ऋषिसुतंभर आत्रेयः
देवताअग्निः

छन्दगायत्री
अग्निं᳓ स्तो᳓मेन बोधय
समिधानो᳓ अ᳓मर्तियम्
हव्या᳓ देवे᳓षु नो दधत्
हे स्तोतः अमर्त्यम् अमरणधर्माणम् अग्निं स्तोमेन स्तोत्रेण बोधय। स्वाभिलषितार्थसिद्धये प्रबोधय । योऽग्निः समिधानः स्तोत्रैः सम्यक् प्रकाशमानः सः नः हव्या अस्मदीयानि हव्यानि हवींषि देवेषु दधत् निदधातु ॥ ॥
ENKINDLING the Immortal, wake Agni with song of praise: may he bear our oblations to the Gods.
Awaken 1 Agni by thy song of praise, kindling (him) the immortal one. May he place our offerings among the gods.
Agni—awaken him with a praise song, kindling the immortal one. He will place our oblations among the gods.
Den Agni weck durch Loblied auf, entzündend den unsterblichen, Zu Göttern bring die Opfer er.
Mit Loblied wecke den Agni, den Unsterblichen entzündend! Er bringe unsere Opferspenden zu den Göttern.
Агни пробуждай восхвалением,
Воспламенив бессмертного.
Пусть передаст он наши жертвы богам!
त᳓म् अध्वरे᳓षु ईळते
देव᳓म् म᳓र्ता अ᳓मर्तियम्
य᳓जिष्ठम् मा᳓नुषे ज᳓ने
मर्ताः मनुष्याः देवं द्योतमानम् अमर्त्यम् अमरणधर्माणं मानुषे मनुष्याणां संबन्धिनि जने लोके यजिष्ठं यष्टृतमं तम् अग्निम् अध्वरेषु सप्ततन्तुषु ईळते स्तुवन्ति ॥
At high solemnities mortal men glorify him the Immortal, best
At sacrifice among mankind.
Him, the immortal god, the mortals magnify at their sacrifices, the best sacrificer among the tribe of men.
Him they invoke in the rites—mortals (invoke) the immortal one, the god—
to be the best sacrificer among the people of Manu,
Ihn preisen bei den Festen sie, den ew'gen Gott, die Sterblichen, Der Menschheit besten Opferer.
Ihn berufen zum Gottesdienst die Sterblichen den unsterblichen Gott, der unter dem Menschenvolk am besten opfert.
Его призывают во время обрядов,
Бога бессмертного, смертные,
Лучше всех жертвующего среди рода человеческого.
तं᳓ हि᳓ श᳓श्वन्त ई᳓ळते
स्रुचा᳓ देवं᳓ घृतश्चु᳓ता
अग्निं᳓ हव्या᳓य वो᳓ळ्हवे
शश्वन्तः बहवः स्तोतारः तं देवम् अग्निम् ईळते स्तुवन्ति । कीदृशास्ते । घृतश्चुता घृतं क्षरन्त्या स्रुचा सहिताः । किमर्थं स्तुवन्ति । हव्याय हव्यवहनार्थं चरुपुरोडाशादिलक्षणं हविः वोढवे वोढुम् ॥
That he may bear their gifts to heaven, all glorify him Agni, God,
With ladle that distilleth oil.
Him indeed they all magnify, the god, with the (sacrificial) ladle that overflows with ghrita, Agni, in order that he may bear the oblation.
Because him do they invoke one after another with a spoon dripping with ghee, him the god
Agni, to convey the oblation.
Denn alle flehen an den Gott, mit fettgefüllten Löffel ihn, Dass Agni fahre ihren Guss.
Denn ihn berufen alle, den Gott, mit schmalzträufendem Löffel, den Agni, daß er die Opferspende befördere.
Его ведь все призывают,
Бога с жертвенной ложкой, сочащейся жиром,
Агни – чтобы он отвез жертву.
अग्नि᳓र् जातो᳓ अरोचत
घ्न᳓न् द᳓स्यूञ् ज्यो᳓तिषा त᳓मः
अ᳓विन्दद् गा᳓ अपः᳓ सु᳓वः
जातः अरण्योर्मथनेन प्रादुर्भूतः अग्निः दस्यून् यज्ञविघ्नकारिणः शत्रून् घ्नन् हिंसन् ज्योतिषा स्वेन तेजसा तमः घ्नन् अरोचत अदीप्यत । किंच गा अपः उदकानि स्वः सूर्यं च अविन्दत् अवेदयत् ॥
Agni shone bright when born, with light killing the Dasyus and the dark:
He found the Kine, the Floods, the Sun.
Agni when born has shone, killing the Dasyus, (killing) darkness by light. He has found the cows, the waters, the sun 1.
Agni shone as soon as he was born, smashing Dasyus and darkness with his light.
He found the cows, the waters, and the sun.
Geboren glänzte Agni, schlug durch Licht Dämonen, Finsterniss, Fand Kühe, Wasser, Himmelsglanz.
Agni erstrahlte eben geboren, die Dasyu´s erschlagend, mit seinem Lichte die Finsternis zerstörend. Er fand die Rinder, die Gewässer, die Sonne.
Агни, едва родившись, запылал,
Убивая дасью, (разгоняя) мрак светом.
Он нашел коров, вoды, солнце.
अग्नि᳓म् ईळे᳓नियं कविं᳓
घृत᳓पृष्ठं सपर्यत
वे᳓तु मे शृण᳓वद् ध᳓वम्
हे जनाः ईळेन्यं स्तुत्यं कविं क्रान्तदर्शिनं घृतपृष्ठं दीप्तोपरिभागम् अग्निं सपर्यत पूजयत । सोऽग्निः मे हवं मदीयमाह्वानं वेतु कामयताम् । शृणवत् शृणोतु च ॥
Serve Agni, God adorable, the Sage whose back is balmed with oil:
Let him approach, and hear my call.
Worship Agni, the sage who should be magnified, whose back is covered with ghrita. May he come and hear my call 1.
Agni, to be invoked as our poet—serve him, ghee-backed!
Let him—he will hear!—track my summons.
Den preisenswerthen Seher ehrt, den Agni, der von Butter trieft, Er komm' und höre meinen Ruf.
Haltet den Agni, den zu rufenden Seher, den schmalzrückigen, in Ehren! Er soll meinem Ruf gern folgen, ihn erhören.
Агни почитайте, поэта,
Достойного призывов, жирноспинного (бога)!
Да придет он, да услышит он мой зов!
अग्निं᳓ घृते᳓न वावृधुः
स्तो᳓मेभिर् विश्व᳓चर्षणिम्
सुआधी᳓भिर् वचस्यु᳓भिः
ऋत्विजः विश्वचर्षणिं विश्वस्य द्रष्टारं स्वाधीभिः शोभनाध्यानैः वचस्युभिः स्तुतिकामैर्देवैः समेतम् अग्निं घृतेन स्तोमेभिः स्तोमैः स्तोत्रैः ववृधुः अवर्धयन् ॥ ॥ ६ ॥ ॥ १ ॥
They have exalted Agni, God of all mankind, with oil and hymns
Of praise, devout and eloquent.
They have made Agni grow by ghrita, him who dwells among all tribes, and by longing, eloquent praises.
Agni, governing all territories, have they increased with ghee and praise songs
of good insight and eloquence.
Mit Schmalz und Liedern haben sie Agni gestärkt, den Menschenhort, Mit andachtsvollen, rauschenden.
Den Agni haben sie mit Schmalz und wohlbedachten, beredten Lobliedern groß gemacht, den allen Völkern Gehörigen.
Агни они подкрепили жиром,
Восхвалениями, внимательными,
Красноречивыми, (его,) принадлежащего всем народам.
