स॒मु॒द्रज्ये॑ष्ठाः सलि॒लस्य॒ मध्या॑त्पुना॒ना य॒न्त्यनि॑विशमानाः । इन्द्रो॒ या व॒ज्री वृ॑ष॒भो र॒राद॒ ता आपो॑ दे॒वीरि॒ह माम॑वन्तु ॥
स॒मु॒द्रऽज्ये॑ष्ठाः । स॒लि॒लस्य॑ । मध्या॑त् । पु॒ना॒नाः । य॒न्ति॒ । अनि॑ऽविशमानाः । इन्द्रः॑ । या । व॒ज्री । वृ॒ष॒भः । र॒राद॑ । ताः । आपः॑ । दे॒वीः । इ॒ह । माम् । अ॒व॒न्तु॒ ॥
समुद्रज्येष्ठाः । समुद्रोऽर्णवो ज्येष्ठः प्रशस्यतमो यासामपां ताः । सलिलस्य । अन्तरिक्षनामैतत् । अन्तरिक्षस्य मध्यात् माध्यमिकात् स्थानात् यन्ति गच्छन्ति । कीदृश्थः । पुनानाः विश्वं शोधयन्त्यः अनिविशमानाः सर्वदा गच्छन्त्यः । वज्री वज्रभृत् वृषभः कामानां वर्षिता इन्द्रः याः निरूद्धा अपः रराद लिखति देवीः देव्यः ताः आपः इह अस्मिन् प्रदेशे स्थितं मामवन्तु रक्षन्तु अभिगच्छन्तु वा ॥
“The waters, with their ocen-chief, proceed from the midst of the firmament, purifying (all things), flowingunceasingly; may the divine waters, whom the thunder-bearing Indra, the showerer, sent forth, protect me here(on earth).”
FORTH from the middle of the flood the Waters-their chief the Sea-flow cleansing, never sleeping.
Indra, the Bull, the Thunderer, dug their channels: here let those Waters, Goddesses, protect me.
With ocean for their chief they flow unresting; From the aerial flood they hasten cleansing; For whom the mighty Indra's bolt cut channels, Here may those waters, goddesses, preserve me.
They come from the middle of the (heavenly?) ocean, those whose chief is the sea—becoming pure, never settling down,
whom the mace-bearing Indra, the bull, dug out—let those waters,
goddesses, help me here.
Die Wasserströme fliessen aus dem Luftmeer gereinigt aus und nirgend halten Rast sie; Sie, denen Indra mit dem Blitze Bahn brach, die göttlichen, sie mögen nun mir beistehn.
Dem Meer als ihrem Obersten gehorchend kommen sie geläutert mitten aus der Flut, ohne zu rasten. Indra, der Bulle mit der Keule hat ihre Bahn gefurcht: Diese göttlichen Gewässer sollen mich hier betreuen.
Подчиняясь океану, движутся они из середины
Пучины, очищаясь (и) не отдыхая.
Кому (русло) просверлил Индра-громовержец, бык,
Эти божественные воды пусть мне здесь помогут!
या आपो॑ दि॒व्या उ॒त वा॒ स्रव॑न्ति ख॒नित्रि॑मा उ॒त वा॒ याः स्व॑यं॒जाः । स॒मु॒द्रार्था॒ याः शुच॑यः पाव॒कास्ता आपो॑ दे॒वीरि॒ह माम॑वन्तु ॥
याः । आपः॑ । दि॒व्याः । उ॒त । वा॒ । स्रव॑न्ति । ख॒नित्रि॑माः । उ॒त । वा॒ । याः । स्व॒य॒म्ऽजाः । स॒मु॒द्रऽअ॑र्थाः । याः । शुच॑यः । पा॒व॒काः । ताः । आपः॑ । दे॒वीः । इ॒ह । माम् । अ॒व॒न्तु॒ ॥
या आपो दिव्याः अन्तरिक्षभवाः सन्ति। उत वा अपि च याः आपः नद्यादिगताः सत्यः स्रवन्ति गच्छन्ति । याश्च खनित्रिमाः खननेन निर्वृत्ताः। उत वा अपि च याः स्वयंजाः स्वयमेव प्रादुर्भवन्त्यः समुद्रार्थाः । समुद्र एवार्थो गन्तव्यो यासां ताः समुद्रार्थाः । शुचयः दीप्तियुक्ताः पावकाः शोधयित्र्यश्च भवन्ति । ता आपः मामवन्तु इति ॥
“May the waters that are in the sky, or those that flow (on the earth), those (whose channels) have beendug, or those that have sprung up spontaneously, and those that seek the ocean. All pure and purifying, maythose divine waters protect me here (on earth).”
Waters which come from heaven, or those that wander dug from the earth, or flowing free by nature,
Bright, purifying, speeding to the Ocean, here let those Waters. Goddesses, protect me.
Waters that come from heaven or run in channels Dug out, or flow spontaneously by nature, That, clear and pure, have as their goal the ocean: Here may those waters, goddesses, preserve me.
The heavenly waters, or those that flow, or are found by digging, or arise by themselves,
those, clear and pure, whose goal is the sea—let those waters, goddesses, help me here.

Des Himmels Wasser und die niederrinnen aus eignen Quellen oder in Kanälen, Die lautern, hellen, die zum Meere streben, die göttlichen, sie mögen nun mir beistehn.
Die himmlischen Gewässer oder die, welche fließen, die Gegrabenen oder Selbstentstandenen, deren Ziel das Meer ist, die reinen, lauteren, diese göttlichen Gewässer sollen mich hier betreuen.
(Те) небесные, а также (земные) вбды, которые текут,
Прорытые, а также (те,) которые сами возникли,
(Те,) что движутся к океану как к цели, прозрачные, чистые,
Эти божественные воды пусть мне здесь помогут!
यासां॒ राजा॒ वरु॑णो॒ याति॒ मध्ये॑ सत्यानृ॒ते अ॑व॒पश्य॒ञ्जना॑नाम् । म॒धु॒श्चुत॒: शुच॑यो॒ याः पा॑व॒कास्ता आपो॑ दे॒वीरि॒ह माम॑वन्तु ॥
यासा॑म् । राजा॑ । वरु॑णः । याति॑ । मध्ये॑ । स॒त्या॒नृ॒ते इति॑ । अ॒व॒ऽपश्य॑न् । जना॑नाम् । म॒धु॒ऽश्चुतः॑ । शुच॑यः । याः । पा॒व॒काः । ताः । आपः॑ । दे॒वीः । इ॒ह । माम् । अ॒व॒न्तु॒ ॥
वरुणः यासाम् अपां राजा स्वामी मध्ये मध्यमलोके याति गच्छति । किं कुर्वन् । जनानां प्रजानां सत्यानृते सत्यं चानृतं च अवपश्यन् । जानन्नित्यर्थः। याः आपः मधुश्चुतः रसं क्षरन्त्यः शुचयः दीप्तियुक्ताः पावकाः शोधयित्र्यः। ता आपः देव्यः मां रक्षन्त्विति ॥
“Those whose sovereign, Varuṇa, passes in the middle sphere, discriminating the truth and falsehod ofmankind; those shedding sweet showers, pure and purifying; may those divine waters protect me here (on earth).”
Those amid whom goes Varuna the Sovran, he who discriminates men's truth and falsehood-
Distilling meath, the bright, the purifying, here let those Waters, Goddesses, protect me.
In midst of whom king Varuṇa is moving, And looking down surveys men's truth and falsehood: Who, clear and purifying, drip with sweetness: Here may those waters, goddesses, preserve me.
In the middle of which King Varuṇa travels, looking down upon the truth and falsehood of the peoples,
those, clear and pure, that drip honey—let those waters, goddesses, help me here.

In deren Flut Varuna fährt, der König, der Menschen Recht und Unrecht überschauend; Die lautern, hellen, die von Honig triefen, die göttlichen, sie mögen nun mir beistehn.
In deren Mitte König Varuna wandelt, Wahrheit und Lüge der Leute erspähend, die honigträufenden, reinen, lauteren, diese göttlichen Gewässer sollen mich hier betreuen.
Среди кого движется посредине царь Варуна,
Взирая на правду и ложь у людей,
(Те,) что медом сочатся, прозрачные, чистые,
Эти божественные воды пусть мне здесь помогут!
यासु॒ राजा॒ वरु॑णो॒ यासु॒ सोमो॒ विश्वे॑ दे॒वा यासूर्ज॒॒ मद॑न्ति । वै॒श्वा॒न॒रो यास्व॒ग्निः प्रवि॑ष्ट॒स्ता आपो॑ दे॒वीरि॒ह माम॑वन्तु ॥
यासु॑ । राजा॑ । वरु॑णः । यासु॑ । सोमः॑ । विश्वे॑ । दे॒वाः । यासु॑ । ऊर्ज॑म् । मद॑न्ति । वै॒श्वा॒न॒रः । यासु॑ । अ॒ग्निः । प्रऽवि॑ष्टः । ताः । आपः॑ । दे॒वीः । इ॒ह । माम् । अ॒व॒न्तु॒ ॥
अपां राजा वरुणः यासु अप्सु वर्तते । सोमः यासु अप्सु वर्तते । यासु अप्सु स्थिताः विश्वे सर्वे देवाः ऊर्जम् अन्नं मदन्ति। वैश्वानरः अग्निः यासु प्रविष्टः । ताः आपः देव्यः इह स्थितं मामवन्तु ॥ ॥ १६ ॥
“May they in which their king, Varuṇa, in which Soma, abides, in which the gods delight (to receive) thesacrificial food, into which Agni Vaiśvānara entered, may those diine waters protect me here (on earth).”
They from whom Varuna the King, and Soma, and all the Deities drink strength and vigour,
They into whom Vaisvanara Agni entered, here let those Waters, Goddesses, protect Me.
In whom king Varuṇa, in whom, too, Soma, In whom the All-gods drink exalted vigour; Into whom Agni, friend of all, has entered: Here may those waters, goddesses, preserve me.
Among which King Varuṇa, among which Soma, among which all the gods take their nourishment for exhilaration,
into which Agni Vaiśvānara entered—let those waters, goddesses, help me here.
An denen König Varuna und Soma, an denen alle Götter Kraft sich trinken, In die der männerholde Agni einging, die göttlichen, sie mögen nun mir beistehn.
In denen König Varuna, in denen Soma, in denen alle Götter sich Stärke antrinken, in die Agni Vaisvanara eingegangen ist, diese göttlichen Gewässer sollen mich hier betreuen.
Среди кого царь Варуна, среди кого Сома,
Все-Боги среди кого опьяняются питательной силой,
В кого проник Агни-Вайшванара,
