यस्यनिः श्वसितंवेदायोवेदेभ्योऽखिलञ्जगत् । निर्ममेतमहंवन्देविद्यातीर्थमहेश्वरम् ॥ १ ॥वागीशाद्याःसुमनसः सर्वार्थानामुपक्रमे । यन्नत्वाकृतकृत्याःस्युस्तन्नमामिगजाननम् ॥ २ ॥निहोतेतिषळ्रुचन्नवमंसूक्तङ्गृत्समदस्यार्षं निहोतेत्यनुक्रान्तत्वात् अनुक्तत्वान्त्रिष्टुप् मण्डलादिपरि- भाषयाग्निर्देवता प्रातरनुवाकाश्विनशस्त्रयोराग्नेयेक्रतौत्रैष्टुभेछन्दस्यस्यविनियोगःअथैतस्याइतिखण्डे- सूत्रितम्—निहोताहोतृषदनइतिसूक्तेइति अग्निप्रणयनेआद्येऋचौविनियुक्ते पञ्चम्याम्पौर्णमास्यामि- तिखण्डेसूत्रितम्—निहोताहोतृषदनेविदानइतिद्वेइति ।ग्रुत्समदःस्तौति होतादेवानामाह्वाताविदानोविद्वान् त्वेषः प्रवृद्धः दीदिवान् दीप्यमानः सुदक्षः शोभनबलः अदब्धव्रतप्रमतिः अदब्धानिअहिंसितानिव्रतानिकर्माणियस्याःसाअदब्धव्रतप्रमतिः प्रकृ- ष्टाबुद्धिःयस्य सतथोक्तः वसिष्ठः सर्वस्यवासयितृतमः वासयतेस्तृजन्तस्यइष्ठनिरूपं सहस्रम्भरः सहस्र- स्यानेकविधस्यभर्ताविहरणेननानाविधरूपस्यधारकइत्यर्थः यद्वा सहस्रस्यसर्वस्यभर्ता तथाचवाज- सनेयकेम्—सर्वंवैसहस्रंसर्वम्भरइत्येवतदाहेति । शुचिजिह्वः शुचिर्दीप्ताजिह्वाज्वालायस्यसतथोक्तः एवम्भूतोग्निः होतृषदने होतात्रसीदतीतिहोतृषदनमुत्तरावेदी अधिकरणेल्युट् तत्रन्यसदत् नितरांसी- दतु उक्तार्थेब्राह्मणम्—निहोताहोतृषदनेविदानइत्यग्निर्वैदेवानांहोतातस्यैतद्धोतृषदनंयदुत्तरवेदीना- भिस्त्वेषोदीदिवाँअसदत्सुदक्षइत्यासन्नोहिसतर्हिभवत्यदब्धव्रतप्रमतिर्वसिष्ठइत्यग्निर्वैदेवानांवसिष्ठः सहस्रम्भरःशुचिजिह्वोअग्निरित्येषाहवाअस्यसहस्रम्भरतायदेनमेकंसन्तम्बहुधाविहरन्तीति ॥ १ ॥
“May Agni, the invoker (of the gods), the intelligent, the resplendent, the radiant, the very powerful; he who knows (how to maintain) his rites undisturbed; who is steady in (his own) plural ce, and is the cherisher of thousands, sit in the station of the invoking priest.”
ACCUSTOMED to the Herald's place, the Herald hath seated him, bright, splendid, passing mighty,
Whose foresight keeps the Law from violation, excellent, pure-tongued, bringing thousands, Agni.
The Hotri who is found on the Hotri's seat has sat down (there), the fierce, the resplendent, the dexterous one, the protector of (his own) infallible laws 1, the highest Vasu, he who brings thousandfold (gain), the pure-tongued Agni.
(As) Hotar, once found, he sat down in the Hotar’s seat, glittering, shining, very skillful,
giving forethought to his unfalsifiable commandments, the best one bringing a thousand (goods), flame-tongued Agni.
Der Opfrer liess zum Opfersitz sich nieder, der weise, helle, leuchtend, reich an Kräften, Der beste, sorgend für die heil'ge Ordnung, mit lichter Zunge Agni vieles schenkend.
Der Hotri hat sich auf seinem Hotri-Sitz als Bekannter niedergesetzt, der funkelnde, leuchtende, wohlverständige, der für die unverletzlichen Gebote sorgt, der beste, hellzüngige Agni, der Tausend einbringt.

हेवृषभ अभिमतफलवर्षक हेअग्ने त्वन्दूतः अस्मदीयेयज्ञेदेवाह्वानार्थन्दूतोभव त्वमुत्वमेवनोस्माकं प्रस्पाः आपद्भ्यः पारयितापाताचभव किञ्च त्वंवस्योवसुनोधनस्यआप्रणेताअस्मदाभिमुख्येनप्रापयि- ताभव अप्रयुच्छन् अप्रमाद्यन् दीद्यत् दीदयतिर्दीप्तिकर्मा शोभमानः त्वन्नोस्माकं तोकस्यपुत्रस्यतने तनोतिविस्तारयतिकुलप्रितितनः पौत्रः तस्मिन् अस्मदीयानान्तनूनाङ्गोपाः गोपायितातथाचब्राह्मण- म्—अग्निर्वैदेवानाङ्गोपाअग्निमेवतत्सर्वतोगोप्तारम्परिदत्तआत्मनेचयजमानायँचेति । तादृशस्त्वं- चगोपायिताभवामीतिबोधिबुध्यस्व ॥ २ ॥
“Showerer (of benefits), Agni, be you our messenger (to the gods); our preserver from evil; the conveyer to us of wealth; the protector of our sons and grandsons, and of our person ns; understand (our prayer), ever heedful and resplendent.”
Envoy art thou, protector from the foeman, strong God, thou leadest us to higher blessings.
Refulgent, be an ever-heedful keeper, Agni, for us and for our seed offspring.
Be thou our messenger, be our protector far and wide; be thou, O bull, a leader towards greater wealth. O Agni! for the continuation of our children and of ourselves be thou an unremitting, brilliant protector.
You are the messenger, and you are our protector afar; you, bull, are our leader to a better (state).
O Agni, for the prolonging of our progeny and of our own selves,
become, as you shine, a herdsman who does not stay away.
Du bist uns Bote, du uns stets Beschirmer, du führst uns hin, o Stier, zu schönerm Gute; Sei, Agni, du uns unabläss'ger Hüter zum Fortbestehn für uns und unsre Kinder.
Du bist der Bote, du auch unser mittelbarer Schirmer; du, Bulle, führest zum Glück. O Agni, sei du mit deinem Lichte der unablässige Schützer zur Fortdauer unseres Samens, unserer eigenen Personen!

हेअग्ने परमेउत्कृष्टेजन्मन् जायतेप्रादुर्भवत्यस्मिन्नितिजन्मस्थानन्द्यौः तस्मिन्द्युलोकेवस्थिताय- तेतुभ्यंविधेम स्तुतिभिःपरिचरेम अवरेद्युलोकादधस्तनेसधस्थेन्तरिक्षेस्थितायतुभ्यंस्तोमैः स्तोत्रै- र्विधेम परिचरेम यद्यस्माद्योनेः प्रुथिवीरूपातस्थानात्त्वम् उदास्थि उद्गतोसि प्रादुर्भूतोसि तम्पृथिवी- प्रदेशंयजेपूजयामि तत्रहिसमिद्धेसमिद्भिःसमिध्यमानेत्वेत्वयि हवींषिपुरोडाशादीनि प्रजुहुरेअध्व- र्य्वादयः प्रजुह्वति जुहोतोर्लिटिरूपम् ॥ ३ ॥
पाठस्तु— विधेम त इति।
हेऽग्ने ते तव परमे जन्मनि विधेम वयं ज्ञानेन परिचरेम।
सधस्थे ऽस्माभिः सह स्थातुं योग्येऽपरे निकृष्टे भूलोकवर्तिनि जन्मनि स्तोमैः स्तोत्रैर्विधेम परिचरेम।
यस्माद् योनेर् इष्टकचितिरूपात् स्थानाद् उदारिथ त्वमुद्रत आविर्भूतोऽसि तां योनिं यजे पूजयामि।
समिद्धे सभ्यक्प्रज्वलिते त्वयि हवींषि प्रजुहुर ऋत्विजः प्रकर्षेण जुह्वाति।
“We adore you, Agni, in your loftiest birth-(plural ce), and with hymns in thine inferior station; I worship that seat whence you have issued; the priests have offered you, when kindled oblations.”
May we adore thee in thy loftiest birthplace, and, with our praises, in thy lower station.
The place whence thou issued forth I worship: to thee well kindled have they paid oblations.
May we worship thee at thy highest birth (-place), O Agni; may we worship thee with praises in thy lower abode. I honour the womb from which thou hast sprung. When thou hast been kindled, they have offered offerings in thee.
I Let us pay homage to thee in thy highest birth, O Agni;
Let us pay homage with praises in thy lower abode;
The place of birth whence thou didst come, to that I offer;
In thee when kindled they offered the oblations.
We would do honor to you, Agni, in your highest birth; we would do honor with praises in your seat below.
The womb from which you arose, I sacrifice to that. The oblations have been poured forth into you, when kindled.
Wir huld'gen, Agni, dir in höchster Heimath, mit Liedern dir im untersten Bereiche; Aus welchem Schoosse du entsprangst, den ehr' ich; dir, dem entflammten, wurden Tränk' ergossen.
Wir wollen dir dienen an deinem höchsten Geburtsort, o Agni; wir wollen dir mit Lobliedern dienen an deinem unteren Aufenthaltsort. Aus welchem Schoße du entsprungen bist, den verehre ich. In dir, wurden von jeher die Opferspenden geopfert.

अग्ने॑ । यज॑स्व । ह॒विषा॑ । यजी॑यान् । श्रु॒ष्टी । दे॒ष्णम् । अ॒भि । गृ॒णी॒हि॒ । राधः॑ । त्वम् । हि । असि॑ । र॒यि॒ऽपतिः॑ । र॒यी॒णाम् । त्वम् । शु॒क्रस्य॑ । वच॑सः । म॒नोता॑ ॥
हेअग्ने यजीयान् यष्टृतमस्त्वं हविषास्मद्दत्तेनयजस्व देवान्संयोजयदेष्णन्देयंराधोन्नंश्रुष्टी श्रुष्टीति- क्षिप्रनाम क्षिप्रंअभिगृणीहि देवानाम्पुरतः इदंस्वादुतरमिदंस्वादुतरमितिब्रूहि यद्वा श्रुष्टीक्षिप्रकारी त्वन्देष्णन्देयंराधोधनंअभिगृणीहि अस्मदाभिमुख्येनब्रूहिप्रयच्छेत्यर्थः दानसामर्थ्यन्दर्शयति त्वंरयीणां- धनानाम्मध्येरयिपतिः उत्तमधनस्यपतिरसिहि यद्वा रयीणांरयिपतिरित्यत्रैकोरयिशब्दोनुवादः त्वं- शुक्रस्यदीप्तस्यवचसः अस्मदीयस्यस्तोत्रस्यमनोताप्रज्ञाताभवसि यद्वा मानयिता ॥ ४ ॥
“Agni, who are the chief of sacrificers, worship (the gods) with the oblation, and earnestly commend to them the (sacrificial) food that is to be given (them); for you, indeed, are the soverign lord of riches; you are the appreciator of our pious prayer.”
Agni, best Priest, pay worship with oblation; quickly commend the gift to be presented;
For thou art Lord of gathered wealth and treasure. of the bright song of praise thou art inventor.
Agni, being the best sacrificer perform thou the sacrifice with the oblation. With thy readiness to hear (us) hail our gift, the wealth (which we offer). For thou art the treasure-lord of treasures; thou art the deviser of brilliant speech.
O Agni, perform sacrifice yourself with an oblation, as superior
sacrificer. With attentive hearing greet giving and generosity,
for you are the wealth-lord of wealth, you the minder of brilliant
speech.
Mit Opfertrank, o bester Opfrer, opfre, nimm willig an die Gaben, die Geschenke; Denn du ja bist der Schatzherr aller Schätze, und du Erreger glanzbegabter Lieder.
Agni, opfere du die Spende als der bessere Opferer! Befürworte pünktlich die Schenkung, die Ehrengabe, denn du bist der Herr der Reichtümer, du der Erdenker glänzender Rede!
О Агни, принеси в жертву возлияние как лучший жертвователь!
С (твоей) способностью благосклонно слушать прими радушно дар (и) подношение!
Ведь ты господин богатств,
Ты – изобретатель блистательной речи!

दस्मदर्शनीयहेअग्ने दिवेदिवेप्रतिदिनमग्निहोत्रकालेजायमानस्यते तवउभयंवसव्यन्दिव्यं भौमञ्चव- सु वस्वादित्वात्स्वार्थिकोयप्रत्ययः तादृशमुभयंवसुनक्षीयते नहीयते अस्योभयविधधनसद्भावेमन्त्र- वर्णः त्वंह्यग्नेदिव्यस्यराजसित्वम्पार्थिवस्येत्यत्रोक्तः । अतस्त्वञ्जरितारं तवस्तोत्रङ्कुर्वाणमिमंयजमानं- क्षुमन्तमन्नवन्तं कीर्तिमन्तंवाकृधिकुरु किञ्च स्वपत्यस्यशोभनापत्ययुक्तस्यरायोधनस्यपतिं स्वामिनं- कृधिकुरु ॥ ५ ॥ साकमेधेपर्वणिपूर्वेद्युरनुसवनन्तिस्रइष्टयःकर्तव्याः प्रथमायामग्नेरनीकवतःसैनानीकेनेतियाज्या तथाततः साकमेधाइतिखण्डेसूत्रितम्—सैनानीकेनसुविदत्रोअस्मेइति ।
“Beautiful Agni, the two dwelling-plural ces (heaven and earth) of you, who are born day by day, never perish; confer upon him who praises you (abundant) food, and make him the master of riches, (supporting) virtuous offering.”
The twofold opulence, O Wonder-Worker, of thee new-born each day never decreases.
Enrich with food the man who lauds thee, Agni: make him the lord of wealth with noble offspring.
Thy wealth of both kinds 1 never fails, when thou art born (kindled) day by day, "O wonderful one. Make thy singer, O Agni, rich in food; make him the lord of wealth with excellent offspring.
As you are born day after day, wondrous one, your goods of both types are not exhausted:
Agni, make the singer rich in cattle; make him lord of wealth in good descendants.
Nicht schwindet dies dein beiderseit'ges Wohlthun, der Tag für Tag du neu erstehst, o hehrer; Den Sänger mache nahrungsreich, o Agni, und zum Gebieter kinderreicher Habe.
Dein beiderseitiger Reichtum erschöpft sich nicht, der du Tag für Tag geboren wirst, o Meister. Mach, Agni, den Sänger reich an Vieh, mach ihn zum Besitzer eines Schatzes an guten Kindern!

हेअग्ने सतादृशस्त्वं एना अनेनानीकेन ज्वालासमूहेनयुक्तस्त्वं सुविदत्रः सुप्रज्ञः सुधनोवास्मेअ- स्माकम्भव देवान् यष्टा देवानांहविःप्रदानेनपूजकः आयजिष्ठः यष्टृतमः अदब्धः केनाप्यतिरस्कृतः गोपाः देवानां गोपायिता उतापिचनोस्माकम्परस्पाः दुरितेभ्यःपारयिताचत्वं द्युमत् कान्तियुक्तं उतापिचरेवत् धन्युक्तंयथाभवतितथास्वस्तिदिदीहि क्षेमेणसर्वतोदीप्यस्व ॥ ६ ॥जोहूत्रइतिषळृचन्दशमंसूक्तङ्गार्त्समदं त्रैष्टुभमाग्नेयं जोहूत्रइत्यनुक्रान्तत्वात् सूक्तविनियोगः पूर्वेण- सहोक्तः ।
“Do you with this (your) host (of attendants), be of good promise to us; do you, the especial worshipper of the gods, their unassailable protector, as well as our preserver, light up (all) with shining and affluent well-being.”
May he, benevolent with this fair aspect, best sacrificer, bring the Gods to bless us.
Sure guardian, our protector from the foemen, shine, Agni, with thine affluence and splendour.
With this face of thine, as a bounteous (lord), a sacrificer to the gods, the best performer of sacrifices with happiness, as an undeceivable guardian and far-reaching protector, shine among us, O Agni, with light and wealth.
With your visage here, (be) easy to find, the sacrificer to the gods who best brings them to sacrifice with blessing.
Undeceivable herdsman and our protector afar, o Agni, brilliantly and richly shine for us.
Mit diesem Glanze, Gut uns reich vertheilend, den Göttern opfernd, schnell zur Gunst sie lockend, Erstrahle uns ein Hüter, unverletzlich, mit Glück und Reichthum, weit hinaus uns schirmend.
Sei du uns gnädig mit diesem Antlitz, den Göttern opfernd und sie zum Heil am besten herbittend; als unbetörter Hirt und als unser mittelbarer Schirmer, schein, o Agni, hell und reich!
Ты с этим ликом (твоим) (будь) самым милостивым для нас,
Принося жертвы богам, лучше всех склоняя их жертвой на благо!
