ऋषिविश्वसामात्रेयः
देवताअग्निः

छन्दअनुष्टुप्
प्र᳓ विश्वसामन् अत्रिव᳓द्
अ᳓र्चा पवाक᳓शोचिषे+
यो᳓ अध्वरे᳓षु ई᳓डियो
हो᳓ता मन्द्र᳓तमो विशि᳓
हे विश्वसामन् । ऋषेः संबोधनमेतत् । त्वम् अत्रिवत् अत्रिरिव पावकशोचिषे शोधकदीप्तये तस्मा अग्नये प्र अर्च प्रगाय । यः अग्निः अध्वरेष्वीड्यः सर्वैर्यज्वभिः स्तुत्यः होता देवानामाह्वाता विशि जने मन्द्रतमः स्तुत्यतमः ॥
LIKE Atri, Visvasaman! sing to him of purifying light,
Who must be praised in holy rites, the Priest most welcome in the house.
Lo, Visvasâman! Like Atri sing to him who purifies with his flames, to the Hotri who should be magnified at the sacrifices, most delightful in the clan.
O Viśvasāman, like Atri chant forth to him of purifying flame,
who is to be invoked at the rites as the most delighting Hotar within the clan.
Auf, Viçvasaman, preise laut nach Atri-Art den Flammenden, Der bei den Festen preisenswerth der liebste Priester ist im Haus.
Stimme, o Visvasaman, wie Atri ein Preislied auf den Hellflammigen an, der als der wohlredendste Opferpriester im Clan bei den Opfern zu berufen ist.
Исполни, о Вишвасаман, подобно Атри,
(Гимн) для (бога) с чистым пламенем,
Которого надо восхвалять на обрядах
Как самого радостного хотара у племени.
नि᳓ अग्निं᳓ जात᳓वेदसं
द᳓धाता देव᳓म् ऋत्वि᳓जम्
प्र᳓ यज्ञ᳓ एतु आनुष᳓ग्
अद्या᳓ देव᳓व्यचस्तमः
हे यजमानाः जातवेदसं जातप्रज्ञं जातधनं वा देवं द्योतमानम् ऋत्विजम् ऋतुयष्टारम् अग्निं नि दधात निधत्त । किंच देवव्यचस्तमः देवानामाप्ततमः यज्ञः यज्ञसाधनमस्माभिर्दीयमानं हविः आनुषक् अनुषक्तं यथा भवति तथा अद्य अस्मिन्नहनि तमग्निं प्र एतु प्रगच्छतु ॥
Set Jatavedas in his place, Agni the God and Minister.
Let sacrifice proceed to-day duly, comprising all the Gods.
1 Lay down Agni Gâtavedas, the god, the priest. May the sacrifice which best encompasses the gods, proceed to-day in due order.
Install Agni Jātavedas, the god and priest.
Let the sacrifice go forth in proper sequence today as that which best encompasses the gods.
Den Wesenkenner Agni setzt, den Gott, der festlich opfert, hin; Das Opfer schreite heute vor vollauf das götterfassendste.
Setzet den Agni Jatavedas ein als göttlichen Opferpriester! Das Opfer soll heute richtig vor sich gehen, das recht viele Götter umfaßt.

चिकित्वि᳓न्मनसं तुवा
देव᳓म् म᳓र्तास ऊत᳓ये
व᳓रेण्यस्य ते अ᳓वस
इयाना᳓सो अमन्महि
हे अग्ने चिकित्विन्मनसम् । चिकित्वित् जानत् मनो यस्यासौ चिकित्विन्मनाः । तं देवं त्वा त्वाम् इयानासः उपगच्छन्तः मर्तासः मनुष्या वयम् ऊतये रक्षणार्थं वरेण्यस्य संभजनीयस्य ते तव अवसः अवसे तर्पणाय अमन्महि स्तुमः ॥
All mortals come to thee for aid, the God of most observant mind.
Of thine excelling favour we bethink us as we long for it.
We, the mortals, approaching thee, the attentive-minded god, for thy help, have thought of thy desirable aid.
We mortals have brought to mind you of attentive mind, you a god, for help, begging for the help of you, the desirable one.
Zu dir dem sorgsam achtenden, dem Gotte flehn wir Sterblichen Um Huld zu dir dem herrlichen; um Hülfe gehen wir dich an.
Indem wir Sterbliche dich, den Gott mit achtsamem Sinne, um Gunst angehen, haben wir an deine vorzügliche Gnade gedacht.

С внимательной мыслью, о помощи,
(Мы,) смертные, думали
О твоей избранной милости.
अ᳓ग्ने चिकिद्धि᳓ अस्य᳓ न
इदं᳓ व᳓चः सहसिय
तं᳓ त्वा सुशिप्र दम्पते
स्तो᳓मैर् वर्धन्ति अ᳓त्रयो
गीर्भिः᳓ शुम्भन्ति अ᳓त्रयः
हे अग्ने सहस्य सहसः बलस्य पुत्र नः अस्मदीयम् अस्य इदं परिचरणमिदं वचः स्तोत्रं च चिकिद्धि जानीहि । हे सुशिप्र । शोभने शिप्रे हनू नासिके वा यस्यासौ सुशिप्रः । तस्य संबोधनम् । सुशिप्र सुहनो दम्पते गृहपते तं त्वाम् अत्रयः अत्रिपुत्राः स्तोमैः स्तोत्रैः वर्धन्ति वर्धयन्ति । अत्रयः गीर्भिः शुम्भन्ति अलंकुर्वन्ति ॥ ॥ १४ ॥
Mark with attention this our speech, O Agni, thou victorious One.
Thee, Strong-jawed! as the homestead's Lord, the Atris with their lauds exalt, the Atris beautify with songs.
Agni, be intent on this—on this our word 1, O strong one. As such, O strong jawed 2 lord of the house, the Atris strengthen thee by their praises; the Atris beautify thee by their prayers.
O Agni, be attentive to this (speech) of ours—here is our speech, o strong one!
The Atris make you strong with their praise songs, o you of fair lips, o lord of the household; the Atris beautify you with song.
O Agni achte auf dies Lied des Sängers, o gewaltiger; Denn Hausherr dich, schönwangiger erfreut durch Lob der Atristamm (und schmückt durch Lied der Atristamm.)
Agni! Achte darauf, auf diese Rede von uns, du Gewaltiger! Dich erbauen die Atri´s mit Preisliedern, du schönzahniger Hausherr, verschönen die Atri´s mit Lobreden.
О Агни, заметь этого (человека),
(И) эту нашу речь, о могучий!
Тебя, о (бог) с прекрасными челюстями, о хозяин дома.
Люди из рода Атри укрепляют восхвалениями,
Люди из рода Атри украшают песнями.
