ऋषिप्रयस्वन्त आत्रेयाः
देवताअग्निः

छन्दअनुष्टुप्
य᳓म् अग्ने वाजसातम
तुवं᳓ चिन् म᳓न्यसे रयि᳓म्
तं᳓ नो गीर्भिः᳓ श्रवा᳓यियं
देवत्रा᳓ पनया यु᳓जम्
हे अग्ने हे वाजसातम अत्यन्तमन्नद त्वं यं रयिं धनमस्माभिर्दीयमानं हवीरूपं धनं मन्यसे बुध्यसे । चित् इति पादपूरणः। श्रवाय्यं श्रवणीयं प्रशस्यं गीर्भिः स्तुतिभिः युजं युक्तं नः अस्मदीयं हविर्लक्षणं धनं तं देवत्रा देवेषु पनय प्रापयेत्यर्थः ॥
AGNI, best winner of the spoil, cause us to praise before the Gods
As our associate meet for lauds, wealth which thou verily deemest wealth.
1 Whatever good, O Agni, best acquirer of gain, thou thinkest (fit), praise thou 2 that (good), which is celebrated in songs, among the gods as our share.
The wealth that even you hold in regard, o Agni, best winner of
victory’s prize,
that yokemate of ours I will extol with songs as worthy of fame among the gods.
Das Gut, das dir das beste dünkt, o Agni, labungspendenster, Das unsre Lieder preisen hoch, das will vor Göttern rühmen ich,
Der Reichtum, den du selbst für gut hältst, du gewinnbringendster Agni, den streiche für uns mit Lobesworten bei den Göttern heraus, der zum Ruhm gereicht und treu bleibt.
То богатство, о Агни, лучше всех добывающий награду,
О котором ты сам думаешь, –
Его, ведущее к славе, верное,
Расхваливай для нас под (звуки) песен перед богами!
ये᳓ अग्ने ने᳓र᳓यन्ति ते
वृद्धा᳓ उग्र᳓स्य श᳓वसः ।
अ᳓प द्वे᳓षो अ᳓प ह्व᳓रो+++(=अतिहिंसां)+++,
ऽन्य᳓व्रतस्य सश्चिरे ॥
हे अग्ने ये जनाः वृद्धाः पश्वादिलक्षणैर्धनैः समृद्धाः सन्तः ते तुभ्यं नेरयन्ति हवींषि न प्रयच्छन्ति ते उग्रस्य अधिकेन शवसः बलेन अन्नेन वा अप नीताः बलान्नहीना भवन्तीत्यर्थः । किंच अन्यव्रतस्य अन्यद्वैदिकाद्विभक्तं व्रतं कर्म यस्य तस्यासुरस्य द्वेषः त्वत्संबन्धिनं विरोधं ह्वरः अतिहिंसां च अप सश्चिरे आत्मानं प्रापयन्ति ॥
Agni, the great who ward not off the anger of thy power and might
Stir up the wrath and hatred due to one who holds an alien creed.
They, Agni, who do not set into motion for thee (prayers or offerings), when grown full of mighty strength 1, turn away to encounter the hatred and the tricks of him who follows another (i. e. a wrong) law 2.
O Agni, those grown strong by your mighty power who do not send (songs)
(to keep) away hatred, away crookedness, follow (the commandments) of one who is under the commandments of others.
Die, Agni, dir nicht huldigen beim Wachsen deiner starken Kraft, Die sind gerathen stets in Hass und Trug der andersgläubigen.
Die an gewaltiger Macht erstarkt deine Feindschaft nicht erregen, o Agni, die halten sich fern von der Feindschaft, der Tücke des Andersgläubigen.
Те (люди), о Агни, которые не приводят в движение (жертвы) для тебя,
Став процветающими от силы грозного,
Они все больше и больше удаляются (от праведного пути),
(Следуя) ненавести (и) извилистости того, кто придерживается других обетов.
हो᳓तारं त्वा वृणीमहे
अ᳓ग्ने द᳓क्षस्य सा᳓धनम्
यज्ञे᳓षु पूर्वियं᳓ गिरा᳓
प्र᳓यस्वन्तो हवामहे
हे अग्ने प्रयस्वन्तः अन्नवन्तः एतन्नामका वयं दक्षस्य बलस्य साधनं साधकं साधयितारं त्वां होतारं देवानामाह्वातारं वृणीमहे । किंच यज्ञेषु पूर्व्यं मुख्यं त्वां गिरा स्तुतिरूपया वाचा हवामहे स्तुमः ॥
Thee, Agni, would we choose as Priest, the perfecter of strength and skill;
We who bring sacred food invoke with song thee Chief at holy rites.
We choose thee as our Hotri, Agni, the giver of skill; offering delight (to thee) we call with our prayer (thee), the foremost at the sacrifices.
We choose you, o Agni, as our Hotar, ensuring success for our skill. Bringing pleasing offerings, we summon with our song the one who is first in the sacrifices.
Wir wählen dich als Opferer, als Segner, Agni, unsrer Kraft; Wir rufen labungspendend dich zuerst beim Fest durch unser Lied.
Wir erwählen dich, den Kraftwirker, zum Opferpriester, o Agni. Als Ersten bei den Opfern rufen wir unter Lobreden und Bewirtung dich an.
Мы выбираем тебя хотаром, о Агни,
(Тебя,) приводящего к цели силу действия.
Мы призываем тебя как главного на жертвоприношениях,
Принося жертвенную усладу хвалебной песней.
इत्था᳓ य᳓था त ऊत᳓ये
स᳓हसावन् दिवे᳓-दिवे
राय᳓ ऋता᳓य सुक्रतो
गो᳓भिः ष्याम सधमा᳓दो
वीरइः᳓ स्याम सधमा᳓दः
हे सहसावन् बलवन्नग्ने दिवेदिवे अन्वहं वयं ते तव ऊतये रक्षणाय यथा स्याम तथा इत्था इत्थं कुरु । हे सुक्रतो राये धनाय ऋताय यज्ञाय च यथा स्याम तथा कुरु । किंच वयं गोभिः सधमादः सह माद्यन्तः स्याम । वीरैः पुत्रैश्च सधमादः सह माद्यन्तः स्याम । तथा कुरु ॥ ॥ १२ ॥
Here as is needful for thine aid we toil, O Conqueror, day by day,
For wealth, for Law. May we rejoice, Most Wise One! at the feast, with kine, rejoice, with heroes, at the feast.
So that we, O strong one, (may be ready) for thy favour, for wealth and Rita, O highly wise one: thus may we day by day rejoice 1 with cows and rejoice with heroes.
As (we strive) in this way for your help day after day, o powerful one, for wealth and for truth, o you of strong will, we your feasting
companions would be united with cattle and we would be united with heroes.
Wie gern wir wirken Tag für Tag, um dich zu laben, starker Gott, So sein zu echtestem Besitz auch wir, o weiser, heerdenreich und reichbegabt mit Heldenschar.
Mach es so, daß wir Tag für Tag, du Gewaltiger, zu deiner Gnade, zum Reichtum, zum rechten Werke recht seien, du Einsichtsvoller. Wir wollen mit Kühen froh vereint sein, mit Söhnen froh vereint sein.
(Сделай) так, чтобы день за днем,
О могучий, (мы могли рассчитывать) на твою
Помощь, богатство, закон, о наделенный прекрасной силой духа!
