द॒धि॒क्रां व॑: प्रथ॒मम॒श्विनो॒षस॑म॒ग्निं समि॑द्धं॒ भग॑मू॒तये॑ हुवे । इन्द्रं॒ विष्णुं॑ पू॒षणं॒ ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॑मादि॒त्यान्द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी अ॒पः स्व॑: ॥
द॒धि॒ऽक्राम् । वः॒ । प्र॒थ॒मम् । अ॒श्विना॑ । उ॒षस॑म् । अ॒ग्निम् । सम्ऽइ॑द्धम् । भग॑म् । ऊ॒तये॑ । हु॒वे॒ । इन्द्र॑म् । विष्णु॑म् । पू॒षण॑म् । ब्रह्म॑णः । पति॑म् । आ॒दि॒त्यान् । द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी इति॑ । अ॒पः । स्वः॑ ॥
हे स्तोतारः वः युष्माकम् ऊतये रक्षणाय प्रथमं दधिक्राम् अश्वाभिमानिनीं देवतां हुवे आह्वयामि । ततः अश्विना अश्विनौ देवौ उषसम् उषोदेवतां च समिद्धं सम्यग्दीप्तम् अग्निं च भगम् एतदाख्यं देवं च आह्वयामि । इन्द्रं विष्णुं पूषणं च ब्रह्मणस्पतिमादित्यान् द्यावापृथिवी अपः उदकदेवताः स्वः सूर्यमित्येतान् देवानाह्वयामि ॥
“For your preservation, (worshippers), I invoke, first, Dadhikrā, then the Aśvins, the Dawn, the kindledAgni, Bhaga, Indra, Viṣṇu, Pūṣan, Brahmaṇaspati, the Ādityas, heaven and earth, the waters, the sun.”
I CALL on Dadhikras, the first, to give you aid, the Asvins, Bhaga, Dawn, and Agni kindled well,
Indra, and Visnu, Pusan, Brahmanaspati, Adityas, Heaven and Earth, the Waters, and the Light.
Upon Dadhikrā as the first, upon the Aśvins and Dawn, upon the kindled Agni and Bhaga, do I call for your sake for help,
upon Indra, Viṣṇu, Pūṣan, and Brahmaṇaspati, upon the Ādityas,
Heaven and Earth, the Waters, and the Sun.
Den Dadhikra ruf ich zuerst zu Hülfe euch, die Ritter, Bhaga, Uschas und des Agni Glut, Und Indra, Vischnu, Puschan, den Gebetes Herrn, Aditja's, Himmel, Erde, Wasser, Himmelsglanz.
Zuerst rufe ich zu eurem Beistand den Dadhikra an, die Asvin, die Usas, den entflammten Agni, Bhaga, Indra, Vishnu, Pusan, Brahmanaspati, die Aditya´s, Himmel und Erde, die Gewässer, die Sonne.
Дадхикра для вас первым, Ашвинов, Ушас,
Агни зажженного, Бхагу я призываю на помощь,
Индру, Вишну, Пушана, Брахманаспати,
Адитьев, Небо-и-Землю, воды, солнце.

द॒धि॒ऽक्राम् । ऊँ॒ इति॑ । नम॑सा । बो॒धय॑न्तः । उ॒त्ऽईरा॑णाः । य॒ज्ञम् । उ॒प॒ऽप्र॒यन्तः॑ । इळा॑म् । दे॒वीम् । ब॒र्हिषि॑ । सा॒दय॑न्तः । अ॒श्विना॑ । विप्राः॑ । सु॒ऽहवा॑ । हु॒वे॒म॒ ॥
दधिक्राम् एतन्नामकमश्वविशेषं देवं नमसा स्तोत्रेण बोधयन्तः प्रज्ञापयन्तः उदीराणाः प्रेरयन्तः यज्ञं यागम् उपप्रयन्तः उपक्रममाणाः वयं बर्हिषि इळां हवीरूपां देवीं सादयन्तः आस्थापयन्तः सुहवा शोभनाह्वानौ विप्रा विप्रौ मेधाविनौ अश्विना अश्विनौ देवौ हुवेम आह्वयाम । उ इति पूरणः ॥
“Arousing and animating Dadhikrā, proceeding diligently with the sacrifice; seating the divine Iḷā onthe sacred grass, let us invoke the intelligent and worthily-invoked Aśvins.”
When, rising, to the sacrifice we hasten, awaking Dadhikras with adorations.
Seating on sacred grass the Goddess Ila. let us invoke the sage swift-hearing Asvins.
Awakening Dadhikrā with homage, rousing ourselves and reverently approaching the sacrifice,
seating the goddess Refreshment on the ritual grass, we would call upon the Aśvins, inspired poets easy to call.
Den Dadhikravan durch Gebet erweckend, aufstehend und zum Opfer vorwärts schreitend, Die Göttin Ida auf das Polster setzend, die weisen holden Ritter lasst uns rufen.
Indem wir den Dadhikravan durch Verneigung aufmerksam machen und uns erhebend zum Opfer schreiten und die göttliche Opferlabung auf das Barhis setzen, wollen wir die redekundigen, leicht zu errufenden Asvin anrufen.

Мы хотим поизвать Ашвинов. вдохновенных, легко призываемых.
द॒धि॒क्रावा॑णं बुबुधा॒नो अ॒ग्निमुप॑ ब्रुव उ॒षसं॒ सूर्यं॒ गाम् । ब्र॒ध्नं माँ॑श्च॒तोर्वरु॑णस्य ब॒भ्रुं ते विश्वा॒स्मद्दु॑रि॒ता या॑वयन्तु ॥
द॒धि॒ऽक्रावा॑णम् । बु॒बु॒धा॒नः । अ॒ग्निम् । उप॑ । ब्रु॒वे॒ । उ॒षस॑म् । सूर्य॑म् । गाम् । ब्र॒ध्नम् । मँ॒ंश्च॒तोः । वरु॑णस्य । ब॒भ्रुम् । ते । विश्वा॑ । अ॒स्मत् । दुः॒ऽइ॒ता । य॒व॒य॒न्तु॒ ॥
दधिक्रावाजम् अश्वविशेषं बुबुधानः स्तोत्रेण बोधयन्नहम् अग्निं देवम् उप ब्रुवे उपस्तौमि । तथा च उषसम् उषोदेवतां सूर्यं सर्वस्य प्रेरकं देवं गां भूमिम् । वाग्देवतां वा । एवंभूतान् देवानहमुपस्तौमि। मंश्चतोः । मन्यमानान् स्तुवतो जनांश्चेतयते जानातीति यद्वाभिमन्यमानांश्चातयते नाशयतीति मंश्चतुः। तस्य वरुणस्य ब्रध्नं महान्तं बभ्रुं पिङ्गलवर्णमश्वं तस्थानयनार्थमहमुप ब्रुवे। ते देवाः अस्मत् अस्मत्तः विश्वा विश्वानि सर्वाणि दुरिता दुरितानि पापानि यवयन्तु पृथक्कुर्वन्तु ॥
“Propitiating Dadhikrāvan, I glorify Agni, Uṣas, the sun, the earth, the great brown horse of Varuṇa,who is mindful of his adorers; may they put far away from us iniquities.”
While I am thus arousing Dadhikravan I speak to Agni, Earth, and Dawn, and Surya,
The red, the brown of Varuna ever mindful: may they ward off from us all grief and trouble.
To Dadhikrāvan and Agni do I speak on having awakened, and to Dawn, the Sun, and the Cow,
to the one of Varuṇa who is copper-colored at the twilights [=sun?] and to the reddish-brown one [=soma?]. Let them keep all difficulties away from us.
Den Dadhikra erweckend und den Agni, begrüss die Sonn' ich und die Morgenröthe; Varuna's rothes Ross, des Mondverscheuchers, die mögen von uns alle Leiden jagen.
Früh erwacht richte ich an Dadhikravan, an Agni, Usas, die Sonne, die Kuh meine Bitte, an den Falben des ......, an den Braunen des Varuna: Die sollen alle Fährlichkeiten von uns fernhalten.
К Дадхикравану я обращаюсь, пробудившись,
К Агни, Ушас, Сурье, корове,
К буланому коню Митры, к коричневому – Варуны.
Пусть отделят они от нас все опасности!

द॒धि॒ऽक्रावा॑ । प्र॒थ॒मः । वा॒जी । अर्वा॑ । अग्रे॑ । रथा॑नाम् । भ॒व॒ति॒ । प्र॒ऽजा॒नन् । स॒म्ऽवि॒दा॒नः । उ॒षसा॑ । सूर्ये॑ण । आ॒दि॒त्येभिः॑ । वसु॑ऽभिः । अङ्गि॑रःऽभिः ॥
प्रथमः सर्वेषामश्वानां मुख्यः वाजी शीघ्रगामी अर्वा गमनशीलः दधिक्रावा अश्वरूपो देवः प्रजानन् रथसंयोजनीयांस्तांस्तानश्वानधिष्ठाय ज्ञातव्यानि सम्यग्जानन् रथानाम् अग्रे प्रमुखः भवति। कीदृशोऽश्वः । उषसा उषोदेवतया सूर्येण सर्वस्य प्रेरकेण देवेन आदित्येभिः आदित्यैश्च वसुभिः च अङ्गिरोभिः देवैः सह स्तोतव्यैर्ऋषिभिश्च संविदानः सम्यग्जानन् । ऐकमत्वं प्राप्त इत्यर्थः ॥
“Dadhikrāvan, the swift steed, the first (of horses), knowing (his office), is in the front of the chariots (ofthe gods), consentient with Uṣas, with Sūrya, wiḥ the Ādityas, with the Vasus, with the Aṅgirasas.”
Foremost is Dadhikravan, vigorous courser; in forefront of the cars, his way he knoweth,
Closely allied with Surya and with Morning, Adityas, and Angirases, and Vasus.
Dadhikrāvan becomes the foremost prizewinning steed at the forefront of the chariots, as the foreknowing one,
being in accord with Dawn and the Sun, with the Ādityas, Vasus, and Aṅgirases.
Der erste schnelle Renner Dadhikravan geht an der Wagen Spitze, kennt die Wege, Mit Morgenroth und Sonne eng verbunden, mit den Aditja's, Vasu's, Angirasen.
Dadhikravan erscheint als der erste siegreiche Renner an der Spitze der Götterwagen, des Weges kundig, im Verein mit Usas, Surya, den Aditya´s, den Vasu´s, den Angiras´.
Дадхикраван – первый скакун, завоевывающий награду,
Он бывает во главе колесниц (как) знающий (путь),
В согласии с Ушас, Сурьей,
Адитьями, Васу, Ангирасами.
आ नो॑ दधि॒क्राः प॒थ्या॑मनक्त्वृ॒तस्य॒ पन्था॒मन्वे॑त॒वा उ॑ । शृ॒णोतु॑ नो॒ दैव्यं॒ शर्धो॑ अ॒ग्निः शृ॒ण्वन्तु॒ विश्वे॑ महि॒षा अमू॑राः ॥
आ । नः॒ । द॒धि॒ऽक्राः । प॒थ्या॑म् । अ॒न॒क्तु॒ । ऋ॒तस्य॑ । पन्था॑म् । अनु॑ऽए॒त॒वै । ऊँ॒ इति॑ । शृ॒णोतु॑ । नः॒ । दैव्य॑म् । शर्धः॑ । अ॒ग्निः । शृ॒ण्वन्तु॑ । विश्वे॑ । म॒हि॒षाः । अमू॑राः ॥
दधिक्राः अश्वरूपो देवः ऋतस्य यज्ञस्य पन्थां पन्थानं मार्गम् अन्वेतवै अनुगन्तुं प्रवृत्तानां नः अस्माकं पथ्यां पदवीम् आ अनक्तु उदकेनासिञ्चतु। उ इति पूरणः । दैव्यं शर्धः देवसंबन्धि बलमीदृग्रूपः अग्निः नः अस्मदीयं हवं शृणोतु । अमूराः अमूढाः महिषाः महान्तः विश्वे सर्वे देवा अस्मदीयं हवं शृण्वन्तु ॥ ॥ ११ ॥
“May Dadhikrā sprinkle our path (with water), that we may follow the road of sacrifice; may Agni, thestrength of the gods, here our (invocation); may the mighty, unperplexed, universal deities hear it.”
May Dadhikras prepare the way we travel that we may pass along the path of Order.
May Agni bear us, and the Heavenly Army: hear us all Mighty Ones whom none deceiveth.
Let Dadhikrā anoint our pathway, for us to follow along the path of truth.
Let the divine troop and Agni hear us. Let all the buffaloes, who are never fooled, hear us.
940 VII.45–46
Es ebne Dadhikra uns unsre Strasse, dass wir entlang den Pfad des Rechtes wandern, Es höre uns der Götter Schar und Agni, es hören alle einsichtsvollen Helden.
Dadhikra soll uns den Pfad glätten, daß wir dem Wege der Wahrheit folgen. Es sollen uns die göttliche Schar und Agni erhören, erhören all die die unbetörten Büffel!
Пусть Дадхикра умастит нашу стезю,
Чтобы следовали (мы) путем закона!
Пусть услышит нас небесная толпа (и) Агни,
Пусть услышат Все(-Боги), буйволы, лишенные заблуждений!
