म॒हाँ इन्द्रो॑ नृ॒वदा च॑र्षणि॒प्रा उ॒त द्वि॒बर्हा॑ अमि॒नः सहो॑भिः । अ॒स्म॒द्र्य॑ग्वावृधे वी॒र्या॑यो॒रुः पृ॒थुः सुकृ॑तः क॒र्तृभि॑र्भूत् ॥
म॒हान् । इन्द्रः॑ । नृ॒ऽवत् । आ । च॒र्ष॒णि॒ऽप्राः । उ॒त । द्वि॒ऽबर्हाः॑ । अ॒मि॒नः । सहः॑ऽभिः । अ॒स्म॒द्र्य॑क् । व॒वृ॒धे॒ । वी॒र्या॑य । उ॒रुः । पृ॒थुः । सुऽकृ॑तः । क॒र्तृऽभिः॑ । भू॒त् ॥
नृवत् यथा नेता राजा भृत्यादीनां कामानां पूरयिता तद्वत् चर्षणिप्राः चर्षणीनां स्तोतृजनानां कामानां पूरकः महान् प्रभूतः इन्द्रः आ गच्छतु । आ इत्युपसर्गदर्शनात् गच्छत्वित्याख्यातस्याध्याहारः । उत अपि च द्विबर्हाः द्वयोर्लोकयोः परिवृढः सहोभिः शत्रुबलैः अमिनः अहिंसनीयः इन्द्रः अस्मद्र्यक् अस्मदभिमुखं यथा भवति तथा वीर्याय वीरकर्मकरणाय ववृधे वर्धते । उरुः शरीरेण विस्तीर्णः पृथुः गुणैः प्रथितः कर्तृभिः यजमानैः सुकृतः भूत् सुष्ठु परिचरितो भवति ॥
“May the great Indra, who is as a monarch the fulfiller (of the desires) of men, come hither; may he who is mighty over the two (realms of space), uninjurable by (hostile) offers, increase (in capacity) for heroism in our presence; may he who is great (in body), eminent (in qualities), be honoured by the performers (of pious acts).”
GREAT, hero-like controlling men is Indra, unwasting in his powers, doubled in vastness.
He, turned to us, hath grown to hero vigour: broad, wide, he hath been decked by those who serve him.
Great is Indra, manfully controlling men,
Unfailing in strength, of double force;
Towards us for strength doth he wax;
Broad and wide hath he been adorned by the offerers.
Great is Indra—manful, filling the domains and doubly lofty,
undiminishing in his powers.
Inclined toward us, he has been strengthened for his heroic deed.
Wide and broad, he was well made by his makers.
Gross ist und mannhaft, Völker segnend, Indra und doppelt stark, gewaltig er an Kräften, Uns zugewandt erwuchs zu Heldenmacht er weit, breit und schön gebildet von den Bildnern.
Groß ist Indra, ganz wie ein Mann, die Völker erfüllend und doppelt stark, ungemindert an Kräften. Für uns ist er zur Heldentat herangewachsen, umfangreich, breit ward er, wohlerzeugt durch seine Erzeuger.
Велик Индра, подобно (знатному) мужу наполняет он народы,
А также крепок вдвойне, (и никаким) силам не извести его.
Ради нас он возрос для подвига, огромный,
Широким стал он, сотворенный искусными творцами.
इन्द्र॑मे॒व धि॒षणा॑ सा॒तये॑ धाद्बृ॒हन्त॑मृ॒ष्वम॒जरं॒ युवा॑नम् । अषा॑ळ्हेन॒ शव॑सा शूशु॒वांसं॑ स॒द्यश्चि॒द्यो वा॑वृ॒धे असा॑मि ॥
इन्द्र॑म् । ए॒व । धि॒षणा॑ । सा॒तये॑ । धा॒त् । बृ॒हन्त॑म् । ऋ॒ष्वम् । अ॒जर॑म् । युवा॑नम् । अषा॑ळ्हेन । शव॑सा । शू॒सु॒ऽवांस॑म् । स॒द्यः । चि॒त् । यः । व॒वृ॒धे । असा॑मि ॥
धिषणा अस्मदीया स्तुतिः सातये दानाय इन्द्रमेव धात् धारयति । कीदृशम् । बृहन्तं महान्तम् ऋष्वं गन्तारम् अजरं जरारहितं युवानं नित्यतरुणम् अषाळ्हेन शत्रुभिरनभिभूतेन शवसा बलेन शूशुवांसं प्रवृद्धम् । श्वयतेरिदं रूपम् । यः इन्द्रः सद्यश्चित् सद्य एव जातमात्रः सन् असामि अनल्पमधिकं यथा भवति तथा ववृधे वर्धते ॥
“Our praise encourages Indra o munificence, the vast, quick-moving, undecaying, ever-youthful Indra, mighty with unsurpassable strength, who rapidly grows to greatness.”
The bowl made Indra swift to gather booty, the High, the Lofty, Youthful, Undecaying,
Him who hath waxed by strength which none may conquer, and even at once grown to complete perfection.
The Holy Place positioned just Indra for winning, him lofty and towering, unaging and youthful,
swollen with invincible strength, who in just a single day grew strong and not by halves.
Den Indra trieb die Schale an zum Geben, den hohen grossen Jüngling, der nicht altert, Der mächtig ist, von unbesiegter Stärke, in einem Tag erwuchs zu voller Grösse.
Gerade den Indra bestimmte die Dhisana zum Gewinnen, den großen, hohen, alterlosen, jugendlichen, den an unbesiegbarer Kraft überstarken, der sofort vollständig ausgewachsen ist.
Это Индру Дхишана предназначила для захвата,
Могучего, высокого, нестареющего, юного,
Переполненного непокоренной силой,
(Того,) кто сразу же возрастает безмерно.

पृ॒थू इति॑ । क॒रस्ना॑ । ब॒हु॒ला । गभ॑स्ती॒ इति॑ । अ॒स्म॒द्र्य॑क् । सम् । मि॒मी॒हि॒ । श्रवां॑सि । यू॒थाऽइ॑व । प॒श्वः । प॒शु॒ऽपाः । दमू॑नाः । अ॒स्मान् । इ॒न्द्र॒ । अ॒भि । आ । व॒वृ॒त्स्व॒ । आ॒जौ ॥
हे इन्द्र त्वं पृथू विस्तीर्णो करस्ना कर्मणां कर्तारौ बहुला बहुप्रदौ गभस्ती त्वदीयौ बाहू श्रवांसि अन्नानि । दातुमिति शेषः। अस्मद्र्यक् अस्मदभिमुखं सं मिमीहि कुरु । किंच हे इन्द्र दमूनाः दान्तमनास्त्वम् आजौ संग्रामे अस्मान् अभि आ ववृत्स्व अभ्यावर्तस्व । तत्र दृष्टान्तः । पशुपाः पशूनां पालकः पश्वः पशूनां यूथेव यूथानि यथा आवर्तयति तद्वत् ॥
“Extend towards us your long, active, and bountiful hands, (to bring us) food; be abot us, lowly-minded Indra, in battle, as a herdsman (tends) the herds of cattle.”
Stretch out those hands of thine, extend to us-ward thy wide capacious arms, and grant us glory.
Like as the household herdsman guards the cattle, so move thou round about us in the combat.
Broad are your forearms, ample your fists. Mete out full measures of fame in our direction.
Like a herdsman to his flocks of livestock, as household master, o
Indra, turn here to us in the contest.
Gebreitet sind die Arme, weit die Hände zu uns gewandt, verleih uns schöne Güter; Wie zu den Heerden sich des Hauses Viehhirt, so wende, Indra, dich zu uns im Kampfe.
Breit sind deine Arme, umfangreich die Hände. Uns teile die Ehren zu! Wie der Hirt zu seiner Viehherde, so wende dich uns zu als Gebieter in der Schlacht, o Indra!

तं व॒ इन्द्रं॑ च॒तिन॑मस्य शा॒कैरि॒ह नू॒नं वा॑ज॒यन्तो॑ हुवेम । यथा॑ चि॒त्पूर्वे॑ जरि॒तार॑ आ॒सुरने॑द्या अनव॒द्या अरि॑ष्टाः ॥
तम् । वः॒ । इन्द्र॑म् । च॒तिन॑म् । अ॒स्य॒ । शा॒कैः । इ॒ह । नू॒नम् । वा॒ज॒ऽयन्तः॑ । हु॒वे॒म॒ । यथा॑ । चि॒त् । पूर्वे॑ । ज॒रि॒तारः॑ । आ॒सुः । अने॑द्याः । अ॒न॒व॒द्याः । अरि॑ष्टाः ॥
नूनम् अद्य इह अस्मिन् यज्ञे वाजयन्तः अन्नमिच्छन्तो वयं स्तोतारः शाकैः शक्तैः समर्थैः अस्य तव सहायैर्मरुद्भिः सहितं चतिनं शत्रूणां चातकम् । नाशकमित्यर्थः । इन्द्रं परमेश्वरं तं वः प्रसिद्धं त्वां हुवेम स्तुमः । यथा चित् यथैव पूर्वे पुरातनाः जरितारः स्तोतारः अनेद्याः अनिन्द्याः अनवद्याः पापरहिताः अरिष्टाः अहिंसिताश्च आसुः बभूवुः हे इन्द्र त्वत्प्रसादात् वयमपि तथैव भवेमेत्यर्थः ॥
“Desiring sustenance, we invoke you, the renowned Indra, on this occasion, the destroyer (of enemies), together with his powerful allies (the Maruts); as his ancient adorers have been, (may we be), exempt from blame, irreproachable, unharmed.”
Now, fain for strength, let us invite your Indra hither, who lieth hidden with his Heroes,-
Free from all blame, without reproach, uninjured, e'en as were those who sang, of old, his praises.
Striving for the prizes of victory here and now, we would summon him for you, the elusive Indra along with his able (men);
(might we be) irreproachable, blameless, and invulnerable, just as the ancient singers were.
Der sich verbarg mit seinen Helden, Indra, ihn rufen wir euch her nun Gut begehrend, Wie auch die frühern Sänger ohne Tadel und ohne Anstoss waren, ungefährdet.
Diesen euren Indra, der mit seinen Gehilfen auszieht, wollen wir jetzt hierher rufen, auf Gewinn ausgehend, so wie die früheren Sänger gewesen sind, ohne Tadel, ohne Makel, unverletzlich.

धृ॒तव्र॑तो धन॒दाः सोम॑वृद्ध॒: स हि वा॒मस्य॒ वसु॑नः पुरु॒क्षुः । सं ज॑ग्मिरे प॒थ्या॒३॒॑ रायो॑ अस्मिन्त्समु॒द्रे न सिन्ध॑वो॒ याद॑मानाः ॥
धृ॒तऽव्र॑तः । ध॒न॒ऽदाः । सोम॑ऽवृद्धः । सः । हि । वा॒मस्य॑ । वसु॑नः । पु॒रु॒ऽक्षुः । सम् । जि॒ग्मि॒रे॒ । प॒थ्याः॑ । रायः॑ । अ॒स्मि॒न् । स॒मु॒द्रे । न । सिन्ध॑वः । याद॑मानाः ॥
स हि स खलु इन्द्रः धृतव्रतः धृतकर्मा । धनदाः स एव धनप्रदः । कीदृशस्य धनस्येत्याकाङ्क्षायामुपसर्जनीभूतस्यापि धनस्य विशेषणे वामस्य वसुन इति । वामस्य वननीयस्य वसुनः श्रेष्ठस्य । यद्वा वसुनो धनस्य स्वामीति शेषः। सोमवृद्धः स एव सोमेन प्रवृद्धः । पुरुक्षुः बह्वन्नः स एव । अस्मिन् इन्द्रे एव पथ्याः स्तोतॄणां हितानि रायः धनानि सं जग्मिरे संगच्छन्ते । तत्र दृष्टान्तः । सिन्धवः नद्यः समुद्रे न यथा समुद्रे यादमानाः अभिगच्छन्त्यस्तद्वत् ॥ ॥ ७ ॥
“In him who is observant of pious rites, who is a giver of wealth, who is exalted by the Soma, the (lord) of desirable riches, the distributor of food, (in him) the treasures fit (for his worshippers) congregate like rivers flowing into ocean.”
With steadfast laws, wealth-giver, strong through Soma, he hath much fair and precious food to feed us.
In him unite all paths that lead to riches, like rivers that commingle with the ocean.
Of steadfast commandment, giving spoils, strengthened by soma (is he), for he is the possessor of much livestock, of goods worth winning.
The paths of wealth have joined in him, like the rivers uniting in the sea.
Gestärkt durch Soma, ist er Rechtsbeschirmer und Gutverleiher, schönen Schatzes Spender; Zu ihm hin gehen alle Reichthumspfade, wie zu dem Meere hin die Ströme eilen.
Seine Gebote aufrecht haltend, Schätze spendend, somagestärkt - denn der Viehbesitzer ist Spender schönen Gutes - in ihm laufen die Wege des Reichtums zusammen wie die Flüsse, die sich mit dem Ozean vereinigen.
Твердый в обете, даритель сокровищ, подкрепленный сомой –
Ведь этот (бог,) богатый скотом – (наделитель) ценным имуществом –
Пути богатства сошлись на нем,
Словно реки, соединяющиеся в океане.

शवि॑ष्ठम् । नः॒ । आ । भ॒र॒ । शू॒र॒ । शवः॑ । ओजि॑ष्ठम् । ओजः॑ । अ॒भि॒ऽभू॒ते॒ । उ॒ग्रम् । विश्वा॑ । द्यु॒म्ना । वृष्ण्या॑ । मानु॑षाणाम् । अ॒स्म्भ्य॑म् । दाः॒ । ह॒रि॒ऽवः॒ । मा॒द॒यध्यै॑ ॥
हे शूर विक्रान्तेन्द्र शविष्ठं बलवत्तमं शवः बलं नः अस्मभ्यम् आ भर आहर । हे अभिभूते शत्रूणामभिभावुकेन्द्र उग्रम् अप्रसह्यम् ओजिष्ठम् ओजस्वितमम् ओजः दीप्तिमस्मभ्यमा भर । विश्वा विश्वानि सर्वाणि वृष्ण्या वृष्ण्यानि सेचनसमर्थानि द्युम्ना द्युम्नानि द्योतमानानि यानि धनानि मानुषाणां मनुष्याणां भोग्यतया कल्पितानि हे हरिवः हरिवन्निन्द्र तानि धनानि मादयध्यै अस्मान् मादयितुम् अस्मभ्यं दाः प्रयच्छ ॥
“Bestow upon us, hero Indra, most vigorous vigour; subduer (of enemies, bestow upon us) most energetic and fierce energy; grant, lord of steeds, all the bright and invigorating (treasures) fit for men, to make us happy.”
Bring unto us the mightiest might, O Hero, strong and most potent force, thou great Subduer!
All splendid vigorous powers of men vouchsafe us, Lord of Bay Steeds, that they may make us joyful.
Bring here to us, o overpowering champion, the strongest strength, the mightiest mighty might.
All things brilliant and bullish that belong to the sons of Manu—give them to us, o master of the fallow bays, to exhilarate us.
Die stärkste Stärke bring uns her, o Starker, die mächtigste, gewalt'ge Macht, o Sieger, Die Güter alle und der Menschen Kräfte gib, zu erfreun uns, o du Rosselenker.
Bring uns, du Starker, die stärkste Stärke, die gewaltigste gewaltige Gewalt, du Überlegener. Alle Herrlichkeiten und Kräfte der Menschen gib uns, o Falbenlenker, um Freude zu machen!
Храбрейшую храбрость принеси нам, о храбрец,
Сильнейшую силу, о победоносный, грозную.
Весь блеск (и) мужество людей
Нам отдай, о повелитель буланых коней, чтобы мы радовались!

यः । ते॒ । मदः॑ । पृ॒त॒ना॒षाट् । अमृ॑ध्रः । इन्द्र॑ । तम् । नः॒ । आ । भ॒र॒ । शू॒शु॒ऽवांस॑म् । येन॑ । तो॒कस्य॑ । तन॑यस्य । सा॒तौ । मं॒सी॒महि॑ । जि॒गी॒वांसः॑ । त्वाऽऊ॑ताः ॥
पृतनाषाट् शत्रुसेनानामभिभविता अमृध्रः अहिंसितः यः मदः हर्षः हे इन्द्र ते त्वया देयः शूशुवांसं प्रवृद्धं तं मदं नः अस्मभ्यम् आ भर आहर । त्वोताः त्वया रक्षिताः जिगीवांसः जितवन्तो वयं तोकस्य पुत्रस्य तनयस्य तत्पुत्रस्य च सातौ लाभे निमित्तभूते सति येन हर्षेण मंसीमहि त्वां स्तुवीमहि तमा भरेति पूर्वेणान्वयः ॥
“Impart to us, Indra, that your invigorating exultatio which overcomes enemies, and is irresistible, where by, protected by you, triumphant we may glorify you for the sake of (obtaining) sons and grandsons.”
Bring us, grown mighty in its strength, O Indra, thy friendly rapturous joy that wins the battle,
Wherewith by thee assisted and triumphant, we may laud thee in gaining seed and offspring.
Your exhilaration, conquering in battle, never shirking—bring us that, swollen with strength, o Indra,
through which we could be considered victors in the winning of
progeny and posterity, aided by you.
Welch Muth dir ist, nicht rastend, Schlacht gewinnend, den bring uns her, o Indra, den gewalt'gen, Durch den erlangend Kinderschar und Enkel, von dir gefördert, siegreich wir uns zeigen.
Deinen Rausch, den Schlachtengewinner, den nicht geringen, den bring uns, Indra, mit, den starken, durch den wir glauben dürfen bei dem Gewinnen von leiblichem Samen die von dir begünstigten Sieger zu sein.

आ नो॑ भर॒ वृष॑णं॒ शुष्म॑मिन्द्र धन॒स्पृतं॑ शूशु॒वांसं॑ सु॒दक्ष॑म् । येन॒ वंसा॑म॒ पृत॑नासु॒ शत्रू॒न्तवो॒तिभि॑रु॒त जा॒मीँरजा॑मीन् ॥
आ । नः॒ । भ॒र॒ । वृष॑णम् । शुष्म॑म् । इ॒न्द्र॒ । ध॒न॒ऽस्पृत॑म् । शू॒शु॒ऽवांस॑म् । सु॒ऽदक्ष॑म् । येन॑ । वंसा॑म । पृत॑नासु । शत्रू॑न् । तव॑ । ऊ॒तिऽभिः॑ । उ॒त । जा॒मीन् । अजा॑मीन् ॥
हे इन्द्र त्वं वृषणं वर्षितारं शुष्मं सेनालक्षणं बलं नः अस्मभ्यम् आ भर आहर । कीदृशम् । धनस्पृतं धनस्य पालकं शूशुवांसं प्रवृद्धं सुदक्षं शोभनबलम् । हे इन्द्र तवोतिभिः त्वदीयाभी रक्षाभिः पृतनासु संग्रामेषु । पृतना इति संग्रामनाम । येन बलेन शत्रून् वंसाम हनाम। उतेत्यत्र भिन्नक्रमः । जामीन् बन्धून् उत अपि च अजामीन् शत्रूंश्च येन शुष्मेण वंसाम तं शुष्ममा भरेति पूर्वेण संबन्धः ॥
“Bestow upon us, Indra, vigorous strenght, the realizer of wealth, great and propitious, wherewith, thorugh your protection, we may destroy our enemies in battles, whether they be kinsmen or strangers.”
Indra, bestow on us the power heroic skilled and exceeding strong, that wins the booty,
Wherewith, by thine assistance, we may conquer our foes in battle, be they kin or stranger.
Bring here to us, Indra, the bullish unbridled force that gains the stakes, swollen with strength, of good skill,
through which we will vanquish our rivals in battles, both kin and
non-kin, with your help.
Und Heldenkraft bring uns herbei, o Indra, die Preis erringt, sehr mächtige, gewalt'ge, Durch die in Schlachten Feinde wir besiegen durch deine Gunst, verwandte, unverwandte.
Indra, bring uns den bullenhaften Mut mit, der den Siegerpreis davonträgt, den überlegenen, sehr tüchtigen, durch den wir in den Schlachten die Feinde überwinden können, stammesverwandte und fremde, durch deine Gnaden.
Принеси нам мужественный пыл, о Индра,
Захватывающий богатство, бьющий через край, очень действенный,
С которым мы сможем одолеть в сражениях врагов:
Кровных родственников (или) чужих – с твоими поддержками!
आ ते॒ शुष्मो॑ वृष॒भ ए॑तु प॒श्चादोत्त॒राद॑ध॒रादा पु॒रस्ता॑त् । आ वि॒श्वतो॑ अ॒भि समे॑त्व॒र्वाङिन्द्र॑ द्यु॒म्नं स्व॑र्वद्धेह्य॒स्मे ॥
आ । ते॒ । शुष्मः॑ । वृ॒ष॒भः । ए॒तु॒ । प॒श्चात् । आ । उ॒त्त॒रात् । अ॒ध॒रात् । आ । पु॒रस्ता॑त् । आ । वि॒श्वतः॑ । अ॒भि । सम् । ए॒तु॒ । अ॒र्वाङ् । इन्द्र॑ । द्यु॒म्नम् । स्वः॑ऽवत् । धे॒हि॒ । अ॒स्मे इति॑ ॥
हे इन्द्र वृषभः वर्षिता ते त्वदीयं शुष्मः बलम् अर्वाङ् अस्मदभिमुखः सन् पश्चात् पश्चिमभागात् आ एतु आगच्छतु । उत्तरात् उत्तरभागात् आ गच्छतु । अधरात् दक्षिणभागाच्चैतु। पुरस्तात् पूर्वभागाच्च आ गच्छतु । विश्वतः सर्वस्माद्दिग्भागात् अभि अस्मानभिलक्ष्य आ समेतु सम्यगागच्छतु । हे इन्द्र त्वं स्वर्वत् सुखयुक्तं द्युम्नं धनम् अस्मे अस्मभ्यं धेहि प्रयच्छ ॥
“May your invigorating srength come from the west, from the north, from the south, from the east; may it come to us from every quarter; grant us riches combined with felicity.”
Let thine heroic strength come from behind us, before us, from above us or below us.
From every side may it approach us, Indra. Give us the glory of the realm of splendour.
Let your unbridled force, a bull, come here from behind, here from above and below, here from in front.
Let it come altogether toward us from all sides. Indra, grant to us
sun-like brilliance.
Her komme deine Heldenkraft von oben, von unten her, von vorne und von hinten, Von allen Seiten komme nah herbei sie, o Indra, schenk uns glanzbegabten Reichthum.
Dieser dein Mut komme wie ein Stier von hinten, von oben, von unten, von vorne, von allen Seiten soll er herkommen. O Indra, verleih uns sonnenhaften Glanz!
Да придет твой пыл, (подобный) быку, сзади,
Сверху, снизу, спереди,
Да придет он к нам со всех сторон!
О Индра, надели нас небесным блеском!
नृ॒वत्त॑ इन्द्र॒ नृत॑माभिरू॒ती वं॑सी॒महि॑ वा॒मं श्रोम॑तेभिः । ईक्षे॒ हि वस्व॑ उ॒भय॑स्य राज॒न्धा रत्नं॒ महि॑ स्थू॒रं बृ॒हन्त॑म् ॥
नृ॒ऽवत् । ते॒ । इ॒न्द्र॒ । नृऽत॑माभिः । ऊ॒ती । वं॒सी॒महि॑ । वा॒मम् । श्रोम॑तेभिः । ईक्षे॑ । हि । वस्वः॑ । उ॒भय॑स्य । रा॒ज॒न् । धाः । रत्न॑म् । महि॑ । स्थू॒रम् । बृ॒हन्त॑म् ॥
नृवत् मनुष्यैः परिचारकजनैर्युक्तं श्रोमतेभिः श्रोतव्यैर्यशोभिः सहितं वामं वननीयं धनं हे इन्द्र ते त्वत्तः नृतमाभिः नेतृतमाभिः ऊती ऊतिभी रक्षाभिः वंसीमहि वयं संभजेमहि । हि यस्मात् कारणात् हे राजन् राजमानेन्द्र त्वम् उभयस्य पार्थिवस्य दिव्यस्य च वस्वः धनस्य ईक्षे ईशिषे तस्मात् कारणात् महि महान्तं स्थूरं विपुलं बृहन्तं गुणैः परिवृढं रत्नं रमणीयं धनम् । अत्र रत्नशब्दः पुल्लिँङ्गः । धाः धेहि ॥
“We enjoy, Indra, through your guiding protection, desirable affluence along with descendants and reputation; grant us, sovereign, who rule over (earthly and heavenly) riches, vast, desirable and infinite treasures.”
With most heroic aid from thee, like heroes Indra, may we win wealth by deeds glory.
Thou, King, art Lord of earthly, heavenly treasure: vouchsafe us riches vast, sublime, and lasting.
Manfully, with your most manly help, Indra, we would win what is worth winning through your attentions.
Because you are master of both kinds of good, o king, grant a great, substantial, lofty treasure.
Lass, Indra, uns durch männerstärkste Hülfen mannhaften Schatz erlangen, uns erhörend; Denn du besitzest beides Gut, o König; gib grossen Reichthum, festen, aufgehäuften.
Nach Männerart möchten wir mit deinen mannhaftesten Hilfen durch die Ruhmestaten Gut gewinnen, Indra, denn du verfügst über beiderlei Gut, o König. Gib große, dauerhafte, hohe Belohnung!

इह अस्मिन् यज्ञे नूतनाय अभिनवाय अवसे रक्षणाय तं प्रसिद्धम् इन्द्रं हुवेम स्तुमः। आह्वयामो वा । कीदृशम् । मरुत्वन्तं मरुद्भिर्युक्तं वृषभं कामानां वर्षितारं ववृधानं प्रवृद्धम् अकवारिम् अकुत्सितशत्रुं दिव्यं द्योतमानं शासं शासितारं विश्वसहं विश्वस्य लोकस्य अभिभवितारम् उग्रम् ओजस्विनं सहोदां बलप्रदम्।
“We invoke on this occasion for his present protection, that Indra who is attended by the Maruts; who is the showerer (of benefits); augmenting (in prowess); the unreviled of foes, radiant, ruling, all-subduing, fierce, the giver of strength.”
The Bull, whose strength hath waxed, whom Maruts follow, free-giving Indra, the Celestial Ruler,
Mighty, all-conquering, the victory-giver, him let us call to grant us new protection.
Him, accompanied by the Maruts, the bull grown strong, not stingy, the heavenly commander—Indra—
the all-conquering, mighty giver of strength—him we would invoke here for present help.
Den Marutherrscher Indra, den erstarkten, der nimmer geizt, den himmlischen Gebieter, Den Allbesieger, starken Kraftverleiher, ihn rufen wir herbei zu neuer Hülfe.
Den erstarkten Bullen in Begleitung der Marutschar, der kein geiziger Herr ist, den himmlischen Gebieter Indra, den Allbezwinger, den gewaltigen Siegverleiher, den wollen wir zu erneutem Beistand hierher rufen.

येषु येषां नृणां मध्येऽहम् अस्मि एको भवामि हे वज्रिन् वज्रवन् इन्द्र त्वम् एभ्यो नृभ्य मनुष्येभ्यः महि महदत्यन्तमात्मानं मन्यमानं जनम् । बहुमन्यमानमित्यर्थः । रन्धय वशीकुरु चित् इति पादपूरणः । अध अधुना पृथिव्यां भूम्यां शूरसातौ युद्धे प्रवृत्ते सति तनये पुत्रे निमित्तं च गोषु पशुषु अप्सु उदकेषु च निमित्तेषु हे इन्द्र त्वा द्युलोके स्थितं त्वां हवामहे वयमाह्वयामः ।
“Wielder of the thunderbolt, humble that man who looks upon himself as the greatest among those men of whom I am; we invoke you now to (ascend) upon the earth at the time of battle, and for (the sake of obtaining) sond and grandsons.”
Give up the people who are high and haughty to these men and to me, O Thunder-wielder!
Therefore upon the earth do we invoke thee, where heroes win, for sons and kine and waters.
The person who thinks himself to be ever so great, o mace-bearer— make him subject to these superior men, among whom am I—
for therefore do we summon you at the contest of champions when the earth, lineage, cows, and waters (are at stake).
Den Mann, der gross sich dünkt, den überliefre den Männern, Blitzesherr, bei denen ich bin; Denn in dem Kampfe jetzt im Lande rufen wir dich um Kinder, Kühe an und Wasser.
Jedermann, mag er noch so groß sich dünken, mach, du Keulenträger, diesen Herrn untertan, auf deren Seite ich bin; denn darum rufen wir dich im Kampf um Land, um den tapfersten Helden, um leibliche Kinder, um Rinder, um Wasser.
О громовержец, даже народ, кажущийся себе очень великим,

व॒यम् । ते॒ । ए॒भिः । पु॒रु॒ऽहू॒त॒ । स॒ख्यैः । शत्रोः॑ऽशत्रोः । उत्ऽत॑रे । इत् । स्या॒म॒ । घ्नन्तः॑ । वृ॒त्राणि॑ । उ॒भया॑नि । शू॒र॒ । रा॒या । म॒दे॒म॒ । बृ॒ह॒ता । त्वाऽऊ॑ताः ॥
हे पुरुहूत बहुभिराहूतेन्द्र एभिः प्रसिद्धैः सख्यैः स्तोत्रलक्षणैः सखिकर्मभिः ते त्वया सह वयम् उभयानि जामिरूपाण्यजामिरूपाणि वृत्राणि अमित्राणि घ्नन्तः हिंसन्तः शत्रोःशत्रो सर्वस्माच्छत्रोः उत्तरे इत् स्याम अधिका एव भवेम । हे शूर विक्रान्तेन्द्र त्वोताः वयं त्वया रक्षिताः सन्तः बृहता महता राया धनेन मदेम हृष्यामः ॥ ॥ ८ ॥
“Invoked of many, may we, through these your friendly (praises), ever be superior to successive foes, destroying, oḥ hero, both (classes of) enemies, (kindred or unallied); and may we, protected by you, be happy with abundant riches.”
Through these thy friendships, God invoked of many! may we be victors over every foeman.
Slaying both kinds of foe, may we, O Hero, be happy, helped by thee, with ample riches.
By these partnerships with you, o much invoked one, might we be higher than each and every rival.
Smashing both kinds of obstacles, o champion, we would be exultant through lofty wealth, when helped by you.
Durch diese deine Freundschaft, vielgerufner, lass Sieger sein uns über alle Hasser, Die beiderseit'gen Feind', o Held, erschlagend, durch deine Huld an grossem Gut uns labend.
Wir wollen durch diese deine Freundschaftdienste, Vielgerufener, über jeden Feind die Oberhand haben. Beiderlei Feinde schlagend, o Held, wollen wir von dir begünstigt in großem Reichtum schwelgen.
