प्रति॒ स्तोमे॑भिरु॒षसं॒ वसि॑ष्ठा गी॒र्भिर्विप्रा॑सः प्रथ॒मा अ॑बुध्रन् । वि॒व॒र्तय॑न्तीं॒ रज॑सी॒ सम॑न्ते आविष्कृण्व॒तीं भुव॑नानि॒ विश्वा॑ ॥
प्रति॑ । स्तोमे॑भिः । उ॒षस॑म् । वसि॑ष्ठाः । गीः॒ऽभिः । विप्रा॑सः । प्र॒थ॒माः । अ॒बु॒ध्र॒न् । वि॒व॒र्तय॑न्तीम् । रज॑सी॒ इति॑ । सम॑न्ते॒ इति॒ सम्ऽअ॑न्ते । आ॒विः॒ऽकृ॒ण्व॒तीम् । भुव॑नानि । विश्वा॑ ॥
विप्रासः मेधाविनः वसिष्ठाः वसिष्ठगोत्राः स्तोमेभिः स्तोतृभिः प्रयुज्यमानाः गीर्भिः स्तुतिभिः प्रथमाः इतरयजमानेभ्यः पूर्वभूताः सन्तः उषसं प्रति अबुध्रन् प्रतिबोधयन्ति । कीदृशीमुषसं च । रजसी द्यावापृथिव्यौ समन्ते समानपर्यन्ते एकीभूतप्रान्ते विवर्तयन्तीं व्यावर्तयन्तीं विश्वा सर्वाणि भुवनानि भूतजातानि आविष्कृण्वतीं प्रकटीकुर्वतीं स्वभासा ॥
“The pious Vasiṣṭhas, first (of all worshippers) awaken with prayers and praises (each succeeding)dawn spreading over the like-bounded earth and heaven making all the regions manifest.”
THE priests, Vasisthas, are the first awakened to welcome Usas with their songs and praises,
Who makes surrounding regions part asunder,and shows apparent all existing creatures.
With their praises, with their hymns, the Vasiṣṭhas, inspired poets, have awakened first in response to Dawn,
as she unrolls the two adjoining realms, revealing all the beings.
Durch Lobgesang erweckten die Vasischtha's die Morgenröthe jetzt zuerst mit Liedern, Sie, die entrollt die beiden Nachbar-Welten, und offenbar macht, was da lebt und webet.
Mit Lobliedern, mit Lobreden haben die redekundigen Vasistha´s als Erste die Usas herangewacht, die das Dunkel und das Licht, die aneinanderstoßenden, umdreht und alle Welten offenbar macht.

Первыми пробудились навстречу Ушас,
Перевертывающей два граничащих (друг с другом) пространства,
Делающей явными все существа.
ए॒षा स्या नव्य॒मायु॒र्दधा॑ना गू॒ढ्वी तमो॒ ज्योति॑षो॒षा अ॑बोधि । अग्र॑ एति युव॒तिरह्र॑याणा॒ प्राचि॑कित॒त्सूर्यं॑ य॒ज्ञम॒ग्निम् ॥
ए॒षा । स्या । नव्य॑म् । आयुः॑ । दधा॑ना । गू॒ध्वी । तमः॑ । ज्योति॑षा॑ । उ॒षाः । अ॒बो॒धि॒ । अग्रे॑ । ए॒ति॒ । यु॒व॒तिः । अह्र॑याणा । प्र । अ॒चि॒कि॒त॒त् । सूर्य॑म् । य॒ज्ञम् । अ॒ग्निम् ॥
एषा उषाः स्या सा गतदिवसेषु प्रसिद्धा दृश्यमानैषा नव्यं नवतरम् आयुः आयुष्यम् । यौवनमित्यर्थः। तादृशं दधाना धारयन्ती गूढ़्वी गूढं तमः अन्धकारं ज्योतिषा स्वतेजसा निवारयन्ती अबोधि बुध्यते । अग्रे पुरोदेशे सूर्यस्य पुरस्ताद्देवानामग्रे वा । इतरदेवेभ्यः पूर्वमित्यर्थः । युवतिः नित्यतरुणी सर्वत्र मिश्रयन्ती वा अह्रयाणा । लुप्तोपमैषा । अलज्जा युवतिरिव । सा यथा पत्युरग्रे संचरति तद्वत् सूर्यस्य पुरस्तात् एति । एवंभूता सती सूर्यं यज्ञमग्निं च प्राचिकितत् प्रज्ञापयति ॥
“Bestowing new existence, dispersing the thick darkness by her radiance, the Dawn is awakened andlike an immodest dame, she comes before (the sun), and makes manifest Sūrya, sacrifice and Agni.”
Giving fresh life when she hath hid the darkness, this Dawn hath wakened there with new-born lustre.
Youthful and unrestrained she cometh forward: she hath turned thoughts to Sun and fire and worship.
And she has awakened, having taken on new life, having hidden the darkness with light—Dawn.
She goes in front, youthful and unabashed. She has brought to light the sun, the sacrifice, the fire.
Die Morgenröthe, neues Leben schaffend, das Dunkel bergend, ist erwacht mit Lichtglanz; Es geht voran die jugendliche, kühne und liess erscheinen Sonne, Opfer, Feuer.
Neues Leben bringend ist die Usas dort erwacht, nachdem sie das Dunkel durch ihr Licht versteckt hat. Die junge Frau geht dreist voraus; sie hat die Sonne, das Opfer, das Feuer angekündigt.
Это она, дающая новый срок жизни,
Ушас пробудилась, сокрыв мрак светом.
Юная женщина идет впереди, не стесняясь.
Она возвестила о солнце, жертве (и огне).
अश्वा॑वती॒र्गोम॑तीर्न उ॒षासो॑ वी॒रव॑ती॒: सद॑मुच्छन्तु भ॒द्राः । घृ॒तं दुहा॑ना वि॒श्वत॒: प्रपी॑ता यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभि॒: सदा॑ नः ॥
अश्व॑ऽवतीः । गोऽम॑तीः । नः॒ । उ॒षसः॑ । वी॒रऽव॑तीः । सद॑म् । उ॒च्छ॒न्तु॒ । भ॒द्राः । घृ॒तम् । दुहा॑नाः । वि॒श्वतः॑ । प्रऽपी॑ताः । यू॒यम् । पा॒त॒ । स्व॒स्तिऽभिः॑ । सदा॑ । नः॒ ॥
अश्वावतीः बहुभिरस्मभ्यं प्रदेयैरश्वैस्तद्वत्यः तथा गोमतीः गोमत्यो गोप्रदाः वीरवतीः वीरवत्यः पुत्रप्रदा अत एव भद्राः स्तुत्याः उषासः उषसः सदं सर्वदा उच्छन्तु। पुनः कीदृश्यः । घृतम् उदकं दुहानाः दोग्ध्र्यः विश्वतः प्रपीताः सर्वतः प्रवृद्धाः । यूयं पातेति गतम् ॥ ॥२७॥
“May the auspicious dawns ever break upon us redolen of horses, of cattle, of male posterity, sheddingmoisture, yielding everywhere abundance; and do you, (gods), ever cherish us with blessings.”
May blessed Mornings shine on us for ever, with wealth of kine, of horses, and of heroes,
Streaming with all abundance, pouring fatness. Preserve us evermore, ye Gods, with blessings.
Let the Dawns, accompanied by horses, by cows, by heroes, dawn always auspicious for us,
milking out ghee on all sides, teeming. – Do you protect us always with your blessings.
Stets mögen uns die Morgenröthen leuchten, die schönen, reich an Rossen, Rindern, Helden, Von Fette triefend, stets von Nahrung schwellend. Ihr Götter, schützt uns stets mit eurem Segen.
Rossereich, rinderreich, söhnereich, glückbringend mögen uns immerdar die Usas´ aufleuchten, allenthalben Schmalz als Milch gebend, strotzend.-Behütet uns immerdar mit eurem Segen!
Богатые конями, богатые коровами, богатые мужами,
Пусть всегда для нас зажигаются утренние зори, благодатные,
Доясь жиром, набухшие со всех сторон!
Защищайте вы нас всегда своими милостями!
