सं वां॒ कर्म॑णा॒ समि॒षा हि॑नो॒मीन्द्रा॑विष्णू॒ अप॑सस्पा॒रे अ॒स्य । जु॒षेथां॑ य॒ज्ञं द्रवि॑णं च धत्त॒मरि॑ष्टैर्नः प॒थिभि॑: पा॒रय॑न्ता ॥
सम् । वा॒म् । कर्म॑णा । सम् । इ॒षा । हि॒नो॒मि॒ । इन्द्रा॑विष्णू॒ इति॑ । अप॑सः । पा॒रे । अ॒स्य । जु॒षेथा॑म् । य॒ज्ञम् । द्रवि॑णम् । च॒ । ध॒त्त॒म् । अरि॑ष्टैः । नः॒ । प॒थिऽभिः॑ । पा॒रय॑न्ता ॥
हे इन्द्राविष्णू वां युवां कर्मणा स्तोत्रेण इषा हविषा च सं हिनोमि सम्यक् प्रेरयामि । अपसः कर्मणः अस्य उक्थस्य पारे समाप्तौ यज्ञं जुषेथां सेवेथाम् । किंच अरिष्टैः अनुपद्रवैः पथिभिः मार्गैः नः अस्मान् पारयन्ता पारं नयन्तौ युवां द्रविणं धनं धत्तम् अस्मभ्यं दत्तम् ॥
“I earnestly propitiate you, Indra and Viṣṇu, by worship and (sacrificial) food; upon the completion of the ite, accept the sacrifice, and grant us wealth, conducting us by safe path.”
INDRA and Visnu, at my task's completion I urge you on with food and sacred service.
Accept the sacrifice and grant us riches, leading us on by unobstructed pathways.
With ritual action and with refreshment I propel both of you together, o Indra and Viṣṇu, to the far shore of this labor.
Enjoy the sacrifice and confer wealth, causing us to cross on paths free of harm.
Euch, Indra-Vischnu, ehr' ich durch mein Wirken mit Labetrunk am Ziele dieser Arbeit; Geniesst das Opfer und verleiht uns Reichthum, auf sichern Wegen uns hinüberführend.
Durch Dienst und genußreiche Gabe treibe ich euch beide gemeinsam zur Eile, Indra und Vishnu, am Schluß dieses Opferwerks. Freuet euch des Opfers und bringet Reichtum, führet uns auf heilen Wegen zu gutem Ende!
Вместе вас двоих действием, вместе жертвенной усладой я поторапливаю,
О Индра-Вишну, при переправе через этот (жертвенный) труд.
Наслаждайтесь жертвой и наделите (нас) имуществом,
Переправляя нас (к цели) безопасными путями!
या विश्वा॑सां जनि॒तारा॑ मती॒नामिन्द्रा॒विष्णू॑ क॒लशा॑ सोम॒धाना॑ । प्र वां॒ गिर॑: श॒स्यमा॑ना अवन्तु॒ प्र स्तोमा॑सो गी॒यमा॑नासो अ॒र्कैः ॥
या । विश्वा॑साम् । ज॒नि॒तारा॑ । म॒ती॒नाम् । इन्द्रा॒विष्णू॒ इति॑ । क॒लशा॑ । सो॒म॒ऽधाना॑ । प्र । वा॒म् । गिरः॑ । श॒स्यमा॑नाः । अ॒व॒न्तु॒ । प्र । स्तोमा॑सः । गी॒यमा॑नासः । अ॒र्कैः ॥
या यौ प्रसिद्धौ इन्द्राविष्णू विश्वासां सर्वासां मतीनां स्तुतीनां जनितारा जनितारौ ॥ ‘ जन जनने ' इत्यस्मात् धातोः तृचि इदं रूपम् । यद्वा । ‘ जनी प्रादुर्भावे ' इत्यस्मात् धातोरेव तृचि । जनिता मन्त्रे ' इति निपातनात् णिलोपः ॥ “ कलशा कलशौ सोमधाना सोमस्य निधानभूतौ च स्याताम् । अथ प्रत्यक्षस्तुतिः । हे इन्द्राविष्णू वां युवां शस्यमानाः उच्चार्यमाणाः शस्त्ररूपाः गिरः वाचः प्र अवन्तु प्राप्नुवन्तु । अर्कैः स्तोतृभिः गीयमानासः गीयमानाः स्तोमासः स्तोमाः स्तोत्राणि च प्र अवन्तु प्राप्नुवन्तु ॥
“May the prayers that are prepared to you reach you, Indra and Viṣṇu; may the praises that are chanted reach you; you are the genitive rators of all praisses, pitchers recipient of the Soma libation.”
Ye who inspire all hymns, Indra and Visnu, ye vessels who contain the Soma juices,
May hymns of praise that now are sung address you, the lauds that are recited by the singers.
O Indra and Viṣṇu, who are the begetters of all thoughts, the two tubs holding soma—
let the hymns as they are being recited help you forward, forward the praises as they are being sung in the form of chants [/along with the rays (of the sun)].
Die ihr Erzeuger seid jedweder Andacht, und Indra-Vischnu, Somafässern gleichet, Euch mögen letzen die gesprochnen Verse, Loblieder euch, gesungen von den Sängern.
Die aller Gedanken Erzeuger sind, Indra und Vishnu, die beiden somahaltigen Gefäße, euch sollen die vorgetragenen Lobreden bevorzugen und die Lobesworte, die in Liedern gesungen werden.
(Вы двое,) что порождаете все (поэтические) мысли,
О Индра-Вишну, (вы -) два сосуда, заключающие в себе сому.
Пусть поддержат вас произносимые (нами) слова,
Пусть под(держат) восхваления, которые поются в песнях!

हे इन्द्राविष्णू मदानां सोमानां मदपती स्वामिनौ । मदपती इत्यत्र मदशब्दः अनुवादः । द्रविणो द्रविणानि धनान्यपि ॥ द्रविणा उ इति पदद्वयमेकीभूय द्रविणो इति निष्पन्नं पदम् ॥ दधाना ददानौ युवां सोमम् अभि आ यातम् । मतीनां स्तोतॄणां स्तोमासः स्तोत्राणि उक्थैः शस्त्रैः सार्धं शस्यमानासः उच्चार्यमाणाः वां युवाम् अक्तुभिः तेजोभिः सम् अञ्जन्तु समर्धयन्तु । सं समिति द्विरुक्तिरादार्था ।
“Indra and Viṣṇu, lords of the exhilaration, of the exhilarating Soma, come to (drink) the Soma, bringing (with you) wealth; may the encomiums of the praises repeated along with the prayers anoint you completely with radiance.”
Lords of joy-giving draughts, Indra and Visnu, come, giving gifts of treasure, to the Soma.
With brilliant rays of hymns let chanted praises, repeated with the lauds, adorn and deck you.
O Indra and Viṣṇu, exhilaration-lords of the exhilarating drinks, drive here to the soma, while conferring wealth.
Let the praises as they are being recited in solemn words anoint both of you together with the ointments of thoughts [/through the
nights].
O Indra-Vischnu, ihr der Tränke Trankherrn, kommt her zum Soma, Schätze uns verleihend; Es salben euch mit Salben der Gebete die hergesagten Sprüche nebst den Liedern.
Indra und Vishnu, ihr Herren der Rauschtränke, kommet zum Soma, Reichtum bringend! Sie sollen euch einsalben mit der Salbung der frommen Gedanken, die Lobesworte, die in Preisliedern vorgetragen werden.
О Индра-Вишну, два повелителя опьянения из опьянений,
Приходите на сому, наделяя (нас) имуществом!
Пусть намажут вас мазями (поэтических) мыслей,
Пусть на(мажут) вас восхваления, произносимые в гимнах!
आ वा॒मश्वा॑सो अभिमाति॒षाह॒ इन्द्रा॑विष्णू सध॒मादो॑ वहन्तु । जु॒षेथां॒ विश्वा॒ हव॑ना मती॒नामुप॒ ब्रह्मा॑णि शृणुतं॒ गिरो॑ मे ॥
आ । वा॒म् । अश्वा॑सः । अ॒भि॒मा॒ति॒ऽसहः॑ । इन्द्रा॑विष्णू॒ इति॑ । स॒ध॒ऽमादः॑ । व॒ह॒न्तु॒ । जु॒षेथा॑म् । विश्वा॑ । हव॑ना । म॒ती॒नाम् । उप॑ । ब्रह्मा॑णि । शृ॒णु॒त॒म् । गिरः॑ । मे॒ ॥
हे इन्द्राविष्णू वां युवाम् अभिमातिषाहः अभिमातीनां हिंसकानामभिभवितारः सधमादः सह माद्यन्तः अश्वासः अश्वाः आ वहन्तु । मतीनां स्तोतॄणां विश्वा विश्वानि सर्वाणि हवना हवनानि स्तोत्राणि जुषेथां सेवेथाम् । तदर्थं मे मदीयानि ब्रह्माणि स्तोत्राणि गिरः शस्त्ररूपा वाचश्च उप शृणुतम् ॥
“May your equaly-spirited steeds, Indra and Viṣṇu, the triumphant over enemies, bear you hither, be plural ased with all the invocations of your worshippers; hear my prayers and praises.”
May your foe-conquering horses bring you hither, Indra and Visnu, sharers of the banquet.
Of all our hymns accept the invocations list to my prayers and hear the songs I sing you.
Let your horses, vanquishing hostility, sharers in exhilaration, convey you two here, o Indra and Viṣṇu.
Enjoy all the invocations of our thoughts. Harken to my sacred
formulations, my hymns.
Euch Feindbezwinger mögen her die Rosse, o Indra-Vischnu, die Genossen fahren; Lasst allen Ruf der Andacht euch gefallen, erhöret meine Lieder und Gebete.
Euch sollen, über die feindlichen Anschläge siegreich, die Rosse herfahren, eure Zechgenossen, Indra und Vishnu! Nehmet alle Ladungen der Lieder gut auf, erhöret meine erbaulichen Reden, meine Lobesworte!
Пусть привезут вас кони, преодолевающие происки (врагов),
О Индра-Вишну, (ваши) сотрапезники!
Наслаждайтесь всеми призывами (наших поэтических) мыслей!
Прислушайтесь к священным словам и моим песням!
इन्द्रा॑विष्णू॒ तत्प॑न॒याय्यं॑ वां॒ सोम॑स्य॒ मद॑ उ॒रु च॑क्रमाथे । अकृ॑णुतम॒न्तरि॑क्षं॒ वरी॒योऽप्र॑थतं जी॒वसे॑ नो॒ रजां॑सि ॥
इन्द्रा॑विष्णू॒ इति॑ । तत् । प॒न॒याय्य॑म् । वा॒म् । सोम॑स्य । मदे॑ । उ॒रु । च॒क्र॒मा॒थे॒ इति॑ । अकृ॑णुतम् । अ॒न्तरि॑क्षम् । वरी॑यः । अप्र॑थतम् । जी॒वसे॑ । नः॒ । रजां॑सि ॥
हे इन्द्राविष्णू वां युवयोः तत् कर्म पनयाय्यं स्तुत्यम् । किं तत् कर्मेत्यत आह । सोमस्य मदे सति यत् उरु विस्तीर्णं चक्रमाथे विचक्रमाथे । यद्यपि विष्णोरेव विक्रमः तथापि एकार्थत्वादुभयोरित्युच्यते । यच्च अन्तरिक्षं वरीयः उरुतरम् अकृणुतम् अकुरुतम् । यदपि च रजांसि लोकान् सर्वान् । 'लोका रजांस्युच्यन्ते ' इति यास्कः । नः अस्माकं जीवसे जीवनाय अप्रथतम् अप्रथयतम् ॥
“Indra and Viṣṇu, that (exploit) is to be glorified, by which, in the exhilaration of the Soma, you have strode over the wide (space); you have traversed the wide firmament; you have declared the worlds (fit) for our existence.”
This your deed, Indra-Visnu, must be lauded: widely ye strode in the wild joy of Soma.
Ye made the firmament of larger compass, and made the regions broad for our existence.
O Indra and Viṣṇu, this (deed) of yours is worthy of admiration: in the exhilaration of soma you two strode widely;
you made the midspace wider; you spread out the realms for us to live.
O Indra-Vischnu, das ist hoch zu preisen, dass weiten Raum ihr schuft im Somarausche; Ihr dehntet weiter aus den Kreis der Lüfte und machtet weit zum Leben uns die Räume.
Indra und Vishnu! Das ist euch hoch anzurechnen: Im Rausche des Soma seid ihr weit ausgeschritten. Ihr machet das Luftreich weiter, ihr habt die Welten ausgebreitet, uns zum Leben.
О Индра-Вишну, (вот) это удивительно у вас:
В опьянении сомой вы (всегда) шагали далеко (вперед).
Вы сделали воздушное пространство шире,
Вы распространили просторы, чтобы (мы) жили.
इन्द्रा॑विष्णू ह॒विषा॑ वावृधा॒नाग्रा॑द्वाना॒ नम॑सा रातहव्या । घृता॑सुती॒ द्रवि॑णं धत्तम॒स्मे स॑मु॒द्रः स्थ॑: क॒लश॑: सोम॒धान॑: ॥
इन्द्रा॑विष्णू॒ इति॑ । ह॒विषा॑ । व॒वृ॒धा॒ना । अग्र॑ऽअद्वाना । नम॑सा । रा॒त॒ऽह॒व्या॒ । घृता॑सुती॒ इति॒ घृत॑ऽआसुती । द्रवि॑णम् । ध॒त्त॒म् । अ॒स्मे इति॑ । स॒मु॒द्रः । स्थः॒ । क॒लशः॑ । सो॒म॒ऽधानः॑ ॥
घृतासुती घृतान्नौ इन्द्राविष्णू युवां हविषा सोमेन वावृधाना वर्धमानौ अग्राद्वाना सोमाग्रस्य शुक्रस्य अत्तारौ नमसा नमस्कारेण रातहव्या दत्तहविष्कौ यजमानैः अस्मे अस्मभ्यं द्रविणं धनं धत्तं प्रयच्छतम् । किंच युवां समुद्रः उदधिरिव स्थः भवथः । यतः सोमधानः सोमनिधानः कलशः भवथः ॥
“Indra and Viṣṇu, feeders upon clarified butter, drinkers of he fermented Soma, thriving upon oblations, accepting them offered with reverence, bestow upon us wealth; for you are an ocean, a pitcher, the receptacle of the libation.”
Strengthened with sacred offerings, IndraVisnu, first eaters, served with worship ana oblation,
Fed with the holy oil, vouchsafe us riches ye are the lake, the vat that holds the Soma.
O Indra and Viṣṇu, you who eat first, you on whom the oblation is bestowed with reverence—having grown strong through the oblation, confer wealth on us, o you whose drink is ghee. You two are the sea, the tub holding soma.
An Opfertrank euch labend, Indra-Vischnu, zuerst geniessend, huldvoll Opfer nehmend, Gebt Reichthum uns, o Trinker fetter Brühe, ein Meer seid ihr, ein Eimer Soma fassend.
Indra und Vishnu! Durch Opfer gestärkt, die Ersten beim Mahle, denen unter Verbeugung das Opfer dargebracht wird, den Schmalzaufguß genießend, bringet uns Reichtum! Ihr seid wie das Meer, wie ein somahaltiges Gefäß.
О Индра-Вишну, усиленные жертвенным возлиянием,
Вкушающие первыми (среди богов), получающие жертвы с поклонением,
(Те,) чье питье – расплавленное масло, наделите нас имуществом!
Вы – океан, сосуд, заключающий в себе сому.

दस्रा हे दर्शनीयौ इन्द्राविष्णू युवां मध्वो अस्य मदकरमिमं सोमस्य सोमं पिबतम् । किंच जठरम् उदरं पृणेथां सोमेन पूरयेथाम् । हे इन्द्राविष्णू वां युवां मदिराणि मदकराणि अन्धांसि सोमात्मकान्यन्नानि आ अग्मन् अभिगच्छन्तु । मे मदीयानि ब्रह्माणि स्तोत्राणि हवं मदीयमाह्वानं च उप शृणुतम् ॥
“Indra and Viṣṇu, agreeable of aspect, drink of this sweet Soma; fill with it your bellies; may the inebriating Soma reach you; hear my prayers, my invocation.”
Drink of this meath, O Indra, thou, and Visnu; drink ye your fill of Soma, Wonder-Workers.
The sweet exhilarating juice hath reached you. Hear ye my prayers, give ear unto my calling.
O Indra and Viṣṇu, drink of this honey, of the soma, o wondrous ones. Fill your belly.
The exhilarating stalks have come to you. Harken to my sacred
formulations, my call.
O Indra-Vischnu, trinkt von diesem Soma und füllt den Bauch mit süssem Trank, o hehre, Euch eilten zu die Säfte, die berauschen, vernehmt mein Rufen höret die Gebete.
Indra und Vishnu! Trinket von diesem Met, füllet, ihr Meister, den Bauch mit Soma! Für euch sind die berauschenden Getränke da. Höret auf meine erbaulichen Reden, auf meinen Anruf!
О Индра-Вишну, испейте этого сладкого
Сомы, о чудесные, наполните себе живот!
К вам приблизились пьянящие соки.
Прислушайтесь к священным словам и моему зову!
उ॒भा जि॑ग्यथु॒र्न परा॑ जयेथे॒ न परा॑ जिग्ये कत॒रश्च॒नैनो॑: । इन्द्र॑श्च विष्णो॒ यदप॑स्पृधेथां त्रे॒धा स॒हस्रं॒ वि तदै॑रयेथाम् ॥
उ॒भा । जि॒ग्य॒थुः॒ । न । परा॑ । ज॒ये॒थे॒ इति॑ । न । परा॑ । जि॒ग्ये॒ । क॒त॒रः । च॒न । ए॒नोः॒ । इन्द्रः॑ । च॒ । वि॒ष्णो॒ इति॑ । यत् । अप॑स्पृधेथाम् । त्रे॒धा । स॒हस्र॑म् । वि । तत् । ऐ॒र॒ये॒था॒म् ॥
हे इन्द्राविष्णू उभा उभौ युवां जिग्यथुः शत्रूनजैष्टम् । न परा जयेथे न पुनः कदाचन पराजयेथे । एनोः एनयोर्युवयोर्मध्ये कतरश्चन एकतरोऽपि न परा जिग्ये न पराजैष्ट। हे विष्णो इन्द्रश्च त्वं च युवां यत् यद्वस्तु प्रति अपस्पृधेथाम् असुरैः सहास्पृधेथां त्रेधा लोकवेदवागात्मना त्रिधा स्थितं सहस्रम् अमितं च वि तत् ऐरयेथां व्यक्रमेथामित्यर्थः । तथा च ब्राह्मणम् - ‘ उभा जिग्यथुरित्यच्छावाकस्योभौ हि तौ जिग्यतुर्न परा जयेथे न परा जिग्य इति न हि तयोः कतरश्चन पराजिग्य इन्द्रश्च विष्णो यदपस्पृधेथां त्रेधा सहस्रं वि तदैरयेथामितीन्द्रश्च ह वै विष्णुश्चासुरैर्युयुधाते तान् ह स्म जित्वोचतुः कल्पामहा इति ते ह तथेत्यसुरा ऊचुः सोऽब्रवीदिन्द्रो यावदेवायं विष्णुस्त्रिर्विक्रमते तावदस्माकमथ युष्माकमितरदिति स इमाल्ँलोकान्विचक्रमेऽथो वेदानथो वाचं तदाहुः किं तत्सहस्रमितीमे लोका इमे वेदा अथो वागिति ब्रूयादैरयेथामैरयेथाम् ' ( ऐ. ब्रा. ६:१५ ) इति । यद्वा । तत् सहस्रं गवां सहस्रं त्रेधा व्यैरयेथामित्यर्थः ॥ ॥ १३ ॥
“You have both (ever) been victorious; never have been conquered; neither of you two has been vanquished; with whomsoever you have contended you have thrice conquered thousands.”
Ye Twain have conquered, ne'er have yc been conquered: never hath either of the Twain been vanquished.
Ye, Indra-Visnu, when ye fought the battle, produced this infinite with three divisions.
You both have conquered; you are not conquered. Neither one of these two has been conquered.
O Viṣṇu and you Indra, when you two were contending, you broke apart the thousand in three parts.
Stets siegt ihr beide, nimmer unterliegt ihr; nie zog den kürzern einer von euch beiden; O Indra-Vischnu, was ihr je erstrebt habt, das habt erlangt ihr auch zu tausend malen.
Ihr beide habt gesiegt, nicht seid ihr unterlegen; keiner von ihnen beiden ist unterlegen, als ihr, Indra und Vishnu, in Streit geraten waret, da teiltet ihr das Tausend Kühe in drei Teile.
Вы оба (всегда) побеждали. Вы не терпите поражения (и сейчас):
Ни один из этих двоих (никогда) не терпел поражения.
О Индра и Вишну, когда вы соперничали друг с другом,
Вы разделили между собой на три части тысячу (коров).
