ऋषिवामदेवो गौतमः
देवताइन्द्राबृहस्पती

छन्दगायत्री
इ॒दं वा॑मा॒स्ये॑ ह॒विः प्रि॒यमि॑न्द्राबृहस्पती । उ॒क्थं मद॑श्च शस्यते ॥
इ॒दम् । वा॒म् । आ॒स्ये॑ । ह॒विः । प्रि॒यम् । इ॒न्द्रा॒बृ॒ह॒स्प॒ती॒ इति॑ । उ॒क्थम् । मदः॑ । च॒ । श॒स्य॒ते॒ ॥
हे इन्द्राबृहस्पती वामास्ये इदं प्रियं हविः सोमरूपम् । प्रक्षिपामीति शेषः । उक्थं शस्त्रं च मदः मदजनकं शस्यते ॥
“(I present) the agreeable oblation to your mouths, Indra and Bṛhaspati, and the hymn and the exhilarating beverage are offered.”
DEAR is this offering in your mouth, O Indra and Brhaspati:
Famed is the laud, the gladdening draught.
This dear oblation here is in your mouth, o Indra and Br̥haspati;
the solemn speech and the exhilarating drink are being announced.
Hier steht der liebe Opfertrank vor euch, Indra-Brihaspati, Verkündet wird euch Spruch und Trunk.
Diese liebe Spende opfere ich in euren Mund, Indra und Brihaspati. Lobgedicht und Trinkfreude wird verkündigt.

अ॒यम् । वा॒म् । परि॑ । सि॒च्य॒ते॒ । सोमः॑ । इ॒न्द्रा॒बृ॒ह॒स्प॒ती॒ इति॑ । चारुः॒ । मदा॑य । पी॒तये॑ ॥
हे इन्द्राबृहस्पती वाम् आस्ये चारुः शोभन: अयं सोमः परि षिच्यते परितो दीयते । मदाय हर्षाय पीतये पानाय च ॥
“This delicious Soma is effused, Indra and Bṛhaspati, for you, (your) drinking and exhilaration.”
This lovely Soma is effused, O Indra and Brhaspati,
For you, to drink it and rejoice.
This soma here is being poured in circles for you, o Indra and Br̥haspati, pleasing, to be drunk to exhilaration.
Euch wird, Indra-Brihaspati, ergossen dieser Somasaft, Der schön zum Trunk und Rausche ist.
Dieser Soma wird euch beiden eingeschenkt, Indra und Brihsapati, der angenehm zum Rausch, zum Trinken ist.

आ । नः॒ । इ॒न्द्रा॒बृ॒ह॒स्प॒ती॒ इति॑ । गृ॒हम् । इन्द्रः॑ । च॒ । ग॒च्छ॒त॒म् । सो॒म॒ऽपा । सोम॑ऽपीतये ॥
हे इन्द्राबृहस्पती । अथ विविच्योच्यते । हे बृहस्पते त्वं च इन्द्रश्च सोमपा सोमपौ युवाँ सोमपीतये सोमपानाय नः गृहम् अस्मद्यागसंबन्धि आ गच्छतम् ॥
“Indra and Bṛhaspati, come to our dwelling, drinkers of Soma, to drink the Soma juice.”
As Soma-drinkers to our house come, Indra and Brhaspati-and Indra-to drink Soma juice.
Come here to our house, o Br̥haspati and Indra,
as soma-drinkers to drink the soma.
O kommt, Indra-Brihaspati, in unser Haus, auch Indra du, Zum Soma Somatrinker ihr.
Kommet zu uns, Indra und Brihaspati; kommet ins Haus, du und Indra, als Somatrinker zum Somatrunk!
При(ходите) к нам, о Индра-Брихаспати,
Приходите домой, (ты, Брихаспати) и Индра,
Пьющие сому, – на питье сомы!
अ॒स्मे इ॑न्द्राबृहस्पती र॒यिं ध॑त्तं शत॒ग्विन॑म् । अश्वा॑वन्तं सह॒स्रिण॑म् ॥
अ॒स्मे इति॑ । इ॒न्द्रा॒बृ॒ह॒स्प॒ती॒ इति॑ । र॒यिम् । ध॒त्त॒म् । श॒त॒ऽग्विन॑म् । अश्व॑ऽवन्तम् । स॒ह॒स्रिण॑म् ॥
अस्या विनियोगः पूर्वमन्त्रेण सहोक्तः । हे इन्द्राबृहस्पती अस्मे अस्मभ्यं रयिं धनं धत्तम् । कीदृशं रयिम् । शतग्विनं शतसंख्याकाभिर्गोभिर्युक्तम् अश्वावन्तम् अश्ववन्तं सहस्रिणं सहस्रसंख्यायुक्तम् ॥
“Grant to us, Indra and Bṛhaspati riches comprising a hundred (cattle), a thousand horses.”
Vouchsafe us riches hundredfold, O Indra, and Brhaspati,
With store of horses, thousandfold.
In us, o Indra and Br̥haspati, place wealth in hundreds of cows,
rich in horses, thousand-fold.
O gebt, Indra-Brihaspati, den Reichthum uns, der hundertfach, An Rossen reich ist, tausendfach.
Bringet uns Reichtum, Indra und Brihaspati, in hundert Kühen bestehend, in Rossen bestehend, tausendfältigen!

सुते सोमेऽभिषुते गीर्भिः स्तुतिभिः । शिष्टं गतम् ॥
“Indra and Bṛhaspati, we invoke you with praises, when the libation is effused, to drink of this Soma juice.”
O Indra. and Brhaspati, we call you when the meath is shed,
With songs, to drink the Soma juice.
Indra and Br̥haspati we invoke with hymns when (the soma) is pressed, to drink of this soma here.
Wir laden euch durch Lieder ein beim Saft, Indra-Brihaspati, Zu trinken diesen Somatrank.
Indra und Brihaspati laden wir mit Lobreden zum Ausgepreßten, zum Trunk dieses Soma.

सोम॑मिन्द्राबृहस्पती॒ पिब॑तं दा॒शुषो॑ गृ॒हे । मा॒दये॑थां॒ तदो॑कसा ॥
सोम॑म् । इ॒न्द्रा॒बृ॒ह॒स्प॒ती॒ इति॑ । पिब॑तम् । दा॒शुषः॑ । गृ॒हे । मा॒दये॑थाम् । तत्ऽओ॑कसा ॥
हे इन्द्राबृहस्पती युवां दाशुषः हविर्दातुर्यजमानस्य गृहे तदोकसा । तदेव यजमानगृहमोको निवासस्थानं ययोस्तौ । तादृशौ सन्तौ सोमं पिबतम् । पीत्वा च मादयेथाम् इति ॥ ॥२५॥
“Drink, Indra and Bṛhaspati, the Soma; in the dwelling of the donor, and be exhilarated in his abode.”
Drink, Indra and Brhaspati, the Soma in the giver's house:
Delight yourselves abiding there.
Drink the soma, o Indra and Br̥haspati, in the house of the pious one. Become exhilarated, being at home with it.
So trinkt, Indra-Brihaspati, den Soma in des Frommen Haus; Berauscht euch, wie ihr's gerne thut.
Trinkt, Indra und Brihaspati, den Soma im Hause des Opferspenders, berauschet euch, die ihr das gewohnt seid!
