देवतामित्रावरुणौ

छन्दगायत्री
प्र वो॑ मि॒त्राय॑ गायत॒ वरु॑णाय वि॒पा गि॒रा । महि॑क्षत्रावृ॒तं बृ॒हत् ॥
प्र । वः॒ । मि॒त्राय॑ । गा॒य॒त॒ । वरु॑णाय । वि॒पा । गि॒रा । महि॑ऽक्षत्रौ । ऋ॒तम् । बृ॒हत् ॥
हे मदीया ऋत्विजः वः । यूयमित्यर्थः । मित्राय वरुणाय च विपा व्याप्तया गिरा स्तुत्या प्र गायत स्तुतिं कुरुत । स्तुत्या स्तुवतेत्येतत् पाकं पचतीतिवत् । हे महिक्षत्रौ प्रभूतबलौ युवाम् ऋतं यज्ञं बृहत् महत् अतिप्रशस्तम् । स्तुत्यर्थमागच्छतमिति शेषः । अथवा महत प्रभूतम् ऋतं स्तोत्रं शृणुतमिति शेषः ॥
“Sing loud with lusty praise to Mitra and Varuṇa; (come), mighty deities, to the great sacrifice.”
SING forth unto your Varuna and Mitra with a song inspired.
They, Mighty Lords, are lofty Law
Sing forth to Mitra and to Varuṇa with your inspiration and song. O you two of great dominion, lofty is our truth.
Auf, euren Mitra, Varuna besingt mit geisterregtem Lied, Das hohe Recht, grossmächtige.
Stimmt den Gesang für Mitra und Varuna an mit eurem beredten Lobe! Ihr beiden Träger der großen Herrschaft höret die Wahrheit!

О два великих властелина, (услышьте) о высоком законе!
स॒म्राजा॒ या घृ॒तयो॑नी मि॒त्रश्चो॒भा वरु॑णश्च । दे॒वा दे॒वेषु॑ प्रश॒स्ता ॥
स॒म्ऽराजा॑ । या । घृ॒तयो॑नी॒ इति॑ घृ॒तऽयो॑नी । मि॒त्रः । च॒ । उ॒भा । वरु॑णः । च॒ । दे॒वा । दे॒वेषु॑ । प्र॒ऽश॒स्ता ॥
या यौ मित्रश्च वरुणश्च । परस्परापेक्षया चशब्दः । उभा उभौ सम्राजा सर्वस्य स्वामिनौ घृतयोनी उदकस्योत्पादकौ देवा द्योतमानौ देवेषु मध्ये प्रशस्ता प्रकर्षेण स्तुत्यौ । तौ गायतेति पूर्वत्रान्वयः ॥
“Mitra and Varuṇa, who are both sovereign rulers, originators of the rain, eminent deities among the gods.”
Full springs of fatness, Sovran Kings, Mitra. and Varuna, the Twain,
Gods glorified among the Gods.
Sovereign kings, whose womb is covered with ghee, both Mitra
and Varuṇa
are gods proclaimed among the gods.
Allherrscher sie mit Fett im Schooss, sind beide Mitra, Varuna Bei Göttern Götter hochberühmt.
Die Allherscher, die in Schmalz gebettet sind, Mitra und Varuna, beide Götter stehen bei den Göttern in Ehren.
Два самодержца, чья обитель – жир,
Митра и Варуна, оба
Бога прославлены среди богов.
ता न॑: शक्तं॒ पार्थि॑वस्य म॒हो रा॒यो दि॒व्यस्य॑ । महि॑ वां क्ष॒त्रं दे॒वेषु॑ ॥
ता । नः॒ । शक्त॑म् । पार्थि॑वस्य । म॒हः । रा॒यः । दि॒व्यस्य॑ । महि॑ । वा॒म् । क्ष॒त्रम् । दे॒वेषु॑ ॥
ता तौ देवौ नः अस्मदर्थं पार्थिवस्य पृथिवीसंबद्धस्य दिव्यस्य दिवि भवस्य च महः। महतः रायः धनस्य शक्तं समर्थौ भवतम् । दातुमिति शेषः । हे देवौ वां युवयोः महि महत् पूज्यं क्षत्रं बलं देवेषु प्रसिद्धं स्तुम इति शेषः ॥
“They two are able (to grant us) of great terrestrial and celestial riches; great is your might among the gods.”
So help ye us to riches, great terrestrial and celestial wealth:
Vast is your sway among the Gods.
Show us your mastery over great wealth, earthly and heavenly.
Great is your dominion among the gods.
So schenket grossen Reichthum denn uns irdischen und himmlischen; Bei Göttern gross ist eure Macht.
Erwirket uns beide großen irdischen und himmlischen Reichtum! Groß ist eure Macht unter den Göttern.
Помогите вы нам с великим
Богатством, земным (и) небесным!
Велика ваша власть среди богов.
ऋ॒तमृ॒तेन॒ सप॑न्तेषि॒रं दक्ष॑माशाते । अ॒द्रुहा॑ दे॒वौ व॑र्धेते ॥
ऋ॒तम् । ऋ॒तेन॑ । सप॑न्ता । इ॒षि॒रम् । दक्ष॑म् । आ॒शा॒ते॒ इति॑ । अ॒द्रुहा॑ । दे॒वौ । व॒र्धे॒ते॒ इति॑ ॥
ऋतेन उदकेन निमित्तेन ऋतं यज्ञं सपन्ता स्पृशन्तौ इषिरम् एषणवन्तं दक्षं प्रवृद्धं यजमानं हविर्वा आशाते व्याप्नुतः । अद्रुहा अद्रोग्धारौ देवौ मित्रावरुणौ युवां वर्धेते प्रवृद्धौ भवतः ॥
“Rewarding with rain the holy rite, they favour the zealous worshipper; benevolent deities, may you prosper.”
Carefully tending Law with Law they have attained their vigorous might.
The two Gods wax devoid of guile.
Serving the truth by the truth, they two have attained vigorous skill. Undeceiving, the two gods grow strong.
Betreibend Recht durch rechtes Werk erlangend frische Geisteskraft Gedeiht das fromme Götterpaar.
Indem beide das Gesetz nach dem Gesetz hegen, haben sie eifrige Tatkraft erlangt. Ohne Trug gedeihen die zwei Götter.

Вы достигли стремительной силы действия.
Усиливаются два бога, лишенные обмана.
वृ॒ष्टिद्या॑वा री॒त्या॑पे॒षस्पती॒ दानु॑मत्याः । बृ॒हन्तं॒ गर्त॑माशाते ॥
वृ॒ष्टिऽद्या॑वा । री॒तिऽआ॑पा । इ॒षः । पती॒ इति॑ । दानु॑ऽमत्याः । बृ॒हन्त॑म् । गर्त॑म् । आ॒शा॒ते॒ इति॑ ॥
वृष्टिद्यावा । वृष्ट्यर्था द्यौः स्तुतिर्ययोस्तौ वृष्टिद्यावा । अथवा वृष्टिर्वर्षिका द्यौरन्तरिक्षं याभ्यां तौ तादृशौ । 'रीत्यापा ॥ री गतिरेषणयोः ॥ रीतिः प्राप्तिः । सैव आपा आप्तिः अभिमतप्राप्तिर्ययोस्तौ तादृशौ । इषः अन्नस्य पती स्वामिनौ । वृष्टिप्रदत्वात् स्वामित्वम् । दानुमत्याः दानवत्याः । दातुमुचितायाः इत्यर्थः । एतदिड्विशेषणम् । एवं महानुभावौ बृहन्तं महान्तं गर्तं रथम् आशाते व्याप्नुतः । अधितिष्ठतो यागार्थम् ॥ ॥ ६ ॥
“Senders of rain from heaven, granters of desires, lords of sustenance, suited to the liberal donors (of oblations), they ascend their spacious car.”
With rainy skies and streaming floods, Lords of the strength that bringeth gifts,
A lofty seat have they attained.
Bringing the heavens to rain and the waters to streaming, the two lords of refreshments, bringing gifts,
have attained their lofty throne.
Die Herrn des thaubegabten Trunks, mit Regenhimmel, Wasserstrom Gelangten zu dem hohen Thron.
Den Himmel lassen sie regnen, die Wasser fließen, die Herren der Labe, die die Himmelsgabe bringt; sie haben ihren großen Hochsitz eingenommen.
Вызывающие дождь на небе, течение вод,
Два повелителя услады, приносящей дары,
Они достигли высокого трона.
