ऋषिवसूयव आत्रेयाः
देवताअग्निः

छन्दगायत्री
अ᳓ग्ने पावक रोचि᳓षा
मन्द्र᳓या देव जिह्व᳓या ।
आ᳓ देवा᳓न् वक्षि+++(←वच्)+++ य᳓क्षि च ॥
हे पावक शोधक रोचिषा स्वदीप्त्या मन्द्रया देवानां मादयित्र्या जिह्वया च हे देव द्योतमान अग्ने देवान् आ वक्षि यज्ञार्थम् आवह । यक्षि च । तान् यज ॥
O AGNI, Holy and Divine, with splendour and thy pleasant tongue
Bring hither and adore the Gods.
Agni, purifier! With thy splendour, with thy delightful tongue, O god, bring hither the gods and perform the sacrifice.
O Agni, the purifying, with thy light,
0 god, with thy pleasant tongue,
Bring hither the gods and sacrifice.
O purifying Agni, with your radiance and with your gladdening
tongue, o god,
convey the gods hither and sacrifice.
Entflammter Agni, fahr, o Gott, mit holder Flammenzunge her Die Götter und verehre sie.
Gott Agni, du Heller, bring mit deinem Glanze, mit deiner wohlklingenden Zunge die Götter her und opfere ihnen!
О чистый Агни, пламенем,
Веселым языком, о бог,
Привези богов и принеси жертвы!
तं᳓ त्वा घृतस्नव् ईमहे
चि᳓त्रभानो सुवर्दृ᳓शम्
देवाँ᳓ आ᳓ वीत᳓ये वह
हे घृतस्नो घृतस्य प्रेरक । यद्वा घृतेन जनित । हे चित्रभानो । चित्रा नानाविधा भानवो रश्मयो यस्यासौ चित्रभानुः । तस्य संबोधनम् । स्वर्दृशं सर्वद्रष्टारं तं त्वा त्वाम् ईमहे याचामहे । अतः वीतये हविषां भक्षणाय देवान् आ वह ॥
We pray thee, thou who droppest oil, bright-rayed! who lookest on the Sun,
Bring the Gods hither to the feast.
Thee therefore we approach, who swimmest in ghrita 1, O (god) with brilliant light, thee of sun-like aspect. Bring hither the gods that they may feast.
O you with ghee-covered back, o you of shimmering radiance, we beg you of sunlike appearance:
convey the gods hither to pursue (our oblations).
Dich, schmalzbedeckter, flehn wir an, der sonnengleich du hell erstrahlst, Zum Mahle fahr die Götter her.
Dich, den Sonnenäugigen mit Schmalz auf dem Rücken bitten wir, du prächtig Strahlender: Bring die Götter her zum Genuß der Opfer!
Мы просим тебя, о жирноспинный,
О (бог) с яркими лучами, (тебя) смотрящего (глазом-) солнцем:
Привези богов, чтобы (они) наслаждались (жертвой).
वीति᳓होत्रं तुवा कवे
द्युम᳓न्तं स᳓म् इधीमहि
अ᳓ग्ने बृह᳓न्तम् अध्वरे᳓
हे कवे क्रान्तदर्शिन् अग्ने वीतिहोत्रं कान्तयज्ञं द्युमन्तं दीप्तिमन्तं बृहन्तं महान्तं त्वा त्वाम् अध्वरे यज्ञे समिधीमहि समिद्भिः संदीपयामः ॥
We have enkindled thee, O Sage, bright caller of the Gods to feast.
O Agni, great in Sacrifice.
Let us kindle thee, O sage, the brilliant offerer of feasts (to the gods), O Agni, the mighty (god) at the sacrifice.
O poet, we would kindle you, the brilliant one whose oblations are worth pursuing,
the lofty one in the rite, o Agni.
Dich zünden wir, der ruft zum Mahl, den glänzenden, o weiser, an, Den hohen Agni bei dem Fest.
Dich, den Opfereifrigen, den Glanzvollen wollen wir entflammen, du Seher, dich den Hohen beim Opfer, o Agni.
Мы зажигаем тебя, о поэт,
Наслаждающегося жертвой, сверкающего,
Высокого, о Агни, во время обряда.
अ᳓ग्ने वि᳓श्वेभिर् आ᳓ गहि
देवे᳓भिर् हव्य᳓दातये
हो᳓तारं त्वा वृणीमहे
हे अग्ने विश्वेभिः सर्वैः देवेभिः देवैः सह त्वं हव्यदातये हविषां दात्रे यजमानाय तदर्थम् आ गहि यज्ञं प्रत्यागच्छ । यतः होतारं देवानामाह्वातारं त्वा त्वां वृणीमहे प्रार्थयामहे ॥
O Agni, come with all the Gods, come to our sacrificial gift:
We choose thee as Invoking Priest.
Agni, come hither with all the gods to the gift of the offering. We choose thee as our Hotri.
O Agni, come with all the gods for the giving of oblations.
We choose you as our Hotar.
Mit allen Göttern komme du, o Agni her zum Opfermahl; Dich wählen wir zum Priester uns.
Agni, Komm mit allen Göttern zur Opferverteilung; wir erwählen dich zum Hotri.
О Агни, приди со всеми
Богами для раздачи жертв!
Мы выбираем тебя хотаром.
य᳓जमानाय सुन्वत᳓
आ᳓ग्ने सुवी᳓रियं वह
देवइ᳓र् आ᳓ सत्सि बर्हि᳓षि
हे अग्ने सुन्वते अभिषवं कुर्वते यजमानाय सुवीर्यं शोभनं बलम् आ वह प्रापय । किंच देवैः सह बर्हिषि यज्ञे आ सत्सि आसीदेति ॥ ॥ १९ ॥
Bring, Agni, to the worshipper who pours the juice, heroic strength:
Sit with the Gods upon the grass.
Bring to the sacrificer who presses (Soma), Agni, abundance of heroes. Sit down on the sacrificial grass together with the gods.
Convey an abundance of heroes to the sacrificer pressing soma, o Agni! Sit here on our ritual grass along with the gods!
O Agni bring dem opfernden, dem Somapresser Heldenkraft, Mit Göttern setz dich auf die Streu.
Dem Opfernden, dem Somabereitenden bring, o Agni, die Meisterschaft! Setz dich mit den Göttern auf das Barhis!
Для жертвователя, для выжимающего (сому),
О Агни, привези обилие прекрасных мужей!
Садись на жертвенную солому вместе с богами!
समिधानः᳓ सहस्रजिद्
अ᳓ग्ने ध᳓र्माणि पुष्यसि
देवा᳓नां दूत᳓ उक्थि᳓यः
हे सहस्रजित् सहस्रस्य जेतः अग्ने समिधानः हविर्भिः समिध्यमानः उक्थ्यः प्रशस्यस्त्वं देवानां दूतः सन् धर्माणि नः कर्माणि यज्ञादिक्रियाः पुष्यसि पोषयसि ॥
Victor of thousands, Agni, thou, enkindled, cherishest the laws,
Laud-worthy, envoy of the Gods.
Being kindled, Agni, conqueror of thousandfold (wealth), thou makest the ordinances (of the world) thrive, the praiseworthy messenger of the gods.
Being kindled, o thousand-conquering Agni, you prosper the (ritual) foundations
as the praiseworthy messenger of the gods.
Entflammt, o vielerbeutender, verschönst die Bräuche, Agni, du, Der Götter Bote, preisenswerth.
Wenn du Tausendgewinner Agni entzündet wirst, so förderst du die heiligen Bräuche als preiswürdiger Bote der Götter.
Зажженный, добывающий тысячи,
О Агни, ты приносишь процветание (божественным) установлениям
Как вестник богов, достойный гимнов.
नि᳓ अग्निं᳓ जात᳓वेदसं
होत्रवा᳓हं य᳓विष्ठियम्
द᳓धाता देव᳓म् ऋत्वि᳓जम्
हे यजमानाः जातवेदसम् । जातानि भूतानि वेत्तीति जातवेदाः । तं होत्रवाहं होत्रस्य यज्ञस्य वोढारं यविष्ठ्यं युवतमं देवं द्योतमानम् ऋत्विजम् ऋतौ यष्टारम् अग्निं नि धात निधत्त ॥
Set Agni Jatavedas down, the bearer of our sacred gifts,
MostYouthful, God and Minister.
1 Lay down Agni Gâtavedas, the carrier of offerings, the youngest, the god, the priest.
Install Agni Jātavedas, who conveys the oblations, the youngest (Agni), as god and priest.
Den Wesenkenner Agni setzt, den jüngsten Opferfahrer hin, Den Gott, der richtig Opfer bringt.
Setzet den Agni Jatavedas ein, den Opferfahrer, den Jüngsten, den göttlichen Opferpriester!
Устройте Агни-Джатаведаса,
Увозящего жертвы, самого юного,
Божественного жреца!
प्र᳓ यज्ञ᳓ एतु आनुष᳓ग्
अद्या᳓ देव᳓व्यचस्तमः
स्तृणीत᳓ बर्हि᳓र् आस᳓दे
अद्य अस्मिन्नहनि देवव्यचस्तमः देवै: प्रकाशमानैः स्तोतृभिः व्याप्ततमः यज्ञः यज्ञसाधनं हविः आनुषक् अनुषक्तं यथा भवति तथा प्र एतु देवान् गच्छतु । हे ऋत्विजः आसदे अग्नेरासदनार्थ बर्हिः स्तृणीत ॥
Duly proceed our sacrifice, comprising all the Gods, to-day:
Strew holy grass to be their seat.
May the sacrifice which best encompasses the gods, proceed to-day in due order. Spread the sacrificial grass that (the gods) may sit down on it.
Let the sacrifice go forth in proper sequence today as that which best encompasses the gods.
Strew the sacred grass (for the gods) to sit.
Das Opfer schreite heute vor vollauf das götterfassendste Zum sitzen streut das Polster hin.
Das Opfer soll heute richtig vor sich gehen, das recht viele Götter umfaßt. Leget das Barhis zum Sitzen aus!
Пусть жертвоприношение идет сегодня
По порядку, охватывая как можно больше богов!
Расстелите жертвенную солому для сидения!
ए᳓द᳓म् मरु᳓तो अश्वि᳓ना
मित्रः᳓ सीदन्तु व᳓रुणः
देवा᳓सः स᳓र्वया विशा᳓
मरुतः मरुद्गणाः अश्विना अश्विनौ देवानां भिषजौ मित्रः सूर्यः वरुणः च देवासः एते सर्वे देवाः सर्वया विशा समस्तेन स्वीयेन परिजनेन सार्धम् इदं बर्हिः आ सीदन्तु ॥॥२०॥
So may the Maruts sit thereon, the Asvins, Mitra, Varuna:
The Gods with all their company.
May the Maruts, the Asvins, Mitra and Varuna sit down on this (sacrificial grass). the gods with all their folk.
Let the Maruts, the Aśvins, and Mitra and Varuṇa sit here upon this, let the gods with their whole clan.
Dort setze sich die Marutschar, die Ritter, Mitra, Varuna, Der ganze Stamm der Götter hin.
Auf dieses sollen sich die Marut, die Asvin, Mitra, Varuna setzen, die Götter mit vollzähliger Gemeinde.
Да усядутся здесь Маруты,
Ашвины, Митра, Варуна –
Боги всем (своим) племенем!
