म॒हाँ अ॑स्यध्व॒रस्य॑ प्रके॒तो न ऋ॒ते त्वद॒मृता॑ मादयन्ते । आ विश्वे॑भिः स॒रथं॑ याहि दे॒वैर्न्य॑ग्ने॒ होता॑ प्रथ॒मः स॑दे॒ह ॥
म॒हान् । अ॒सि॒ । अ॒ध्व॒रस्य॑ । प्र॒ऽके॒तः । न । ऋ॒ते । त्वत् । अ॒मृताः॑ । मा॒द॒य॒न्ते॒ । आ । विश्वे॑भिः । स॒रथ॑म् । या॒हि॒ । दे॒वैः । नि । अ॒ग्ने॒ । होता॑ । प्र॒थ॒मः । स॒द॒ । इ॒ह ॥
हे अग्ने त्वम् अध्वरस्य प्रकेतः प्रज्ञापनः सन् महानसि । त्वत् ऋते त्वया विना अमृताः देवाः न मादयन्ते न माद्यन्ति। विश्वेभिः विश्वैः देवैः सरथं यथा भवति आ याहि च । इह आस्तीर्णे बर्हिषि प्रथमः मुख्यः होता आह्वाता सन् नि सद निषीद च ॥
“Great are you, Agni, the manifester of the solemnity without you the immortals do not rejoice; come inthe same chariot with all the gods; sit down here the chief, the ministrant priest.”
GREAT art thou, Agni, sacrifice's Herald: not without thee are deathless Gods made joyful.
Come hither with all Deities about thee here take thy seat, the first, as Priest, O Agni.
You are the great sign of the rite; without you the immortals find no elation.
Travel hither in the same chariot with all the gods. Agni, take your seat here as the first Hotar.
Du bist des Festes herrlicher Erleuchter; niemals erfreun sich ohne dich die Götter; Mit allen Göttern komm auf gleichem Wagen und setz dich, Agni, her als erster Priester.
Du bist die große Leuchte des Opfers; ohne dich ergötzen sich die Unsterblichen nicht. Komm mit allen Göttern auf einem Wagen; nimm, Agni, hier als der Hotri zuerst Platz!

त्वामी॑ळते अजि॒रं दू॒त्या॑य ह॒विष्म॑न्त॒: सद॒मिन्मानु॑षासः । यस्य॑ दे॒वैरास॑दो ब॒र्हिर॒ग्नेऽहा॑न्यस्मै सु॒दिना॑ भवन्ति ॥
त्वाम् । ई॒ळ॒ते॒ । अ॒जि॒रम् । दू॒त्या॑य । ह॒विष्म॑न्तः । सद॑म् । इत् । मानु॑षासः । यस्य॑ । दे॒वैः । आ । अस॑दः । ब॒र्हिः । अ॒ग्ने॒ । अहा॑नि । अ॒स्मै॒ । सु॒ऽदिना॑ । भ॒व॒न्ति॒ ॥
हे अग्ने अजिरं प्रगामिनं त्वां मानुषासः मानुषाः हविष्मन्तः यजमानाः सदमित् सदैव दूत्याय दूतकर्मणे हविर्वहनाय ईळते याचन्ते । किमर्थमित्यत आह । यस्य हविष्मतः बर्हिः देवैः सार्धम् आसदः त्वमधितिष्ठसि अस्मै हविष्मते अहानि सुदिना सुदिनानि शोभनदिनानि भवन्ति ॥
“Men offering oblations, ever solicit you the quick-going (to undertake) the office of their messenger, forto him, on whose sacred grass you sit with the gods, the days are prosperous.”
Men with oblations evermore entreat thee, the swift, to undertake an envoy's duty.
He on whose sacred grass with Gods thou sittest, to him, O Agni, are the days propitious.
Bringing offerings, the descendants of Manu always invoke you, the nimble one, to act as messenger.
Upon whose sacred grass you sit with the gods, o Agni, for him the days become bright shining.
Dich fordern stets, die Opferspeisen bringend, den emsigen, die Menschen auf zur Botschaft; Auf wessen Streu du, Agni, mit den Göttern dich niederlässt, dem werden heitre Tage.
Dich Flinken berufen stets die opfernden Menschen zum Botenamt. Dem werden glückliche Tage zuteil, auf dessen Barhis du, Agni, dich mit den Göttern niedergelassen hast.
Тебя, проворного, всегда призывают для службы вестника
Люди, приготовившие жертвенные приношения.
На чью жертвенную солому ты уселся вместе с богами, о Агни,
Дни бывают для того светлыми.
त्रिश्चि॑द॒क्तोः प्र चि॑कितु॒र्वसू॑नि॒ त्वे अ॒न्तर्दा॒शुषे॒ मर्त्या॑य । म॒नु॒ष्वद॑ग्न इ॒ह य॑क्षि दे॒वान्भवा॑ नो दू॒तो अ॑भिशस्ति॒पावा॑ ॥
त्रिः । चि॒त् । अ॒क्तोः । प्र । चि॒कि॒तुः॒ । वसू॑नि । त्वे इति॑ । अ॒न्तः । दा॒शुषे॑ । मर्त्या॑य । म॒नु॒ष्वत् । अ॒ग्ने॒ । इ॒ह । य॒क्षि॒ । दे॒वान् । भव॑ । नः॒ । दू॒तः । अ॒भि॒श॒स्ति॒ऽपावा॑ ॥
हे अग्ने त्वे त्वयि अन्तः मध्ये अक्तोः अह्नः। यद्यप्यक्तुरिति रात्रेर्नाम तथाप्यत्राज्यन्ते व्यज्यन्ते रूपादीन्यस्मिन्नित्यह्नो नाम । त्रिः त्रिवारं त्रिषु सवनेषु वसूनि हवींषि दाशुषे हविषां प्रदात्रे मर्त्याय मनुष्याय । तदर्थमित्यर्थः। प्र चिकितुः प्रवेदयन्त्यृत्विजः । यद्वा । अक्तोरह्नि त्रिस्त्रीन् अग्निमश्वमजं च त्वय्यन्तर्निहितानि प्र चिकितुः । अविदन्नित्यर्थः । अपि च मनुष्वत् मनोरिव इह ममास्मिन् यज्ञे दूतः त्वं देवान् यक्षि यज । नः अस्माकम् अभिशस्तिपावा अभिशस्तेः अभिशंसकात् शात्रवात् पावा रक्षिता भव ॥
“In you, Agni, thrice in the day, (the priests) make manifest the treasures (of the oblation) for (the benefitof the) mortal donor; worship the gods on this occasion, Agni, as (you did) for Manu; be our messenger, ourprotector against malignity.”
Three times a day in thee are shown the treasures sent for the mortal who presents oblation.
Bring the Gods hither like a man, O Agni: be thou our envoy, guarding us from curses.
Three times at night, good things become visible within you for the pious mortal.
As you did for Manu, o Agni, sacrifice here to the gods. Become our messenger, protecting us from curses.
Dreimal, sogar des Nachts, erscheinen Güter, die in dir ruhn für sterbliche Verehrer; Nach Menschen Weise opfre hier den Göttern, sei Bote uns, o Agni, Fluch abwehrend.
Dreimal des Nachts werden in dir die Schätze für den opfernden Menschen offenbar. Wie für Manu opfere hier den Göttern, Agni; sei unser Bote, der vor Verdächtigungen schützt!
Трижды за ночь возникают в тебе
Блага для почтившего (тебя) смертного.
Подобно Ману, о Агни, пожертвуй здесь богам!
Будь нам вестником, защитником от проклятья!
अ॒ग्निरी॑शे बृह॒तो अ॑ध्व॒रस्या॒ग्निर्विश्व॑स्य ह॒विष॑: कृ॒तस्य॑ । क्रतुं॒ ह्य॑स्य॒ वस॑वो जु॒षन्ताथा॑ दे॒वा द॑धिरे हव्य॒वाह॑म् ॥
अ॒ग्निः । ई॒शे॒ । बृ॒ह॒तः । अ॒ध्व॒रस्य॑ । अ॒ग्निः । विश्व॑स्य । ह॒विषः॑ । कृ॒तस्य॑ । क्रतु॑म् । हि । अ॒स्य॒ । वस॑वः । जु॒षन्त॑ । अथ॑ । दे॒वाः । द॒धि॒रे॒ । ह॒व्य॒ऽवाह॑म् ॥
बृहतः महतः अध्वरस्य कौटिल्यरहितस्य यज्ञस्य अग्निः ईशे ईष्टे । विश्वस्य सर्वस्य कृतस्य संस्कृतस्य हविषः च अग्निः एवेष्टे । हि यस्मात् अस्य अग्नेः क्रतुं कर्म वसवः देवाः जुषन्त सेवन्ते । अथ अपि च देवाः अग्निं हव्यवाहं हव्यानां वोढारं दधिरे चक्रिर इत्यर्थः ॥
“Agni presides over the solemn rite, over every consecrated oblation; the Vasus approved of his acts;the gods have made him the bearer of the offering.”
Lord of the lofty sacrifice is Agni, Agni is Lord of every gift presented.
The Vasus were contented with his wisdom, so the Gods made him their oblationbearer.
Agni is master of the rite reaching aloft; Agni, of every offering that is made,
for the good (gods) rejoice in his intention, and so the gods established him as the conveyor of oblations.
Agni ist Herr des hohen Opferfestes, und Agni jedes dargereichten Trunkes; Weil seine Kunst den guten Göttern lieb war, so setzten sie ihn ein zum Opferfahrer.
Agni ist Herr über das große Opfer, Agni über jede bereitete Opfergabe, denn die Vasu´s nehmen gern seinen Rat an, und die Götter haben ihn zu ihrem Opferfahrer gemacht.
Агни распоряжается высоким обрядом,
Агни (распоряжается) каждым совершенным возлиянием,
Так как Васу наслаждаются его силой духа,
И боги сделали его перевозчиком жертв.
आग्ने॑ वह हवि॒रद्या॑य दे॒वानिन्द्र॑ज्येष्ठास इ॒ह मा॑दयन्ताम् । इ॒मं य॒ज्ञं दि॒वि दे॒वेषु॑ धेहि यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभि॒: सदा॑ नः ॥
आ । अ॒ग्ने॒ । व॒ह॒ । ह॒विः॒ऽअद्या॑य । दे॒वान् । इन्द्र॑ऽज्येष्ठासः । इ॒ह । मा॒द॒य॒न्ता॒म् । इ॒मम् । य॒ज्ञम् । दि॒वि । दे॒वेषु॑ । धे॒हि॒ । यू॒यम् । पा॒त॒ । स्व॒स्तिऽभिः॑ । सदा॑ । नः॒ ॥
हे अग्ने हविरद्याय हविषां भक्षणाय देवान् आ वह । किमर्थमित्यत आह । इह अस्मिन् यज्ञे इन्द्रज्येष्ठासः इन्द्रप्रमुखा देवाः मादयन्ताम् । इमं यज्ञम् इदं यष्टव्यं हविः दिवि स्थितेषु देवेषु धेहि निधेहि । देवान्वेह नयेदं हविर्वा देवेषु नयेति भावः । अन्तिमः पादो व्याख्यातचरः ॥॥ १४ ॥
“Agni, bring the gods to eat of the oblation; may they, of whom Indra is the chief, be delighted on thisoccasion; convey this sacrifice to the deities in heaven, and do you ever cherish us with blessings.”
O Agni, bring the Gods to taste our presents: with Indra leading, here let them be joyful.
Convey this sacrifice to Gods in heaven. Ye Gods, preserve us evermore with blessings.
Agni, convey the gods hither to consume the oblations. Let those whose chief is Indra find elation here.
Place this sacrifice here in heaven among the gods. – Do you protect us always with your blessings.
Zum Mahle fahr, o Agni, her die Götter, geführt von Indra mögen hier sie schwelgen; Dies Opfer bringe himmelwärts den Göttern. Ihr Götter, schützt uns stets mit eurem Segen.
Agni! Fahre die Götter her zum Opfermahl, mit Indra an der Spitze sollen sie sich hier ergötzen. Bring dieses Opfer zu den Göttern im Himmel! - Behütet ihr uns immerdar mit eurem Segen!
О Агни, привези богов для вкушения жертв!
Да опьяняются здесь они с Индрой во главе!
Эту жертву помести на небе у богов!
Защищайте вы нас всегда (своими) милостями!
