इन्द्र॒मच्छ॑ सु॒ता इ॒मे वृष॑णं यन्तु॒ हर॑यः । श्रु॒ष्टी जा॒तास॒ इन्द॑वः स्व॒र्विद॑: ॥
इन्द्र॑म् । अच्छ॑ । सु॒ताः । इ॒मे । वृष॑णम् । य॒न्तु॒ । हर॑यः । श्रु॒ष्टी । जा॒तासः॑ । इन्द॑वः । स्वः॒ऽविदः॑ ॥
श्रुष्टी । श्रुष्टीति क्षिप्रनाम । क्षिप्रं जातासः जाताः इन्दवः पात्रेषु क्षरन्तः स्वर्विदः। सर्वज्ञाः हरयः हरितवर्णाः सुताः अभिषुताः इमे सोमाः वृषणं कामानां सेक्तारम् इन्द्रमच्छ यन्तु अभिगच्छन्तु ॥
“May these effused green-tinted Soma juices quickly genitive rated, all-knowing, proceed to Indra the showerer (of benefits).”
To Indra, to the Mighty Steer, may these gold-coloured juices go,
Drops rapidly produced, that find the light of heaven.
Let these pressed (soma drinks) go to Indra, the tawny ones to the bull, the drops born because of (Indra’s?) attentive hearing, finding the sun.
Zum Stiere Indra mögen hier die goldigen, gepressten gehn, Die Indutränke, Glanz gewinnend, rasch erzeugt.
Zu Indra, dem Bullen, sollen diese ausgepreßten Falben gehen, die Säfte, willig geboren, das Himmelslicht findend!

भराय संग्रामाय तदर्थं सानसिः भजनीयः सुतः अभिषुतः अयं सोमः इन्द्राय इन्द्रार्थं पवते ग्रहादिषु क्षरति । ततः सोमः जैत्रस्य ॥ ‘ क्रियाग्रहणं कर्तव्यम्' इति कर्मणः संप्रदानसंज्ञा । ‘ चतुर्थ्यर्थे बहुलम् ' इति षष्ठी ॥ जयशीलमिन्द्रं चेतति जानाति । यथा इन्द्रः विदे लोकैर्ज्ञायते तथा जानाति ॥
“This effused Soma adorable for battle, is filtered for Indra; Soma thinks of the victorious (Indra) as he is known (in the world).”
Effused, this juice victorious flows for Indra, for his maintenance.
Soma bethinks him of the Conqueror, as he knows.
This one here, bringing gain for the taking, purifies himself for Indra when pressed.
Soma takes note of the victorious one, as is (well) known.
Dem Indra rieselt zum Genuss der segensreiche Trank herbei, Und Soma hat des Siegers Acht nach seiner Art.
Dieser ausgepreßte Soma läutert sich für Indra, der einträgliche, daß er aufgetragen werde, den Gewinn einbringe. Soma versteht sich auf den Sieg, wofür er bekannt ist.
Этот захватчик, выжатый сок
Очищается для добычи, для Индры.
Сома разбирается в победе, как она происходит.
अ॒स्येदिन्द्रो॒ मदे॒ष्वा ग्रा॒भं गृ॑भ्णीत सान॒सिम् । वज्रं॑ च॒ वृष॑णं भर॒त्सम॑प्सु॒जित् ॥
अ॒स्य । इत् । इन्द्रः॑ । मदे॑षु । आ । ग्रा॒भम् । गृ॒भ्णी॒त॒ । सा॒न॒सिम् । वज्र॑म् । च॒ । वृष॑णम् । भ॒र॒त् । सम् । अ॒प्सु॒ऽजित् ॥
आ अनन्तरम् इन्द्रः अस्येत् अस्य सोमस्यैव मदेषु संजातेषु सानसिं सर्वैः संभजनीयं ग्राभं ग्राहं ग्रहीतव्यं धनुः गृभ्णीत गृह्णाति । ‘ हृग्रहोर्भः° ' इति भत्वम् । किंच अप्सुजित् उदकार्थं वृत्रस्य जेता । यद्वा आप इत्यन्तरिक्षनाम । अन्तरिक्षेऽहिनामकस्य जेता। इन्द्रः वृषणं वर्षितारं वज्रं च सं भरत् संबिभर्तु । बिभर्तेर्लेट्यडागमः ॥
“In the Soma's exhilaration may Indra seize hold of wealth to be enjoyed (by all) and conquering Vṛtra in the waters may he wield the thunderbolt the showerer (of blessings).”
May Indra in his raptures gain from him the grasp that gathers spoil,
And, winning waters, wield the steerstrong thunderbolt.
Indra, in the raptures of just this (soma), grabbed a handful
bringing gain,
and he carried the bullish mace—he who is entirely victorious in the waters.
Es thue nun von ihm berauscht, Indra den segensreichen Griff, Und trage, siegreich im Gewölk, den starken Blitz.
In seinem Rausche möge Indra den einträglichen Griff tun, und er trage die bullengleiche Keule, aller Gewässer Ersieger.
В опьянениях им Индра
Пусть возьмет взятку, обеспечивающую захват,
И пусть держит мужественную ваджру, (этот) победитель вод.

हे सोम जागृविः जागरणशीलस्त्वं प्र धन्व प्रक्षर । हे इन्दो सोम इन्द्राय परि स्रव परितः पात्रेषु क्षर । किंच द्युमन्तं दीप्तियुक्तं स्वर्विदं सर्वस्य लम्भकं शुष्मं शत्रूणां शोषकं बलम् आ भर आहर ॥
“Flow Soma who are vigilant; Indu spread around for Indra; bring brilliant overpowering all-obtaining (strength).”
Flow vigilant for Indra, thou Soma, yea, Indu, run thou on:
Bring hither splendid strength that finds the light of heaven.
Run forth as the wakeful one, o Soma; flow around for Indra, o drop. Bring here brilliant tempestuous force that finds the sun.

O Soma laufe munter vor, zum Indra, Indu, ströme durch; Bring hohe Stärke uns herbei, die Glanz verschafft.
Rinne, o Soma, wachsam weiter; für Indra laufe ringsum ab, o Saft! Bring glänzenden Mut, der das Himmelslicht verschafft!

Для Индры, о капля, растекайся вокруг!

हे सोम त्वं वृषणं वर्षितारं मदं मदहेतुं रसम् इन्द्राय इन्द्रार्थं पवस्व क्षर । कीदृशः। विश्वदर्शतः सर्वैर्दर्शनीयः सहस्रयामा बहुमार्गः पथिकृत् यजमानानां सन्मार्गकरणशीलः विचक्षणः सर्वस्य विद्रष्टा ॥ ॥ ९ ॥
“Pour forth for Indra the exhilarating (juice) showering (benefits), you who are very beautiful, who have many paths, the finder of the (right) path, the observer (of all).”
Do thou, all-beautiful, purify for Indra's sake the mighty juice,
Path-maker thou, far seeing, with a thousand ways.
For Indra purify yourself into bullish exhilaration, as the one visible to all,
possessing a thousand courses, path-making, wide-gazing.

Dem Indra riesle starken Rausch herbei, du allbewunderter, Auf tausend Wegen Bahnen schaffend, Weiser, dir.
Für Indra läutere den bullenartigen Rauschtrank, allsichtbar, auf tausend Bahnen als weitschauender Wegbereiter!

Пьянящий напиток, (ты) для всех приятный на вид,

हे सोम अस्मभ्यं गातुवित्तमः अत्यन्तं मार्गस्य लम्भकः तथा देवेभ्यः च मधुमत्तमः अत्यन्तं स्वादुकारी त्वं कनिक्रदत् शब्दं कुर्वन् सहस्रं पथिभिः बहुभिर्मार्गैः याहि कलशमागच्छ ॥
“You who are the best finder of paths for us, the sweet beverage for the gods, come by a thousand paths crying aloud.”
Best finder of prosperity for us, most rich in sweets for Gods,
Proceed thou loudly roaring on a thousand paths.
The best finder of the way for us, most honeyed for the gods,
drive along your thousand paths, ever roaring.

Der du uns freiste Bahn verschaffst, und schönsten Meth der Götterschar, Auf tausend Pfaden eile wiehernd du herbei.
Für uns der beste Pfadfinder, für die Götter am süßesten, geh brüllend auf tausend Wegen!

Самый богатый медом для богов,

हे इन्दो सोम देववीतये देवानां भक्षणाय ओजसा बलेन धाराभिः आत्मीयाभिः पवस्व क्षर । हे सोम मधुमान् मदकररसवांस्त्वं नः अस्मदीयं कलशं द्रोणाभिधानम् ॥ आ सदः । सदेर्लुङि रूपम् । आसीद ॥
“Flow, Indu, in your strength with your streams for the banquet of the gods; sit down, Soma, who are sweet-flavoured, in our pitcher.”
O Indu, with thy streams, in might, flow for the banquet of the Gods:
Rich in meath, Soma, in our beaker take thy place.
Purify yourself in streams, o drop, to pursue the gods with strength. Honeyed, sit in our tub, o Soma.
O Indu, riesle hell mit Kraft in Strömen hin zum Göttermahl, In unsern Becher, Soma, setz dich honigsüss.
Läutere dich zur Götterladung, o Saft, mächtig in Strömen; setze dich versüßt in unseren Krug, o Soma!
Очищайся для приглашения богов,

उदप्रुतः वसतीवर्याख्यमुदकं प्रति गच्छन्तः । यद्वा । उदकस्य निर्गमयितारः। तव स्वभूताः द्रप्साः द्रुतगामिनो रसाः मदाय मदार्थम् इन्द्रं वावृधुः वर्धयन्ति । ततः देवासः देवा इन्द्रादयः कं सुखकरं त्वाम् अमृताय अमरणार्थं 'पपुः पिबन्ति ॥
“Your drops, goint to the water, have exalted Indra to exhilaration; the gods have quaffed you, the delighter, for immortality.”
Thy drops that swim in water have exalted Indra to delight:
The Gods have drunk thee up for immortality.
Your droplets, swimming in water, have strengthened Indra for
exhilaration.
The gods have drunk you for immortality

Die Tropfen dein, von Flut umspült, den Indra stärken sie zum Rausch; Zur ew'gen Dauer haben Götter dich geschlürft.
Deine im Wasser schwimmenden Tropfen haben den Indra zum Rausche gestärkt; dich haben die Götter zur Unsterblichkeit getrunken.
Твои капли, плавающие в воде,
Усилили Индру для опьянения.
Боги испили тебя для бессмертия.

हे सुतासः अभिषूयमाणा हे इन्दवः दीप्ताः पात्रेषु क्षरन्तो वा हे रीत्यापः यैः पृथिवीं प्रति स्रवणशीला आपः कृताः तादृशा हे सोमाः पुनानाः पूयमाना यूयं नः अस्मभ्यं रयिम् आ धावत आगमयत । कीदृशाः । वृष्टिद्यावः । वृष्टिमभि द्यौर्यैः क्रियते । वृष्ट्यभिमुखद्युलोकवन्तः स्वर्विदः सर्वस्य लम्भकाः ॥
“Bring us wealth, bright Soma juices effused, filtered, filling the sky with rain, shedding water (upon the earth) acquiring all things.”
Stream opulence to us, ye drops of Soma, pressed and purified,
Pouring down rain from heaven in hoods, and finding light.
O you pressed drops, run wealth to us here while being purified,
bringing the heavens to rain and the waters to streaming, finding
the sun.
O strömt, gepresste Tropfen ihr, uns Reichthum zu, ihr flammenden, Lasst Himmel regnen, Wasser strömen, Glanz erstehn.
Ihr ausgepreßten Säfte, strömet uns Reichtum zu, wann ihr euch läutert; ihr lasset den Himmel regnen, die Gewässer strömen, ihr seid Sonnenfinder!
О выжатые соки сомы, очищаясь,
В (своем) беге принесите нам богатство,
(Вы,) вызывающие дождь с неба, изливающие воды, находящие солнце!

पुनानः पूयमानः सोमः ऊर्मिणा स्वीयया धारया अव्यः अवेः वारं वालं पवित्रं वि धावति विविधं गच्छति । कीदृशः सोमः । पवमानः पूतः वाचः स्तोत्रस्य अग्रे कनिक्रदत् पुनःपुनः शब्दं कुर्वन् वि धावति ॥ ॥ १० ॥
“Some being filtered flows in a stream through the woollen fleece, crying aloud when filtered in advance of the voice (of praise).”
Soma, while filtered, with his wave flows through the long wool of the sheep,
Shouting while purified before the voice of song.
Soma, being purified in a wave, runs across the fleece of the sheep, at the forefront of speech, self-purifying, ever roaring.

Hell rieselnd strömt der Somatrank in Wellen durch des Widders Haar, Voran dem Liede wiehert er, der flammende.
Soma läuft sich läuternd, wogend durch das Schafhaar, brüllend der Rede voran, der Pavamana.

Бежит сквозь сито из овечьей шерсти.
Павамана, громко ревущий во главе речи.
धी॒भिर्हि॑न्वन्ति वा॒जिनं॒ वने॒ क्रीळ॑न्त॒मत्य॑विम् । अ॒भि त्रि॑पृ॒ष्ठं म॒तय॒: सम॑स्वरन् ॥
धी॒भिः । हि॒न्व॒न्ति॒ । वा॒जिन॑म् । वने॑ । क्रीळ॑न्तम् । अति॑ऽअविम् । अ॒भि । त्रि॒ऽपृ॒ष्ठम् । म॒तयः॑ । सम् । अ॒स्व॒र॒न् ॥
वाजिनं बलवन्तं वने वननीये वसतीवर्याख्य उदके क्रीळन्तं संक्रीडमानम् अत्यविम् । अविशब्देन तद्रोमकृतं पवित्रमभिधीयते । अतिक्रान्तपवित्रं सोममृत्विजः धीभिः स्तुतिभिः हिन्वन्ति वर्धयन्ति । यद्वा । धीभिः । वर्णलोपश्छान्दसः। धीतिभिरङ्गुलीभिर्हिन्वन्ति प्रेरयन्ति । ‘ हि गतौ वृद्धौ च ' स्वादिः। किंच त्रिपृष्ठम् । त्रीणि पवित्राणि द्रोणकलशाधवनीय पूतभृदाख्यानि पात्राणि स्पृशतीति त्रीणि सवनानि वा स्पृशतीति स तथोक्तः । तं सोमं मतयः स्तुतयः अभि समस्वरन् अभितः संस्तुवन्ति ॥
“They send forth with their fingers the powerful Soma sporting in the water, passing through the fleece; praises celebrate him abiding in the three receptacles.”
With songs they send the Mighty forth, sporting in wood, above the fleece:
Our psalms have glorified him of the triple height.
With insights they impel the prizewinner, playing in the wood, across the sheep [=fleece].
The thoughts sound together toward the three-backed one.

Mit Andacht spornen sie das Ross, das durch das Sieb zur Kufe springt; Der dreifach trägt, ihm rauschten jetzt Gebete zu.
Mit Gebeten treiben sie den Preisrenner an, der im Holze sich tummelt, durch die Schafwolle geht. Dem Dreirückigen schallten die Lieder im Chor entgegen.
Молитвами они поторапливают захватчика награды,
Резвящегося в деревянном (сосуде), (спешащего) через овечью шерсть.
Молитвы зазвучали вместе навстречу трехспинному.

वाजयुः यजमानानामन्नमिच्छन् स सोमः कलशान् अभिलक्ष्य कलशेषु असर्जि सृज्यते । तत्र दृष्टान्तः । सप्तिर्न यथाश्वः मीळ्हे। संग्रामनामैतत् । संग्रामे सृज्यते तद्वत्। ततः पुनानः पूयमानः सोमः वाचं शब्दं जनयन् उत्पादयन् असिष्यदत् पात्रेषु स्यन्दते ॥
“Desiring (to give the worshipper) food he has been let loose into the pitchers like a charger in battle; being filtered, raising a cry he flows (into the vessels).”
Into the jars hath he been loosed, like an impetuous steed for war,
And lifting up his voice, while filtered, glided on.
He has been sent surging toward the tubs, like a prize-seeking team at a competition.
Being purified, begetting speech, he has flowed.

Entsandt ist zu den Bechern er, ein Ross, das Preis im Kampf erstrebt, Und Sang erzeugend strömte jetzt er rieselnd hin.
Er ist auf die Krüge losgesprengt um den Preis wie ein wettlaufendes Gespann; sich läuternd, die Rede hervorbringend, ist er gelaufen.

Словно упряжка, стремящаяся к награде на состязании.
Он потек, очищаясь, порождая речь.
पव॑ते हर्य॒तो हरि॒रति॒ ह्वरां॑सि॒ रंह्या॑ । अ॒भ्यर्ष॑न्त्स्तो॒तृभ्यो॑ वी॒रव॒द्यश॑: ॥
पव॑ते । ह॒र्य॒तः । हरिः॑ । अति॑ । ह्वरां॑सि । रंह्या॑ । अ॒भि॒ऽअर्ष॑न् । स्तो॒तृऽभ्यः॑ । वी॒रऽव॑त् । यशः॑ ॥
हर्यतः स्पृहणीयः हरिः हरितवर्णः सोमः रंह्या । तृतीयाया आकारः । साधुवेगेन ह्वरांसि कुटिलान्यनृजूनि पवित्राणि अति पवते अतीत्य गच्छति । किं कुर्वन् । स्तोतृभ्यो वीरवत् पुत्रयुक्तं यशः अभ्यर्षन् अभिगमयन् पवते ॥
“The delightful green-tinted (juice) flows with rapidity into the crooked (pitchers); bringing the worshippers, food and male offspring.”
Gold-hued and lovely in his course, througb tangles of the wool he flows,
And pours heroic fame upon the worshippers.
The delightful fallow bay purifies himself, across the tufts, at speed, streaming glory consisting of heroes to the praisers.
Der holde, goldne rieselt hell in Eile durch das wollne Netz, Hin zu den Sängern strömt er heldenreichen Glanz.
Der begehrte Falbe läutert sich in eiligem Lauf über die Hindernisse, den Sängern zu söhnereicher Ehre abfließend.
Он очищается, желанный буланый,
В быстром беге через препятствия,
Струя восхвалителям блеск, состоящий из мужей.
अ॒या प॑वस्व देव॒युर्मधो॒र्धारा॑ असृक्षत । रेभ॑न्प॒वित्रं॒ पर्ये॑षि वि॒श्वत॑: ॥
अ॒या । प॒व॒स्व॒ । दे॒व॒ऽयुः । मधोः॑ । धाराः॑ । अ॒सृ॒क्ष॒त॒ । रेभ॑न् । प॒वित्र॑म् । परि॑ । ए॒षि॒ । वि॒श्वतः॑ ॥
हे सोम देवयुः देवान् कामयमानस्त्वम् अया अनया धारया पवस्व क्षर । ततः मधोः मदकरस्य तव धाराः आत्मीयाः असृक्षत सृज्यन्ते । अनन्तरं रेभन् शब्दायमानः पवित्रं विश्वतः पर्येषि सर्वतः परिगच्छसि ॥ ॥ ११ ॥
“Devoted to the gods flow with that (stream); (your) streams of exhilarating beverage are let loose; with a roar you pass through the filter in all directions.”
Flow thus, a faithful votary: the streams of meath have been effused.
Thou comest to the filter, singing, from each side.
In this way purify yourself, seeking the gods. The streams of honey have been sent surging.
Rasping, circle around the filter on all sides.
