ । म॒न्यो॒ इति॑ । अ॒क्र॒तुः । जि॒ही॒ळ॒ । अ॒हम् । स्वा । त॒नूः । ब॒ल॒ऽदेया॑य । मा॒ । आ । इ॒हि॒ ॥
हे प्रचेतः प्रकृष्टज्ञान मन्यो तविषस्य महतः तव क्रत्वा कर्मणा अभागः भागरहितः सन् । त्वां यज्ञेऽयाजकः सन्नित्यर्थः । त्वदनुकूलरहितोऽहम् अप परेतोऽस्मि युद्धे शत्रुभिरभिभूतः सन् दूरं गतोऽस्मि । तं तादृशं भागरहितं त्वा त्वां हे मन्यो अक्रतुः कर्मरहितः अहं जिहीळ क्रुद्धं कृतवानित्यर्थः । यद्वा अहमेव त्वत्सहायमेव क्रोधितवान् । अथेदानीं स्वा तनूः मम शरीरभूतस्त्वं बलदेयाय बलदानाय मेहि मां प्राप्नुहि ॥
“Sage Manyu, taking no part in the worship of you, the powerful one, I have retreated (from before myfoes); worshipping not, I was angry with you; (yet) being (incorporated with) my body, approach me to give mestrength.”
I have departed, still without a portion, wise God! according to thy will, the Mighty.
I, feeble man, was wroth thee, O Manyu I am myself; come thou to give me vigour.
Being without a portion, I have gone off far away, because of your intention, you forceful and discerning one.
Unintentionally I have angered you, Battle Fury. In your own person come to me to give me power.
Hinweggegangen bin ich ohne Antheil nach deiner Weisheit, starker du und weiser; Drum hatt' ich Thor, o Manju, dir gezürnet; leibhaftig komme kraftverleihend zu mir.
Ohne Beuteanteil bin ich abgezogen, nach deinem, des Starken, Ratschluß, du Weiser. Dich, Manyu, habe ich ohne Absicht erzürnt. In eigener Person komme zu mir, um mir Kraft zu leihen!

अ॒यम् । ते॒ । अ॒स्मि॒ । उप॑ । मा॒ । आ । इ॒हि॒ । अ॒र्वाङ् । प्र॒ती॒ची॒नः । स॒हु॒रे॒ । वि॒श्व॒ऽधा॒यः॒ । मन्यो॒ इति॑ । व॒ज्रि॒न् । अ॒भि । माम् । आ । व॒वृ॒त्स्व॒ । हना॑व । दस्यू॑न् । उ॒त । बो॒धि॒ । आ॒पेः ॥
हे सहुरे शत्रूणां सहनशील विश्वधायः विश्वस्य धर्तमन्यो अयं जनोऽहं ते तव अस्मि कर्मकृत् । यत एवमतः प्रतीचीनः प्रतिगन्ता अर्वाङ् अस्मदभिमुखं मा मां उप इहि उपागच्छ। हे मन्यो वज्रिन् माम् अभि आ ववृत्स्व अभ्यावर्तस्व । किमर्थमभ्यागमनमिति चेदुच्यते । हनाव आवां दस्यून् शत्रून्। उत अपि च आपेः बन्धुं बोधि बुध्यस्व ॥
Come hither. I am all thine own; advancing turn thou to me, Victorious, All-supporter!
Come to me, Manyu, Wielder of the Thunder: bethink thee of thy friend, and slay the Dasyus.
Here I am—yours! Come right up here near to me face to face, o
victorious one who suckles all.
Battle Fury, mace-bearer; turn here toward me—we two shall smite the Dasyus—and be mindful of your friend.
Ich bin ja dein, so wende dich zu mir hin, komm mir entgegen siegreich, alles schenkend; O Manju, komme mit dem Blitze zu mir, gedenk des Freundes, lass den Feind uns schlagen.
Ich hier bin dein, komme zurück zu mir her, du Überlegener, Allstärkender! Manyu, Keulenträger, wende dich mir zu; wir wollen beide die Dasyu´s schlagen, und gedenke deines Freundes!
अ॒भि प्रेहि॑ दक्षिण॒तो भ॑वा॒ मेऽधा॑ वृ॒त्राणि॑ जङ्घनाव॒ भूरि॑ । जु॒होमि॑ ते ध॒रुणं॒ मध्वो॒ अग्र॑मु॒भा उ॑पां॒शु प्र॑थ॒मा पि॑बाव ॥
अ॒भि । प्र । इ॒हि॒ । द॒क्षि॒ण॒तः । भ॒व॒ । मे॒ । अध॑ । वृ॒त्राणि॑ । ज॒ङ्घ॒ना॒व॒ । भूरि॑ । जु॒होमि॑ । ते॒ । ध॒रुण॑म् । मध्वः॑ । अग्र॑म् । उ॒भौ । उ॒प॒ऽअं॒शु । प्र॒थ॒मा । पि॒बा॒व॒ ॥
हे मन्यो अभि प्रेहि अभिगच्छ। मम युद्धं गत्वा च मे मम दक्षिणतो भव । अध अथ आवां वृत्राणि शत्रून् भूरि प्रभूतं जङ्नाव हनाव । ते तुभ्यम् अग्रं श्रेष्ठं मध्वः मधु सोमरसं जुहोमि । उभौ त्वं चाहं च उपांशु अप्रकाशं प्रथमा प्रथमौ सन्तौ पिबाव ॥ ॥१८॥
“Approach, be upon my right, let us slay a multitude of foes; I offer to you the best Soma, the sustainer;let us both drink it first in privacy.”
Approach, and on my right hand hold thy station: so shall we slay a multitude of foemen.
The best of meath I offer to support thee: may we be first to drink thereof in quiet.
Go forth on attack: be on my right side. Then we shall keep smiting obstacles in abundance.
I offer to you the foundation and the top of the honey. We two shall
both first drink silently.
Komm her zu mir und steh zu meiner Rechten, dann werden viele Feinde wir erschlagen; Ich giess dir zu des Honigs Seim, der Kraft gibt, wir beide wollen leis' als erste trinken.
Geh drauf los, bleib zu meiner Rechten, dann wollen wir beide viele Feinde erschlagen. Ich opfere dir den Rest, die Blume des Somatrankes. Beide wollen wir schweigend zuerst trinken.
