छन्दअनुष्टुप्
बळि॒त्था पर्व॑तानां खि॒द्रं बि॑भर्षि पृथिवि । प्र या भूमिं॑ प्रवत्वति म॒ह्ना जि॒नोषि॑ महिनि ॥
बट् । इ॒त्था । पर्व॑तानाम् । खि॒द्रम् । बि॒भ॒र्षि॒ । पृ॒थि॒वि॒ । प्र । या । भूमि॑म् । प्र॒व॒त्व॒ति॒ । म॒ह्ना । जि॒नोषि॑ । म॒हि॒नि॒ ॥
द्विरूपा पृथिवी चैषा प्रत्यक्षा देवतापि च । मध्यस्थाना देवतोक्ता सात्र संबोध्य वर्ण्यते ॥ हे पृथिवि प्रथनवति मध्यस्थानदेवते । त्वम् इत्था इत्थम् अमुत्र अन्तरिक्षे वा बट् सत्यं पर्वतानां मेघानां वा खिद्रं खेदनं भेदनं बिभर्षि धारयसि । हे महिनि महति हे प्रवत्वति प्रकर्षवति प्रवणोदकवति वा या त्वं भूमिं प्रत्यक्षां पृथिवीं मह्ना महत्त्वेन महतोदकेन वा प्र जिनोषि प्रकर्षेण प्रीणयसि ॥
“Verily you sustain here, Pṛthivi, the fracture of the mountains; mighty and most excellent, you are she who delight the earth by your greatness.”
THOU, of a truth,O Prthivi, bearest the tool that rends the hills:
Thou rich in torrents, who with might quickenest earth, O Mighty One.
Thou bearest truly, Pṛthivī, The burden of the mountains' weight; With might, O thou of many streams, Thou quickenest, potent one, the soil.
Yes indeed! (It is) just so: you bear the pressure of the mountains, o Earth,
as you bring the ground to life with your greatness, o gently sloping great one.
Ja du, o Erde, trägst fürwahr der hohen Berge schwere Wucht; Die holde du, an Höhen reich, das Land erquickst mit deiner Huld.
Wahrlich, so ist´s: Du trägst den Druck der Berge, o Erde, die du den Boden erquickest, du Flußreiche, durch deine Macht, du Mächtige.
В самом деле так: ты несешь
Тяжесть гор, о Земля,
(Ты,) что оживляешь почву,
(Своим) могуществом, о отлогая, о могучая.
स्तोमा॑सस्त्वा विचारिणि॒ प्रति॑ ष्टोभन्त्य॒क्तुभि॑: । प्र या वाजं॒ न हेष॑न्तं पे॒रुमस्य॑स्यर्जुनि ॥
स्तोमा॑सः । त्वा॒ । वि॒ऽचा॒रि॒णि॒ । प्रति॑ । स्तो॒भ॒न्ति॒ । अ॒क्तुऽभिः॑ । प्र । या । वाज॑म् । न । हेष॑न्तम् । पे॒रुम् । अस्य॑सि । अ॒र्जु॒नि॒ ॥
हे विचारिणि विविधं चरणशीले पृथिवि देवि त्वा त्वां स्तोमासः स्तोतारः अक्तुभिः गमनशीलैः स्तोत्रैः प्रति ष्टोभन्ति अभिष्टुवन्ति। किंच या त्वं हेषन्तं शब्दयन्तं वाजं न अश्वमिव उद्वृत्तं पेरुं पूरकं मेघं प्र अस्यसि प्रक्षिपसि हे अर्जुनि शुभ्रवर्णे गमनशीले वा ॥
“Wanderer in various ways your worshippers hymn you with (sacred) songs; you who, bright-hued, tosses the swollen (cloud) like a neighing horse.”
To thee, O wanderer at will, ring out the lauds with beams of day,
Who drivest, like a neighing steed, the swelling cloud, O bright of hue.
With flowers of speech our songs of praise Resound to thee, far-spreading one, Who sendest forth the swelling cloud, O bright one, like propelling speed;
Praises sound in response to you, oscillating lady, through the nights, as you fling the swelling moisture forward like a (horse) neighing for a prize, silvery one—
Dich preisen, o durchwanderte, Loblieder in der Tage Glanz, Die, schimmernde, den Regen du entsendest wie ein wiehernd, Ross.
Von dir hallen allnächtlich die Lobgesänge wider, du Wandelbare, die du den Erguß des Himmels fortschleuderst wie der Hengst die treibende Brunst, du Silberglänzende.
Восхваления, о подвижная,
Вторят тебе сквозь ночи,
(Тебе,) которая отбрасывает излияние (неба),
Словно (кобылица) ржущего коня, о светлая.
दृ॒ळ्हा चि॒द्या वन॒स्पती॑न्क्ष्म॒या दर्ध॒र्ष्योज॑सा । यत्ते॑ अ॒भ्रस्य॑ वि॒द्युतो॑ दि॒वो वर्ष॑न्ति वृ॒ष्टय॑: ॥
दृ॒ळ्हा । चि॒त् । या । वन॒स्पती॑न् । क्ष्म॒या । दर्ध॑र्षि । ओज॑सा । यत् । ते॒ । अ॒भ्रस्य॑ । वि॒ऽद्युतः॑ । दि॒वः । वर्ष॑न्ति । वृ॒ष्टयः॑ ॥
हे पृथिवि या त्वं दृळ्हा चित् ॥ ‘ सुपा सुलुक्' इति तृतीयाया आकारः ॥ दृढया क्ष्मया भूम्या सह वनस्पतीन् वृक्षान् ओजसा बलेन दधर्षि धारयसि । अथवा दृढेति विधेयविशेषणम् । वनस्पतीन् दृढान् कृत्वा धारयसि इत्यर्थः । यत् यस्याः ते तव संबन्धिनः वृष्टयः वर्षका मेघाः विद्युतः विद्योतमानात् अभ्रस्य ॥ पञ्चम्यर्थे षष्ठी । अभ्रात् अपां हर्तुः दिवः अन्तरिक्षात् आदित्याद्वा वर्षन्ति । अथवा यत् यस्यास्ते तवाभ्रस्य मेघस्य वृष्टय उदकसंघाता विद्युतो विद्योतमानाया दिवः सकाशात् वर्षन्ति पतन्ति ॥ ॥ २९ ॥
“You who, with solid earth, sustain by your strength the forest lords, when the showers of your cloud fall from the shining sky.”
Who graspest with thy might on earth. e'en the strong sovrans of the wood,
When from the lightning of thy cloud the rain-floods of the heaven descend.
Who, steadfast, holdest with thy might, The forest-trees upon the ground, When, from the lightning of thy cloud, The rain-floods of the sky pour down.
You who, steadfast yourself, keep fast the trees all across the earth by your strength,
when the lightning bolts of the dark cloud and the rains from heaven rain for you.
Die, starke, du die Bäume auch mit Kraft in deinem Schoosse hältst, Wenn deiner Wolke hellem Blitz des Himmels Regenguss entströmt.
Die du selbst fest die Bäume mit Stärke im Boden festhältst, wenn deiner Wolken Blitze blitzen, und die Regengüsse des Himmels regnen.
Сама крепкая, ты (та,) что силой
Удерживает на земле большие деревья,
Когда для тебя (сверкают) молнии из тучи,
(И) потоки дождя изливаются с неба.
