ऋषिपूरुरात्रेयः
देवताअग्निः
मन्त्र5
छन्दअनुष्टुप्
आ᳓ यज्ञइ᳓र् देव म᳓र्तिय
इत्था᳓ त᳓व्यांसम् ऊत᳓ये
अग्निं᳓ कृते᳓ सुअध्वरे᳓
पूरु᳓र् ईळीत अ᳓वसे
हे देव मर्त्यः मनुष्य ऋत्विक् इत्था इत्थं तव्यांसं स्वतेजोभिः प्रवृद्धम् अग्निम् ऊतये तर्पणाय यज्ञैः स्तोत्रैः आ ह्वयति । किंच पूरुः मनुष्यः स्तोता कृते स्वध्वरे शोभने क्रतौ तम् अग्निम् अवसे रक्षणाय ईळीत स्तौति ॥
GOD, may a mortal call the Strong hither, with solemn rites, to aid,
A man call Agni to protect when sacrifice is well prepared.
May the mortal truly by sacrifices, O god, (magnify) the stronger one for help; may the Pûru, when good service has been performed, magnify Agni (and thereby draw him) hither for his aid.
Here, o god, by his sacrifices the mortal (should summon) the mightier one for help;
Pūru should summon Agni to give help, when a good rite has been
performed.
Durch Opfer flehe dich, o Gott, der Sterbliche um Beistand an; Um Huld den starken Agni recht der Mensch bei schön vollbrachtem Fest.
Mit Opfersprüchen soll, o Gott, der Sterbliche den so viel Stärkeren zur Gunst, der Puru den Agni zur Gnade anrufen, da ein schönes Opfer bereitet ist.
О бог, пусть смертный жертвами (призовет) сюда
(Агни,) гораздо более сильного, (чем другие), – для поддержки,
Пусть Пуру призовет Агни,
Когда приготовлен прекрасный обряд, – на помощь!
अ᳓स्य हि᳓ स्व᳓यशस्तर
आसा᳓ विधर्मन् म᳓न्यसे
तं᳓ ना᳓कं चित्र᳓शोचिषम्
मन्द्र᳓म् परो᳓ मनीष᳓या
हे विधर्मन् । विशिष्टो धर्मो यस्यासौ विधर्मा स्तोता। तस्य संबोधनम् । हे स्तोतः स्वयशस्तरः सुयशसां मध्येऽतिशयेन सुयशास्त्वं मनीषया प्रकृष्टबुद्ध्या साधनेन तं प्रसिद्धम् अस्य अमुं हि अग्निम् आसा आस्येन वाचा मन्यसे स्तौषि । किंविशिष्टमग्निम् । नाकं सुखम् । अकं दुःखम् । न विद्यतेऽकं यस्य सः । तं चित्रशोचिषं चित्रतेजसं मन्द्रं स्तुत्यं परः परस्तात् स्थितम् ॥
Near him thou seemest mightier still in native glory, set to hold
Apart yon flame-hued vault of heaven, lovely beyond the thought of man.
For thou art manifestly considered as his (i. e. Agni's) disposer, highly brilliant by thyself 1: (magnify then Agni who is) a firmament of bright splendour, lovely beyond 2 thought 3.
Since, by reason of the mouth of this one [=both Agni and the poet], o distributor [=sacrificer], you think yourself to have greater glory for yourself,
(you should summon) him, the vault of heaven with his shimmering blaze, the delighting one beyond inspired thinking.
Vor seinen Augen dünkst du dich, o Himmelsraum viel herrlicher; Doch übertrifft an Weisheit er den lieben, lichtgeschmückten Dom.
Denn durch seinen Mund kommst du dir noch selbstherrlicher vor, Vidharman - ihn halte ich für den Himmel, den wunderbar Flammenden, erfreulichen, der jenseits aller Vorstellung.
Ведь это благодаря его устам,
О Видхарман, ты считаешь себя наделенным более самостоятельной славой, (чем другие).
(Я представляю себе) его как небосвод с ярким блеском,
Вызывающий радость, за пределами понимания...
अस्य᳓ वा᳓सा᳓ उ अर्चि᳓षा
य᳓ आ᳓युक्त तुजा᳓ गिरा᳓
दिवो᳓ न᳓ य᳓स्य रे᳓तसा
बृह᳓च् छो᳓चन्ति अर्च᳓यः
यः अग्निः तुजा जगद्रक्षणसमर्थेन बलेन गिरा स्तुत्या अयुक्त संबद्धो भवति दिवो न द्योतमानस्यादित्यस्येव यस्य अग्नेः रेतसा प्रभया कृत्स्नं जगद्व्याप्तं यस्याग्नेः बृहत् बृहन्तः अर्चयः दीप्तयः शोचन्ति प्रकाशन्ते अस्य वै खल्वग्नेः अर्चिषा प्रभया असौ आदित्यः अर्चिष्मान् भवति । उ इति पूरणः ॥
Yea, this is by the light of him whom powerful siong hath bound to act,
Whose bearns of splendour flash on high as though they sprang from heavenly seed.
(It is) yonder (sun?) who verily has been yoked by his (i. e. Agni's) light 1 through the impetuous speech 2—(by the light of Agni) whose flames mightily shine as if (they were made to shine) by the sperm of heaven 3.
Surely it is by the mouth and flame of this one, who is hitched up by thrust and song,
by whose semen, like that of heaven, flames blaze aloft,
Er ist's ja, der mit seinem Glanz und kräft'gem Liede sich verband, Und dessen Strahlen leuchten hell wie durch des Himmels Samenguss.
Durch seinen Mund fürwahr und seine Flamme, der mit Eifer und Lobrede angeschirrt ward, dessen Flammen hoch lohen wie die Blitze durch den Samen des Himmels.
Кто впрягся своим ртом (и) пламенем
Благодаря рвению (жреца и) хвалебной песне,
Чьи языки пламени высоко сверкают,
Словно (молнии) благодаря семени неба...
अस्य᳓ क्र᳓त्वा वि᳓चेतसो
दस्म᳓स्य व᳓सु र᳓थ आ᳓
अ᳓धा वि᳓श्वासु ह᳓वियो
अग्नि᳓र् विक्षु᳓ प्र᳓ शस्यते
विचेतसः सुमतय ऋत्विजः दस्मस्य दर्शनीयस्य अस्य अग्नेः क्रत्वा कर्मणा यज्ञादिना वसु वसूनि धनानि रथे आ दधति । हव्यः यज्ञार्थमाह्वातव्यः सः अग्निः अध अथ उत्पत्त्यनन्तरमेव विश्वासु सर्वासु विक्षु प्रजासु प्र शस्यते स्तूयते ॥
Wealth loads the Wonder-Worker's car through his, the very wise One's power.
Then, meet to be invoked among all tribes, is Agni ghorified.
Through his, the wise one's, insight there is wealth on his, the wonderful (Agni's), chariot. And Agni is praised, he who is to be invoked among all peoples.
And it is by the will of this one—discerning, wondrous—that there are good things here on the chariot [=the sacrifice].
So then Agni is proclaimed as the one to be invoked among all the clans.
Auf seinem Wagen ist das Gut des hehren, weisen an Verstand, Darum ist Agni anzuflehn, in allen Häusern preist man ihn.
Nach dem Ratschluß dieses klugen Meisters ist Gut auf dem Wagen. Darum wird der zu berufene Agni bei allen Clanen gefeiert.
Благодаря силе духа этого удивительного
Прозорливца добро на (нашей) колеснице.
А еще у всех племен Агни
Прославляется как (бог,) достойный призывов.
नू᳐᳓ न इ᳓द् धि᳓ वा᳓रियम्
आसा᳓ सचन्त सूर᳓यः
ऊ᳓र्जो नपाद् अभि᳓ष्टये
पाहि᳓ शग्धि᳓ सुअस्त᳓य
उतइ᳓धि पृत्सु᳓ नो वृधे᳓
हे अग्ने नः अस्मभ्यं वार्यं वरणीयं धनं नु क्षिप्रं प्रयच्छ । इद्धि इति पूरणौ । यतः सूरयः स्तोतारस्त्वत्तः सकाशात् आसा आस्येन स्तोत्रेण सचन्त धनं लभन्ते । किंच हे ऊर्जा नपात् अन्नस्य न पातयितः बलस्य पुत्र वा अभिष्टये अभीच्छते मह्यमन्नं प्रयच्छेति शेषः । पाहि । अस्मानापद्यो रक्ष । स्वस्तये क्षेमाय पश्वादिलक्षणस्य धनस्य क्षेमार्थं शग्धि त्वां याचे ॥ व्यत्ययेन मध्यमः ॥ शक्तो भवेति वा । हे अग्ने उत अपि च पृत्सु पृतनासु नो वृधे समृद्धये एधि भव ॥ ॥ ९ ॥
Now, too, the princes shall obtain excellent riches by our lips.
Protect us for our welfare: lend thy succour, O thou Son of Strength. Be near in fight to prosper us.
Now indeed our liberal lords have manifestly attained 1 treasure. Offspring of vigour! Protect us for the sake of victory! Help us to welfare! And assist us to grow strong in fights i
Since the desirable reward is now just ours, our patrons follow after the mouth (of Agni and the poet).
O child of nourishment, protect us that we prevail. Be capable that we have well-being.
– And be present to strengthen us in battles.
So jetzt auch unsre Opferherrn begehren schönes Gut von dir, Beschütz, beschenke sie zum Heil, zum Beistand, o du Sohn der Kraft; Und sei in Schlachten uns zum Heil.
So bring uns nun wünschenswertes Gut - die freigebigen Patrone stimmen mit dem Munde zu. Kind der Kraft! Nimm uns in Schutz zur Überlegenheit. Tu, was du kannst, zum Heil und sei uns in den Kämpfen zur Stärkung!
(Принеси) же нам сейчас избранный дар!
(Наши) покровители присоединяются (к этому) через уста (бога).
О отпрыск силы, защити нас
Для превосходства! Сделай, что можешь, для счастья!
А также будь (готов) усилить нас в боях!
