इन्द्रा॑वरुणा यु॒वम॑ध्व॒राय॑ नो वि॒शे जना॑य॒ महि॒ शर्म॑ यच्छतम् । दी॒र्घप्र॑यज्यु॒मति॒ यो व॑नु॒ष्यति॑ व॒यं ज॑येम॒ पृत॑नासु दू॒ढ्य॑: ॥
इन्द्रा॑वरुणा । यु॒वम् । अ॒ध्व॒राय॑ । नः॒ । वि॒शे । जना॑य । महि॑ । शर्म॑ । य॒च्छ॒त॒म् । दी॒र्घऽप्र॑यज्युम् । अति॑ । यः । व॒नु॒ष्यति॑ । व॒यम् । ज॒ये॒म॒ । पृत॑नासु । दुः॒ऽध्यः॑ ॥
हे इन्द्रावरुणा इन्द्रावरुणौ युवं युवां नः अस्माकं विशे निवेशयित्रे परिचारकाय जनाय पुत्रपौत्रादिलक्षणाय अध्वराय यज्ञानुष्ठानार्थं महि महत् शर्म गृहं सुखं वा यच्छतं प्रयच्छतम् । अपि च दीर्घप्रयज्युं दीर्घप्रततयज्ञमस्मदीयं जनं यः शत्रुः अति वनुष्यति अतिजिघांसति पृतनासु संग्रामेषु दूढ्यः दुर्धियो दुष्टाभिसंधींस्ताञ्छत्रून् वयं जयेम अभिभवेम ॥
“Indra and Varuṇa, bestow upon this man, our employer, a spacious chamber for (the celebration of) thesacrifice; and may we subdue in conflicts such evil-minded person ns as may seek to injure him who has been longengaged (in your adoration).”
GRANT us your strong protection, IndraVaruna, our people, and our family, for sacrifice.
May we subdue in fight our evil-hearted foes, him who attacks the man steadfast in lengthened rites.
O Indra and Varuṇa, extend great protection to our rite, to our clan and people.
In the contests might we conquer the one whose fore-offerings are long, who is overzealous—those of vile intent!
Gewährt, o Indra-Varuna, uns weiten Schutz dem Opferfeste, unserm Volk und unserm Haus; Im Kampfe lasst besiegen uns die Frevlerschar und jeden Feind des, der nach hohem Ziele strebt.
Indra und Varuna! Gewähret für unser Opfer dem Clan und Volke euren großen Schirm! Wer den im Opfer Anhaltenden zu überbieten sucht, all die Mißgünstigen wollen wir im Kampf besiegen.

Предоставьте вы великую защиту племени (и) народу!
(Того,) кто хочет из зависти превзойти далеко преуспевшего в жертвах (человека)
И (всех) злоумышленников пусть мы победим в сражениях!

स॒म्ऽराट् । अ॒न्यः । स्व॒ऽराट् । अ॒न्यः । उ॒च्य॒ते॒ । वा॒म् । म॒हान्तौ॑ । इन्द्रा॒वरु॑णा । म॒हाव॑सू॒ इति॑ म॒हाऽव॑सू । विश्वे॑ । दे॒वासः॑ । प॒र॒मे । विऽओ॑मनि । सम् । वा॒म् । ओजः॑ । वृ॒ष॒णा॒ । सम् । बल॑म् । द॒धुः॒ ॥
द्वितीयः पादः परोक्षकृतः शिष्टाः प्रत्यक्षकृताः । हे इन्द्रावरुणौ वां युवयोर्मध्ये अन्यः एको वरुणः सम्राट् सम्यग्राजमान इति उच्यते । ‘ता सम्राजा घृतासुती' (ऋ. सं. २, ४१. ६ ) इत्यादिषु कीर्त्यते । अन्यः इन्द्रः स्वराट् स्वयमेवान्यनिरपेक्षयैव राजमान इत्युच्यते । स्वराळिन्द्रो दमे ' (ऋ. सं. १. ६१. ९) इत्यादिषु कीर्त्यते । तथाविधौ इन्द्रावरुणा इन्द्रावरुणौ महान्तौ गुणैरधिकौ महावसू महाधनौ च भवतः । हे वृषणा कामानां वर्षिताराविन्द्रावरुणौ वां युवां परमे व्योमनि उत्कृष्टे आकाशे विश्वे देवासः सर्वे देवाः ओजः सं दधुः समयोजयन् शरीरदार्ढ्याय । तद्धेतुभूतं तदोज इत्युच्यते । स्मर्यते च - ‘ओजो नामाष्टमी दशा ' इति । तथा बलं वृत्रवधादेः कार्यस्य हेतुभूतं सामर्थ्यं च युवाभ्यां सं दधुः समयोजयन् ॥
“One of you it titled supreme monarch, so is the other; mighty and most opulent are you, Indra and all thegods in the highest heaven, showerers (of benefits), have combined your united strength, (your) maid vigouṛ”
O Indra-Varuna, mighty and very rich One of you is called Monarch and One Autocrat.
All Gods in the most lofty region of the air have, O ye Steers, combined all power and might in you.
One of you two is called a sovereign king [=Varuṇa]; the other an independent king [=Indra]. Indra and Varuṇa are both great, both
bearers of great goods.
All the gods in the furthest heaven have united power and strength in you two, o bulls.
Selbstherr heisst einer, und der andre Oberherr, und gross und reich ihr beide, Indra-Varuna; Die Götter alle in dem höchsten Himmelsraum verliehen euch, o Helden, Kraft und Allgewalt.
Allherr wird der eine, Selbstherr der andere von euch beiden genannt. Groß und reichbegütert sind Indra und Varuna. Alle Götter im höchsten Himmel haben auf euch, ihr Bullen, Stärke und Kraft vereinigt.
Вседержителем зовется один из вас, самодержцем - другой.

अनु॑ । अ॒पाम् । खानि॑ । अ॒तृ॒न्त॒म् । ओ॒ज॒सा । सूर्य॑म् । ऐ॒र॒य॒त॒म् । दि॒वि । प्र॒ऽभुम् । इन्द्रा॑वरुणा । मदे॑ । अ॒स्य॒ । मा॒यिनः॑ । अपि॑न्वतम् । अ॒पितः॑ । पिन्व॑तम् । धियः॑ ॥
हे इन्द्रावरुणौ अपाम् उदकानां खानि द्वाराणि वृत्रेण पिहितानि ओजसा बलेन अनु अतृन्तम् अन्वविध्यतम् । आवरकस्य वृत्रस्य वधेन वृष्टिप्रतिबन्धं निराकृतवन्तावित्यर्थः। तथा सूर्यं सर्वस्य प्रेरकमादित्यं दिवि अन्तरिक्षे प्रभुं प्रभूतं सन्तम् आ ऐरयतम् अभ्यगमयतम् । स्वर्भानुनावृतं सूर्यं तद्वधेन प्रकाशितवन्तावित्यर्थः । हे इन्द्रावरुणा इन्द्रावरुणौ मायिनः प्रज्ञाकरस्य अस्य सोमस्य पानेन मदे हर्षे सति अपितः जलरहिता नदीः अपिन्वतं जलेनापूरयतम् । तथा च निवित्पदमाम्नायते-- अस्य मदे जरितरिन्द्रोऽजिन्वदजुवोऽपिन्वदपितः' (शां. श्रौ. ८. २५. १) इति । अपि च धियः कर्माण्यस्माभिरनुष्ठितानि कर्माणि पिन्वतं सिञ्चतं फलेन पूरयतम् ॥
“Indra and Varuṇa, you have forced open by your strength the barriers of the waters; you haveestablished Sūrya as the lord in heaven; in the exhilaration of the inspiring (Soma) you have replenished the dry(beds of the rivers); do you also fulfil the objects of our sacred rite.”
Ye with your strength have pierced the fountains of the floods: the Sun have ye brought forward as the Lord in heaven.
Cheered by this magic draught ye, Indra-Varuna, made the dry places stream, made songs of praise flow forth.
You two drilled holes for the waters by your power, and you two raised the preeminent sun in heaven.
O Indra and Varuṇa, in the exhilaration of cunning (Soma) you made the depleted (waters) swell. Make our insights swell!
Der Wasser Bahnen habt mit Macht ihr aufgebohrt, die schöne Sonne an den Himmel hingesetzt, Im Zauberrausche lasst ihr, Indra-Varuna, versiegte Ströme schwellen und der Lieder Born.
Ihr öffnetet die Schleusen der Gewässer mit Kraft, ihr brachtet den Surya an den Himmel als das herrschende Gestirn. Indra und Varuna, im Rausche dieses zauberkräftigen Soma schwellet ihr die versiegten Flüsse an. Schwellet die frommen Gedanken an!

यु॒वाम् । इत् । यु॒त्ऽसु । पृत॑नासु । वह्न॑यः । यु॒वाम् । क्षेम॑स्य । प्र॒ऽस॒वे । मि॒तऽज्ञ॑वः । ई॒शा॒ना । वस्वः॑ । उ॒भय॑स्य । का॒रवः॑ । इन्द्रा॑वरुणा । सु॒ऽहवा॑ । ह॒वा॒म॒हे॒ ॥
हे इन्द्रावरुणौ वह्नयः हविषां स्तोत्राणां वा वोढार ऋत्विजः युत्सु युद्धेषु पृतनासु शत्रुसेनासु रक्षणार्थं युवामित् युवामेव हवन्ते आह्वयन्ति । मितज्ञवः संकुचितजानुका अङ्गिरसोऽपि क्षेमस्य रक्षणस्य प्रसवे उत्पादने निमित्तभूते सति युवाम् एव हवन्ते । अतः कारणात् हे इन्द्रावरुणौ कारवः स्तोतारो वयमपि उभयस्य दिव्यस्य पार्थिवस्य च वस्वः वसुनो धनस्य ईशाना ईश्वरौ सुहवा सुखेन ह्वातव्यौ युवामेव हवामहे आह्वयामहे ॥
“The bearers (of offerings) invoke you, Indra and Varuṇa, in wars, in battles; on banded knees (theAṅgirasas invoke you) for the begetting of prosperity; and we, your worshippers, invoke you, who are entitled torespectful homage, the lords of both celestial and terrestrial treasures.”
In battels and in frays we ministering priests, kneeling upon our knees for furtherance of our weal,
Invoke you, only you, the Lords of twofold wealth, you prompt to hear, we bards, O Indra-Varuna.
As chariot-drivers we call upon just you in conflicts and battles; (seated) with knees fixed, we call upon you at your instigation of peaceful
settlement;
we singers call upon you, easy to call, the masters of the good belonging to both (war and peace), o Indra and Varuṇa.
In Kampf und Schlachten rufen wir euch eilend an, wir unermüdlich wirkend in des Friedens Zeit; Die gern ihr hört und helft, o Indra-Varuna, und über Gut des Kriegs und Friedens Herren seid.
Euch rufen die Wagenlenker in den Kämpfen, in den Schlachten, euch rufen in der Tätigkeit des Friedens wir Dichter mit aufgestemmten Knieen, o Indra und Varuna, die ihr über das beiderseitige Gut gebietet, und euch gern rufen lasset.
Только вас двоих (призывают) возницы в битвах, в сражениях,
Вас – при побуждении к миру, (они,) твердо стоящие на коленях.
(Вас двоих,) повелевающих двоякого рода богатством, (мы,) певцы,
Призываем, О Индра-Варуна, как (тех), кого хорошо призывать.

हे इन्द्रावरुणौ यत् यौ युवां भुवनस्य लोकस्य संबन्धीनि इमानि परिदृश्यमानानि विश्वा सर्वाणि जातानि जनिमन्ति भूतजातानि मज्मना आत्मीयेन बलेन चक्रथुः कृतवन्तौ तयोर्युवयोर्मध्य एकं वरुणं क्षेमेण रक्षणहेतुना मित्रः देवः दुवस्यति परिचरति । मित्रावरुणौ हि परस्परं प्राप्तसख्यौ । अत एव सहचरौ दृश्येते। अन्यः एक इन्द्रः मरुद्भिः मरुद्गणैः उग्रः उद्गूर्णबलः सन् शुभं शोभनमलंकारम् ईयते प्राप्नोति । यद्वा । मरुद्भिर्मध्यस्थानैर्देवगणैः सार्धमुग्र ओजस्वीन्द्रः शुभमुदकमीयते प्रेरयति ॥ ॥ २ ॥
“Indra and Varuṇa, inasmuch as you have created by your might all these beings of the world, thereforeMitra worships Varuṇa for prosperity, while the other, the fierce Indra, associated with the Maruts, acquiresglory.”
O Indra-Varuna, as ye created all these creatures of the world by your surpassing might,
In peace and quiet Mitra waits on Varuna, the Other, awful, with the Maruis seeks renown.
O Indra and Varuṇa, since you two created all these beings of the living world by your greatness,
with peaceful settlement Mitra befriends Varuṇa; with the Maruts the other, powerful one [=Indra] speeds toward beauty.
Seitdem ihr die Geschöpfe alle dieser Welt geschaffen habt mit Macht, o Indra-Varuna, Verehrt der Freund den Varuna in Friedenszeit, der andre zieht als Held mit Maruts aus zum Kampf.
Indra und Varuna! Als ihr all diese Geschöpfe der Welt in ganzem Umfang erschaffen hattet, erweist Mitra durch Frieden dem Varuna die schuldige Ehre; der andere fährt als Mächtiger mit den Marut im Prunkzug.
О Индра-Варуна, когда вы двое создали
Все эти существа вселенной во (всю) мощь,
Митра миром воздает Варуне,
(А) другой, грозный едет с Марутами для блеска.

वरुणस्य । उपलक्षणमेतत् । इन्द्रस्य वरुणस्य च त्विषे दीप्त्यर्थम् ओजः बलं नु क्षिप्रं मिमाते स्तोत्रेण निर्मिमाते यजमानपत्न्यौ। स्तोत्रेण हि बलं जायते । किमर्थम् । महे महते शुल्काय धनाय । ईदृशस्य धनस्य लाभार्थम् । अस्य इन्द्रस्य वरुणस्य च ध्रुवं नित्यं स्वं स्वकीयमसाधारणं यत् ओजः विद्यते तदोजो मिमात इत्यन्वयः। तयोरिन्द्रावरुणयोः अन्यः एको वरुणः अजामिम् अबन्धुमस्तुवन्तं श्नथयन्तं हिंसन्तं कर्माण्यकुर्वन्तमस्तोतारमयजमानं च आतिरत् अभिहन्ति । अन्यः एक इन्द्रः दभ्रेभिः अल्पैरेवोपायैः भूयसः बहुतराञ्छत्रून् प्र वृणोति प्रकर्षेणावृतान् बाधितान् करोति । यद्वा । भूयसो यजमानान् प्र वृणोति प्रवरानुत्कृष्टान् करोति ॥
“In honour of (Indra and Varuṇa) the sacrificer and his wife for (the obtaining of) great wealth, confer (bytheir praises) that strength which is peculiar to each of them, and ever-enduring; one of them, (Varuṇa), destroysthe unfriendly man neglecting (his worship); the other, (Indra), with scanty (means), discomfits numerous(enemies).”
That Varuna's high worth may shine preeminent, these Twain have measured each his proper power and might.
The One subdueth the destructive enemy; the Other with a few furthereth many a man.
For the sake of (displaying) the great exchange-gift (of Indra?) and the vibrant might of Varuṇa, the two show the measure of enduring
power belonging to him [=to each one], which is his own:
the one [=Indra] overcomes the piercing (enemy) [=Vr̥tra?], who is no kin; with a few the other [=Varuṇa] wards off the greater.
Für hohen Lohn und für den Glanz des Varuna erweisen Kraft sie, welche diesem fest verbleibt; Der eine schlägt den nicht verwandten, der ihm trotzt, der andre wehrt mit wenig Männern viele ab.
Um einen hohen Preis, um den Machtglanz eben des Varuna, messen beide ihre Stärke, die dauernd diesem gehört. Während der eine dem mordenden Fremdling Einhalt tut, wehrt der andere mit Wenigen die Überzahl ab.

(Эти) двое меряют силу, что прочно ему присуща.
Один укротил чужого, несущего гибель;

न तमंहो॒ न दु॑रि॒तानि॒ मर्त्य॒मिन्द्रा॑वरुणा॒ न तप॒: कुत॑श्च॒न । यस्य॑ देवा॒ गच्छ॑थो वी॒थो अ॑ध्व॒रं न तं मर्त॑स्य नशते॒ परि॑ह्वृतिः ॥
न । तम् । अंहः॑ । न । दुः॒ऽइ॒तानि॑ । मर्त्य॑म् । इन्द्रा॑वरुणा । न । तपः॑ । कुतः॑ । च॒न । यस्य॑ । दे॒वा॒ । गच्छ॑थः । वी॒थः । अ॒ध्व॒रम् । न । तम् । मर्त॑स्य । न॒श॒ते॒ । परि॑ऽह्वृतिः ॥
हे इन्द्रावरुणा इन्द्रावरुणौ तं मर्त्यं मनुष्यम् अंहः पापं न नशते न व्याप्नोति । न च दुरितानि दुर्गमनानि पापफलानि च प्राप्नुवन्ति । कुतश्चन कस्मादपि निमित्तात् तपः संतापश्च तं न प्राप्नोति । हे देवा देवौ दानादिगुणयुक्ताविन्द्रावरुणौ यस्य मर्त्यस्य मनुष्यस्य अध्वरं यज्ञं गच्छथः प्राप्नुथो युवां वीथः कामयेथे च यस्य हवींषि तं मनुष्यं परिह्वृतिः परिबाधा न नशते उक्तप्रकारेण न व्याप्नोति ॥
“Sin contaminates not, difficulties assail not, nor distress at any time afflicts the mortal, Indra andVaruṇa, to whose sacrifices you, deities, go, and of which you approve; such a man ruin never destroyṣ”
No trouble, no misfortune, Indra-Varuna, no woe from any side assails the mortal man
Whose sacrifice, O Gods, ye visit and enjoy: ne'er doth the crafty guile of mortal injure him.
Narrow straits do not (come) upon the mortal, nor do difficulties, nor does burning heat from anywhere, o Indra and Varuṇa,
to whose rite you two come, o gods, (whose rite) you two pursue, nor does a mortal’s crookedness reach him.
Nicht Unglück, nicht Bedrängniss trifft den Sterblichen, noch naht ihm Leid von ferne, Indra-Varuna, Zu dessen Fest ihr Götter kommt und Opfer speist; des Feindes böse Hinterlist erreicht ihn nicht
Nicht kommen den Sterblichen Not noch Gefahren an, noch Pein von irgend einem, o Indra und Varuna, des Opfer ihr beiden Götter besuchet und begehret, noch kommt ihm der Fallstrick eines Sterblichen bei.
Ни нужда, ни опасности, ни мучение из-за чего-нибудь
(Не приходят) к смертному, о Индра-Варуна,
На чей обряд вы идете, о два бога, (и) охотно принимаете (его).
Не настигнет его и обман смертного.

अ॒र्वाक् । न॒रा॒ । दैव्ये॑न । अव॑सा । आ । ग॒त॒म् । शृ॒णु॒तम् । हव॑म् । यदि॑ । मे॒ । जुजो॑षथः । यु॒वोः । हि । स॒ख्यम् । उ॒त । वा॒ । यत् । आप्य॑म् । मा॒र्डी॒कम् । इ॒न्द्रा॒व॒रु॒णा॒ । नि । य॒च्छ॒त॒म् ॥
हे नरा नेताराविन्द्रावरुणौ दैव्येन देवसंबन्धिना अवसा रक्षणेन सह अर्वाक् अस्मदभिमुखम् आ गतम् आगच्छतम् । आगत्य च मदीयं हवं स्तोत्रं शृणुतम् । यदि मे मम जुजोषथः प्रीयेथे । मयि प्रीतिरस्ति चेत् युवाभ्यामागन्तव्यं मदीयं स्तोत्रं श्रोतव्यं च भवतीत्यर्थः । युवोर्हि युवयोः खलु यत् सख्यं सखित्वम् उत वा अपि च यत् आप्यम् अपित्वं बान्धवं मार्डीकं मृडीकस्य सुखस्य साधनं तदुभयं हे इन्द्रावरुणौ नि यच्छतम् अस्मभ्यं प्रयच्छतम् ॥
“Leaders of rites, come to our presence with divine protection; if you have any regard for me, hear myinvocation; verily your friendship, your affinity, is the source of happiness; grant them, Indra and Varuṇa (untous).”
With your divine protection, Heroes, come to us: mine invncation hear, if ye be pleased therewith.
Bestow ye upon us, O Indra-Varuna, your friendship and your kinship and your favouring grace.
Come near with your divine help, o you fine men! Listen to (this) call, if you will find pleasure in my (call).
Because there is companionship with you two or since there is friendship, extend compassion (to us), o Indra and Varuṇa.
Mit Götterhülfe kommt, o Männer, beide her; vernehmt den Ruf, wenn ihr an mir Gefallen habt; Mit euch ja bin befreundet ich und nah verwandt, o schenkt mir eure Gnade, Indra-Varuna.

अ॒स्माक॑मिन्द्रावरुणा॒ भरे॑भरे पुरोयो॒धा भ॑वतं कृष्ट्योजसा । यद्वां॒ हव॑न्त उ॒भये॒ अध॑ स्पृ॒धि नर॑स्तो॒कस्य॒ तन॑यस्य सा॒तिषु॑ ॥
अ॒स्माक॑म् । इ॒न्द्रा॒व॒रु॒णा॒ । भरे॑ऽभरे । पु॒रः॒ऽयो॒धा । भ॒व॒त॒म् । कृ॒ष्टि॒ऽओ॒ज॒सा॒ । यत् । वा॒म् । हव॑न्ते । उ॒भये॑ । अध॑ । स्पृ॒धि । नरः॑ । तो॒कस्य॑ । तन॑यस्य । सा॒तिषु॑ ॥
हे कृष्ट्योजसा शत्रूणां कर्षकमोजो बलं ययोस्तादृशौ हे इन्द्रावरुणौ भरेभरे संग्रामे संग्रामे अस्माकं पुरोयोधा पुरस्ताद्योद्धारौ भवतम् । यत् यौ वाम् युवाम् उभये उभयविधाः पूर्वकालीना इदानींतनाश्च नरः नेतारः स्तोतारः स्पृधि युद्धे यौ युवां हवन्ते । अध अपि च तोकस्य पुत्रस्य तनयस्य पौत्रस्य सातिषु संभजनीयेषु निमित्तभूतेषु च यौ युवां हवन्ते । तावस्माकं पुरोयोधा भवंतमित्यन्वयः ॥
“Indra and Varuṇa, of irresistible strength, be our preceders in every encounter, for both (past andpresent) worshippers invoke you to defend them iin war, or for the acquisition of sons and grandsons.”
In battle after battle, Indra-Varuna, be ye our Champions, ye who are the peoples' strength,
When both opposing bands invoke you for the fight, and men that they may gain offspring and progeny.
For us, o Indra and Varuṇa, be our vanguard in every contest, o you who have power over the peoples,
when in competition men of both sides then call upon you to win kith and kin.
In jedem Treffen seid, o Indra-Varuna, Vorkämpfer uns, die alle Völker ihr beherrscht, Wenn zu euch rufen beide Heere in der Schlacht, daheim die Männer, Kind und Enkel zu empfahn.
Seid in jedem Kampfe unsere Vorkämpfer, Indra und Varuna, in denen die Stärke der Völker liegt, gerade dann, wenn euch die beiderseitigen Mannen im Wettstreit anrufen, wenn es gilt, leiblichen Samen zu gewinnen.

अ॒स्मे इति॑ । इन्द्रः॑ । वरु॑णः । मि॒त्रः । अ॒र्य॒मा । द्यु॒म्नम् । य॒च्छ॒न्तु॒ । महि॑ । शर्म॑ । स॒ऽप्रथः॑ । अ॒व॒ध्रम् । ज्योतिः॑ । अदि॑तेः । ऋ॒त॒ऽवृधः॑ । दे॒वस्य॑ । श्लोक॑म् । स॒वि॒तुः । म॒ना॒म॒हे॒ ॥
अस्मे अस्मभ्यमिन्द्रादयः द्युम्नं द्योतमानं धनं यच्छन्तु प्रयच्छन्तु । तथा महि महत् सप्रथः सर्वतः पृथु विस्तीर्णं शर्म गृहं च प्रयच्छन्तु । अपि च ऋतावृधः ऋतस्य यज्ञस्य वर्धयित्र्याः अदितेः अदीनाया देवमातुः ज्योतिः तेजश्च नोऽस्माकम् अवध्रम् अहिंसकमस्तु । वयं च देवस्य दानादिगुणयुक्तस्य सवितुः सर्वस्य प्रेरकस्य श्लोकं स्तोत्रं मनामहे जानीमः । कुर्म इत्यर्थः। यद्वा । देवेन सवित्रास्मभ्यं देयं श्लोकं यशो मनामहे याचामहे ॥ ॥ ३ ॥
“May Indra, Varuṇa, Mitra and Aryaman grant us wealth and a large and spacious habitation; may thelustre of Aditi, the augmentress of sacrifice, be innoxious to us; we recite the praise of the divine Savitā.”
May Indra, Varuna, Mitra, and Aryaman vouchsafe us glory and great shelter spreading far.
We think of the beneficent light of Aditi, and Savitar's song of praise, the God who strengthens Law.
Let Indra, Varuṇa, Mitra, and Aryaman extend to us their brilliance, their great, widespread protection,
and the unassailable light of Aditi—they who grow strong through the truth. We will keep in mind the signal call of the god Savitar.
Uns mögen Mitra, Varuna und Arjaman, uns Indra Glanz verleihn und grossen weiten Schutz; Wohlthät'ges Licht der Aditi, der heiligen, und Savitar's des Gottes Zuruf wünschen wir.
Uns sollen Indra, Varuna, Mitra, Aryaman Glanz und ihren großen Schirm in ganzer Breite gewähren, die Wahrheitsmehrer der Aditi unzerstörbares Licht! Wir gedenken des Mahnrufs des Gottes Savitri.
