ऋषिगृत्समद (आङ्गिरसः शौनहोत्रः पश्चाद्) भार्गवः शौनकः

इन्धा॑नो अ॒ग्निं व॑नवद्वनुष्य॒तः कृ॒तब्र॑ह्मा शूशुवद्रा॒तह॑व्य॒ इत् । जा॒तेन॑ जा॒तमति॒ स प्र स॑र्सृते॒ यंयं॒ युजं॑ कृणु॒ते ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॑: ॥
इन्धा॑नः । अ॒ग्निम् । व॒न॒व॒त् । व॒नु॒ष्य॒तः । कृ॒तऽब्र॑ह्मा । शू॒शु॒व॒त् । रा॒तऽह॑व्यः । इत् । जा॒तेन॑ । जा॒तम् । अति॑ । सः । प्र । स॒र्सृ॒ते॒ । यम्ऽय॑म् । युज॑म् । कृ॒णु॒ते । ब्रह्म॑णः । पतिः॑ ॥
अग्निमिन्धानः ब्रह्मणस्पतेर्यागार्थंअग्निम्प्रज्वलयन्यजमानः वनुष्यतोहिंसिष्यतोहिंसां कुर्वतोवाश- त्रून् वनवत् वनुयाथिंस्यात् वनुष्यतिर्हन्तिकर्मेतियास्कः । इदितिचार्थे किञ्च कृतब्रह्मा ब्रह्मस्तोत्रङ्कृतं येनसतथोक्तः रातहव्यः रातन्दत्तंहव्यंहविर्येन एवम्भूतःसन् शूशुवत् वर्धते टुओश्विगतिवृद्भ्योः अस्मा- ण्ण्यन्ताल्लुङिरूपम् तथासयजमानः जातेनपुत्रेणजातंउत्पादितंस्वस्य पौत्रं अतिप्रसर्सृते अतीत्यभृशं प्रसरति पौत्रमपिपस्यन् चिरकालञ्जीवेदित्यर्थः सर्तेर्यङ्लुगन्ताद्भ्यत्ययेनात्मनेपदम् यंयंयजमानम्ब्रह्म- णस्पतिः स्तोत्रहविषोःस्वीकरणेनयुजं सखायं कृणुतेकुरुते सससमानएवभवतीत्यर्थः ॥ १ ॥
“Kindling the fire, may (the worshipper) overcome the malevolent (disturbers of the rite); may he, repeating prayers, and laden with oblations, prosper; he whom Brahmaṇaspati makes his associates, lives to behold the son of his son.”
HE lighting up the flame shall conquer enemies: strong shall he be who offers prayer and brings his gift.
He with his seed spreads forth beyond another's seed, whomever Brahmanaspati takes for his friend.
Kindling the fire, he will win against those who seek to win. Just he by whom the sacred formulations are made and by whom the oblations are bestowed will swell with strength.
With his offspring he keeps extending himself beyond the offspring (of others)—whomever the lord of the sacred formulation makes his own yokemate.
Wer Agni zeugt, wird über Feinde siegreich sein, gedeihen, wer Gebete spricht und Opfer bringt; Und dessen Stamm wächst über andern Stamm hinaus, wen der Gebets Herr je sich zum Genossen macht.
Wer das Opferfeuer entzündet, wird die Neider überwinden. Wer den Göttern Erbauung schafft und Opfer spendet, wird die Übermacht haben. Der überdauert den Sohn von seinem Sohne, wen immer Brahmanaspati zu seinem Verbündeten macht.
Зажигающий жертвенный костер победит желающих победить.
Сотворивший молитву, принесший жертву усилится.
Тот намного переживет рожденного от рожденного,
Кого Брахманаспати делает (своим) союзником.
वी॒रेभि॑र्वी॒रान्व॑नवद्वनुष्य॒तो गोभी॑ र॒यिं प॑प्रथ॒द्बोध॑ति॒ त्मना॑ । तो॒कं च॒ तस्य॒ तन॑यं च वर्धते॒ यंयं॒ युजं॑ कृणु॒ते ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॑: ॥
वी॒रेभिः॑ । वी॒रान् । व॒न॒व॒त् । व॒नु॒ष्य॒तः । गोभिः॑ । र॒यिम् । प॒प्र॒थ॒त् । बोध॑ति । त्मना॑ । तो॒कम् । च॒ । तस्य॑ । तन॑यम् । च॒ । व॒र्ध॒ते॒ । यम्ऽय॑म् । युज॑म् । कृ॒णु॒ते । ब्रह्म॑णः । पतिः॑ ॥
सयजमानः वीरेभिः वीरैरात्मीयैःपुत्रैः वनुष्यतोहिंसतः वीरान् शत्रुपुत्रान् वनवत् वनुयात् हिं- स्यात् अपिच गोभिःसहितंरयिन्धनम्पप्रथत् प्रथयति विस्तारयति प्रथयतेर्लुङिचङ्येतद्रूपम् तथात्मना आत्मनैवबोधति सर्वञ्जानाति अनन्याधीनज्ञानोभवतीत्यर्थः किञ्च त्स्ययजमानस्य तोकम्पुत्रः तनयं विभक्तिव्यत्ययः तनयस्तत्पुत्रश्चवर्धते प्रवृद्धोभवति तदातोकन्तनयं पुत्रम्पौत्रञ्चब्रह्मणस्पतिर्वर्धयति वृधिरन्तर्भावितण्यर्थोद्रष्टव्यः अन्यद्गतम् ॥ २ ॥
“(Surrounded) by his descendants, may he surpas the malevolent descendants (of his adversaries), for he is famed for great wealth of cattle, and understands (all things) of himself; his sons and grandsons prosper whom Brahmaṇaspati makes his associate.”
With heroes he shall overcome his hero foes, and spread his wealth by kine wise by himself is be.
His children and his children's children
grow in strength, whomever Brahmanaspati takes for his friend.
With his heroes he will win against the heroes who seek to win. With his cows he will expand his wealth. He (thus) attends to himself,
and his progeny and posterity increase—whomever the lord of the sacred formulation makes his own yokemate.
Durch Männer wird die Feinde der bewältigen, Besitz an Rindern mehren, stets darauf bedacht, Und mehren seiner Kinder und der Enkel Schar, wen der Gebets Herr je sich zum Genossen macht.
Mit seinen Söhnen wird die Söhne des Neiders überwinden, mit Kühen seinen Reichtum ausbreiten - er merkt es an sich selbst, sein Same und Kindeskind nimmt zu - wen immer Brahmanaspati zu seinem Verbündeten macht.
(Своими) героями он победит героев, желающих победить,
Коровами распространит (свое) богатство – (так) он заботится о себе,
Дети и внуки возрастают у того,
Кого Брахманаспати делает (своим) союзником.
सिन्धु॒र्न क्षोद॒: शिमी॑वाँ ऋघाय॒तो वृषे॑व॒ वध्रीँ॑र॒भि व॒ष्ट्योज॑सा । अ॒ग्नेरि॑व॒ प्रसि॑ति॒र्नाह॒ वर्त॑वे॒ यंयं॒ युजं॑ कृणु॒ते ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॑: ॥
सिन्धुः॑ । न । क्षोदः॑ । शिमी॑ऽवान् । ऋ॒घा॒य॒तः । वृषा॑ऽइव । वध्री॑न् । अ॒भि । व॒ष्टि॒ । ओज॑सा । अ॒ग्नेःऽइ॑व । प्रऽसि॑तिः । न । अ॑ह । वर्त॑वे । यम्ऽय॑म् । युज॑म् । कृ॒णु॒ते । ब्रह्म॑णः । पतिः॑ ॥
सिन्धुः स्यन्दनशीलानदीक्षोदोन क्षुद्यमानङ्कूलंयथाभिनत्तितथा शिमीवान् शिमीतिकर्मनाम ब्रह्मणस्पतेःपरिचरणात्मनाकर्मणायुक्तोयजमानः ऋघायतोहिंसतःशत्रून् ओजसाबलेनअभिवष्टि हन्तुमभितःकामयते व्शक्रान्तौ इदमपरन्निदर्शनम् वृषेववध्रीन् वध्रयोनिष्पिष्टमुष्कानिर्वीर्याबली- वर्दाः तान् यथावृषासेचनसमर्थः सवीर्योवृषभोभिभवति तद्वत् शत्रूनभिभवतीत्यर्थः अपिचासौअग्ने- रिवप्रसितिः प्रसीयतेबद्भ्यतेनयेतिप्रसितिर्ज्वाला षिञ् बन्धने करणेक्तिन् यथा अग्नेर्ज्वालाअप्रतिहत- प्रसराएवमपिनवर्तवेवारयितुन्निवर्तयितुंवानैवशक्यते अहशब्दोवधारणे वृणोतेरन्तर्भावितण्यर्थात् वर्ततेर्वातुमर्थेतवेन्प्रत्ययः अन्यद्गतम् ॥ ३ ॥
“As a river (washes away) its banks, so the devout worshipper, (of Brahmaṇaspati), overpowers his enemies by his strength, as a bull (overcomes) an ox; like the spreading flame of fire, it is impossible to stop him, whom Brahmaṇaspati makes his associate.”
He, mighty like a raving river's billowy flood, as a bull conquers oxen, overcomes with strength.
Like Agni's blazing rush he may not be restrained, whomever Brahmanaspati takes for his friend.
Vehement like a river in its surge, with his might he asserts his will over those who seek to act with balls, like a bull over castrated steers.
Like the onslaught of fire he is not to be obstructed—whomever the lord of the sacred formulation makes his own yokemate.
Wie Wasser strömt die rege Flut des Zürnenden, ein Mann, bezwingt mit Macht er die Verschnittenen, Wie Feuers Andrang ist zu hemmen nimmer der, wen der Gebets Herr je sich zum Genossen macht.
Wild wie die Stromflut, übermag er an Kraft die Drohenden wie der Bulle die verschnittenen Ochsen; wie der Andrang des Feuers ist er nicht aufzuhalten, wen immer Brahmanaspati zu seinem Verbündeten macht.
Бурный, как стремнина реки, он силой
Навязывает (свою) волю угрожающим (ему), словно бык - волам,
Словно порыв огня, нельзя удержать того,
Кого Брахманаспати делает (своим) союзником.
तस्मा॑ अर्षन्ति दि॒व्या अ॑स॒श्चत॒: स सत्व॑भिः प्रथ॒मो गोषु॑ गच्छति । अनि॑भृष्टतविषिर्ह॒न्त्योज॑सा॒ यंयं॒ युजं॑ कृणु॒ते ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॑: ॥
तस्मै॑ । अ॒र्ष॒न्ति॒ । दि॒व्याः । अ॒स॒श्चतः॑ । सः । सत्व॑ऽभिः । प्र॒थ॒मः । गोषु॑ । ग॒च्छ॒ति॒ । अनि॑भृष्टऽतविषिः । ह॒न्ति॒ । ओज॑सा । यम्ऽय॑म् । युज॑म् । कृ॒णु॒ते । ब्रह्म॑णः । पतिः॑ ॥
तस्मैयजमानायदिव्यादिविभवावृष्टिलक्षणाः आपः असश्चतः असज्यमानाः अनिरुद्धाः सत्यः अर्षन्तिगच्छन्ति प्राप्नुवन्ति अर्तेर्लेटिरूपम् तथासयजमानः सत्वभिः सत्वानः साधकाः परिचारकाः तैः सहितः प्रथमोन्येभ्योयजमानेभ्यः पूर्वभावीसन् गोषुगच्छति गवादिधनम्प्राप्नोतीत्यर्थः किञ्च अनिभृष्टतविषिः तविषीतिबलनाम अनिभृष्टापरैरबाधितातविषीबलंयस्यतादृशः सन् ओजसाब- लेनहन्तिशत्रून् ॥ ४ ॥
“For him, the unobstructed rains of heaven descend; first among the devout, he acqires (wealth) in cattle; of irresistible vigour, he destroys his enemies by his strength, whom Brahmaṇaspati makes his associate.”
For him the floods of heaven flow never failing down: first with the heroes he goes forth to war for kine.
He slays in unabated vigour with great might, whomever Brahmanaspati takes for his friend.
The heavenly (waters), never drying up, stream to him. As the first, he goes with his warriors to (the contests for) cows.
Having power that cannot be blunted, he strikes with might—whomever the lord of the sacred formulation makes his own yokemate.
Und unversieglich rinnen Himmelswasser ihm, zuerst erbeutet Rinder er mit tapfrer Schar, Von ungebeugter Stärke sieget der mit Macht, wen der Gebets Herr je sich zum Genossen macht.
Für ihn strömen die himmlischen Gewässer unversieglich; als Erster gelangt er mit seinen Kriegern zu Rindern, mit ungeschwächter Kraft schlägt er mächtig, wen immer Brahmanaspati zu seinem Verbündeten macht.
Для него струятся небесные неиссякающие (воды),
Он первый с воинами отправляется (на завоевание) коров,
С неослабной силой мощно поражает тот,
Кого Брахманаспати делает (своим) союзником.
तस्मा॒ इद्विश्वे॑ धुनयन्त॒ सिन्ध॒वोऽच्छि॑द्रा॒ शर्म॑ दधिरे पु॒रूणि॑ । दे॒वानां॑ सु॒म्ने सु॒भग॒: स ए॑धते॒ यंयं॒ युजं॑ कृणु॒ते ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॑: ॥
तस्मै॑ । इत् । विश्वे॑ । धु॒न॒य॒न्त॒ । सिन्ध॑वः । अच्छि॑द्रा । शर्म॑ । द॒धि॒रे॒ । पु॒रूणि॑ । दे॒वाना॑म् । सु॒म्ने । सु॒ऽभगः॑ । सः । ए॒ध॒ते॒ । यम्ऽय॑म् । युज॑म् । कृ॒णु॒ते । ब्रह्म॑णः । पतिः॑ ॥
तस्माइत् तस्माएवयजमानायविश्वेसिन्धवः सर्वाःस्यन्दनशीलानद्यः धुनयन्त चलयन्ति एतदभी ष्टफलसिद्भ्यर्थम्प्रवहन्तीत्यर्थः तथाअच्छिद्राअच्छिद्राणि छिद्ररहितानिसन्ततानि पुरूणिबहूनिशर्मश- र्माणिसुखानिदधिरे तस्माएवधार्यन्ते यद्वा शर्मेतिगृहनाम छिद्ररहितानिबहूनि सदनानिधार्यन्ते सयजमानः सुभगः शोभनधनः देवानांसुम्ने देवैःप्रत्तेसुखेवर्तमानः सन् एधते वर्धते शिष्टंस्पष्टम् ॥ ५ ॥ऋजुरितिचतुरृच्ञ्चतुर्थंसूक्तं गृत्समदस्यार्षञ्जागतम्ब्राह्मणस्पत्यम् तथाचानुक्रान्तम्-ऋजुश्चतुष्क- मिति गतोविनियोगः ।
“Verily, for him all rivers flow; him do uninterrupted and numerous plural asures await; blessed with the felicity of the gods, he ever prospers, whom Brahmaṇaspati makes his associate.”
All roaring rivers pour their waters down for him, and many a flawless shelter hath been granted him.
Blest with the happiness of Gods he prospers well, whomever Brahmanaspati takes for his friend.
Just to him do all the rivers roar. They have provided many unbroken shelters.
In the favor of the gods, having good fortune, he blazes forth—whomever the lord of the sacred formulation makes his own yokemate.
Für ihn ergiessen rauschend alle Ströme sich, verleihen viele sichere Beschirmung ihm, Und in der Götter Gunst gedeiht der glückliche, wen der Gebets Herr je sich zum Genossen macht.
Ihm rauschen alle Ströme und vervielfältigten ihren lückenlosen Schirm; glücklich gedeiht in der Götter Gunst, wen immer Brahmanaspati zu seinem Verbündeten macht.
Это для него журчат все реки,
(Ему) устроено много надежных укрытий,
Счастливый, в милости у богов тот,
Кого Брахманаспати делает (своим) союзником.
