श॒र्य॒णाव॑ति॒ सोम॒मिन्द्र॑: पिबतु वृत्र॒हा । बलं॒ दधा॑न आ॒त्मनि॑ करि॒ष्यन्वी॒र्यं॑ म॒हदिन्द्रा॑येन्दो॒ परि॑ स्रव ॥
श॒र्य॒णाऽव॑ति । सोम॑म् । इन्द्रः॑ । पि॒ब॒तु॒ । वृ॒त्र॒ऽहा । बल॑म् । दधा॑नः । आ॒त्मनि॑ । क॒रि॒ष्यन् । वी॒र्य॑म् । म॒हत् । इन्द्रा॑य । इ॒न्दो॒ इति॑ । परि॑ । स्र॒व॒ ॥
शर्यणावति । शर्यणावन्नाम कुरुक्षेत्रस्य जघनार्धे सरः । तत्र स्थितं सोमं वृत्रहा इन्द्रः पिबतु । कीदृशः । आत्मनि बलं दधानः बलं निदधानः अत एव महत् वीर्यं करिष्यन् शत्रून् प्रति । तस्मात् इन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव ॥
“Let Indra, the slayer of Vṛtra, quaff the Soma on the Śaryaṇāvat, infusing strength into himself, about to show great prowess; flow, Indu, for Indra.”
LET Vrtra-slaying Indra drink Soma by Saryanavan's side,
Storing up vigour in his heart, prepared to do heroic deeds. Flow, Indu, flow for Indra's sake.
Let Indra, Vr̥tra-smasher, drink the soma in the reed-filled (place), placing strength in himself as he is about to perform a great heroic deed. – O drop, flow around for Indra.
Es trinke Soma aus dem Fass der Feindetödter Indra jetzt, Sich schaffend Kraft zum grossen Werk, das er nun auszuführen strebt; dem Indra ström', o Indu, zu.
Den Soma in Saryanavat soll Indra, der Vritratöter, trinken, sich Kraft zulegend, wenn er eine große Heldentat vollbringen will. Fließe für Indra ringsum ab, o Saft!

हे दिशां पते प्राच्यादीनां दिशां प्रकाशकत्वेन स्वामिन् हे मीढ्वः कामानां सेक्तर्हे सोम आर्जीकात् । ऋजीकानामदूरभव आर्जीको जनपदः । तस्मात् आ पवस्व अस्मद्यज्ञं प्रत्यागच्छ । यद्वा । आर्जीकादृजोरकुटिलात् पवित्रात् क्षर। कीदृशः । ऋतवाकेन ऋतस्य वचनेन सत्येन । सत्यर्तयोरल्पो भेदो द्रष्टव्यः । श्रद्धया तपसा युक्तैर्दीक्षितैः सुतः अभिषुतस्त्वं पवस्व ॥
“Soma, lord of the four regions, sprinkler (of benefits) flow from Ārjikā effused by a truth-speaking truthful (man) with faith and devotion; flow, Indu, for Indra.”
Lord of the Quarters, flow thou on, boon Soma, from Arjika land,
Effused with ardour and with faith, and the true hymn of sacrifice. Flow, Indu, flow for Indra's sake.
Purify yourself, o master of the directions, o munificent Soma, from the foamy (place).
With real words of truth, with trust, and with fervor are you pressed. – O drop, flow around for Indra.
Hell riesle her, du Länderfürst, o Soma, huldreich aus dem Fass, Mit wahrem, frommem Spruch gepresst mit Glauben und mit ernstem Sinn; dem Indra ström', o Indu, zu.
Läutere dich, Herr der Weltpole, du belohnender Soma aus Arjika! Unter aufrichtiger Rede, mit Wahrhaftigkeit, mit Glauben und Inbrunst ausgepreßt, fließe für Indra ringsum ab, o Saft!

सूर्यस्य दुहिता श्रद्धा नाम । ‘श्रद्धा वै सूर्यस्य दुहिता' (श. ब्रा. १२. ७. ३. ११) इति वाजसनेयकम्। सा पर्जन्यवृद्धं पर्जन्यवत् समर्थम् । यद्वा । पर्जन्येन तत्कार्यत्वेनोदकेन प्रवृद्धम्। महिषं महान्तं पूज्यं वा तं सोमम् आभरत् आहरत्। द्युलोकादाहृतवती । तम् आहियमाणं सोमं गन्धर्वाः विश्वावसुप्रभृतयः प्रत्यगृभ्णन् प्रत्यगृह्णन् । प्रतिगृहीतवन्तः। दृग्रहोर्भः । ततो गन्धर्वाः प्रतिगृहीतं रसं सोमे प्रत्यक्षम् आदधुः । दधातेर्लङि । तस्मात् परि स्रव ॥ ।
“The daughter of Sūrya brought the vast Soma large as a rain-cloud; the gandharva seized upon it and plural ced the juice in the Soma; flow, Indu, for Indra.”
Hither hath Surya's Daughter brought the wild Steer whom Parjanya nursed.
Gandharvas have seized bold of him, and in the Soma laid the juice. Flow, Indu, flow for Indra's sake.
The buffalo grown strong through Parjanya [=thunder]—him [=rain] the Daughter of the Sun brought,
him the Gandharvas received, him they placed as the juice in the soma. – O drop, flow around for Indra.
Den Büffel, den die Wolke nährt, ihn trug der Sonne Tochter her, Gandharven haben ihn erfasst, zum Soma fügten sie den Saft; dem Indra ström', o Indu, zu.
Den von Parjanya großgezogenen Büffel brachte die Tochter des Surya mit. Ihn nahmen die Gandharven in Empfang; sie legten diesen Saft in den Soma. Fließe für Indra ringsum ab, o Saft!

हे ऋतद्युम्न ऋतेन द्योतमान सत्ययशस्क वा सत्यकर्मन् यथार्थकर्मन् हे सोम अभिषूयमाण राजन् सर्वेषां यज्ञनिष्पादकत्वेन स्वामिन् हे सोम ऋतं यज्ञं वदन् सत्यं वदन् उच्चारयन् श्रद्धां यजमानानामात्मनोपेक्षितां वदन् धात्रा कर्मणां धारकेण देवानां पोषकेण वा यजमानेन परिष्कृतः अलंकृतस्त्वम् इन्द्राय परि स्रव । ‘संपर्युपेभ्यः' इति भूषणार्थे करोतेः सुट् ॥
“Soma, the utterer of truth, radiant with truth, truth-speaking, truthful in act, speaking faith; lord (of worshippers), you are decorated by the upholder (of the rite); flow, Indu for Indra.”
Splendid by Law! declaring Law, truthspeaking, truthful in thy works,
Enouncing faith, King Soma! thou, O Soma, whom thy maker decks. Flow, Indu, flow for Indra's sake.
Speaking the truth, you whose brilliance is the truth, speaking what is real, you whose actions are real,
speaking your trust, King Soma, you are prepared by the Placer, o Soma. – O drop, flow around for Indra.
Recht sprechend, du des Rechtes Freund, und Wahrheit du, der Wahrheit übt, Und Glauben, König Soma du, so bist vom Schöpfer du begabt; dem Indra ström', o Indu, zu.
Recht redend, du Rechtglänzender, wahr redend, du Wahrhandelnder, Gläubigkeit redend, o König Soma, vom Verrichter zurechtgemacht, o Soma, fließe für Indra ringsum ab, o Saft!

सत्यमुग्रस्य संग्रामे सत्येन शत्रूणामुद्गारयितुः । यद्वा उद्गूर्णसत्यस्य । यद्वा । यथार्थभूतमुद्गूर्णं बलं यस्य तस्य । पृषोदरादित्वाद्रूपसिद्धिः। बृहतः महतः सोमस्य तव संस्रवाः सम्यक्स्रवणशीला' धाराः सं स्रवन्ति सम्यक् गच्छन्ति । किंच रसिनः रसवतस्तव स्वभूताः रसाः सं यन्ति संगच्छन्ते । तस्माद्धे हरे हरितवर्ण सोम ब्रह्मणा ब्राह्मणेन मन्त्रेण वा पुनानः पूयमानः स त्वमिन्द्रार्थं परि स्रव ॥ ॥ २६ ॥
“The united streams of you who are vast and truly formidable flow united; the juices of you the juicy one meet together; green-tinted (Soma), purified by holy prayer, Indu, flow for Indra.”
Together flow the meeting streams of him the Great and truly Strong.
The juices of the juicy meet. Made pure by prayer, O Golden-hued, flow, Indu, flow for Indra's sake.
Of (you) who are lofty and really strong the joint streams stream jointly. The juices of (you) who are rich in juice join together as (you) are being purified by the sacred formulation, tawny one.

Zusammen strömt der Ströme Flut des hohen, wahrhaft kräftigen, Des saft'gen Säfte dringen ein, du goldner, durch Gebet geklärt; dem Indra ström', o Indu, zu.
Es laufen zusammen die Reste des wahrhaft Gewaltigen, Hohen; es kommen die Säfte des Saftigen zusammen. Unter feierlicher Rede geläutert, o Falber, fließe für Indra ringsum ab, o Saft!

हे पवमान पूयमान सोम त्वदर्थं छन्दस्यां सप्तच्छन्दोभिः कृतां तेषु भवां वाचं स्तुतिं वदन् उच्चारयन् सोमे सोमाभिषवार्थं ग्राव्णा अभिषवं कुर्वता युक्तस्तेनाभिषुतेन सोमेन देवानाम् आनन्दं संतोषं जनयन् उत्पादयन् ब्रह्मा ब्राह्मणः यत्र यस्मिन् देशे महीयते देवैः पूज्यते तत्र हे सोम स्वं परि स्रव ॥
“Wherever the Brahman, O purified (Soma), reciting the holy rhythmical text, engendering the delight (of the gods) by the Soma (expressed) with the grinding-stone, is reverenced, flow, Indu, for Indra.”
O Pavamana, where the priest, as he recites the rhythmic prayer,
Lords it o'er Soma with the stone, with Soma bringing forth delight, flow, Indu, flow for Indra's sake.
Where, o self-purifying one, the formulator, speaking metrical speech along with the pressing stone, makes himself great on soma, generating joy with soma—
– O drop, flow around for Indra.
Wo, rieselnder! der Beter dir die schöngemessnen Worte spricht, Beim Soma mit dem Stein sich regt, durch Soma zeugend hohe Lust, da ström' dem Indra, Indu, zu.
Wo, o Pavamana, der Hohepriester in gebundener Rede sprechend mit dem Preßstein in der Hand bei Soma sich erhaben fühlt, durch den Soma Wonne wirkend, da fließe für Indra ringsum ab, o Saft!
Где брахман, о Павамана,
Ведя метрическую речь,
С давильным камнем ( в руке) чувствует себя великим у сомы,

हे पवमान यत्र यस्मिल्ँलोके ज्योतिः सर्वं तेजः अजस्रं सर्वदाविनश्वरं वर्तते । यस्मिन् च लोके स्वः आदित्याख्यं ज्योतिः हितं निहितमस्ति । तस्मिन् अमृते मरणधर्मरहिते अत एव अक्षिते अक्षीणे लोके मां सोमाभिषवं कुर्वन्तं धेहि निधेहि । तस्मात् मामुत्तमलोकं प्रापयितुं त्वम् इन्द्राय पंरि स्रव ॥
“Where light is perpetual, in the world in which the sun is plural ced, in that immortal imperishable world plural ce me, Pavamāna; flow, Indu, for Indra.”
O Pavarnana, place me in that deathless, undecaying world
Wherein the light of heaven is set, and everlasting lustre shines. Flow, Indu, flow for Indra's sake.
Where the inexhaustible light is, in which world the sun is placed,
in that one place me, o self-purifying one, in the immortal,
imperishable world.

Wo unauslöschlich Licht erglänzt, wo Himmelsglanz entzündet ist, An den Ort bring mich, flammender, der ewig, unvergänglich ist.
Wo das ewige Licht ist, in welche Welt die Sonne gesetzt ist, in diese versetze mich, o Pavamana, in die unsterbliche, unvergängliche Welt! Fließe für Indra ringsum ab, o Saft!
Где немеркнущий свет,
В (том) мире, где помещено солнце,
Туда помести меня, Павамана,
В бессмертный нерушимый мир!

यत्र यस्मिल्ँलोके वैवस्वतः विवस्वत्पुत्रः राजा भवति । यत्र च लोके दिवः आदित्यस्य अवरोधनं भूतानां प्रवेशनम् । किंच यत्र लोके यह्वती: महत्यः अमूः इमा गङ्गाद्याः आपः। तिष्ठन्ति । तत्र तादृशे लोके माममृतं मरणधर्मरहितं कृधि कुरु । मम देवत्वं प्रापयेत्यर्थः । ततः कारणात् परि स्रव ॥
“Where Vivasvat's son is king, where the inner chamber of the sun (is), where these great waters (are), there make me immortal; flow, Indu, for Indra.”
Make me immortal in that realm where dwells the King, Vivasvan's Son,
Where is the secret shrine of heaven, where are those waters young and fresh. Flow, Indu, flow for Indra's sake.
Where the son of Vivasvant is king, where there is a ladder down from heaven,
where those youthfully exuberant waters are, there make me immortal. – O drop, flow around for Indra.
Wo König ist Vivasvats Sohn, und wo des Himmels Heiligthum, Wo ewig strömt des Wassers Born, da mache du unsterblich mich.
Wo Vivasvat´s Sohn, der Yama, König ist, wo der verschlossene Ort des Himmels ist, wo jene jüngsten Gewässer sind, dort mache mich unsterblich! Fließe für Indra ringsum ab, o Saft!

यत्र त्रिदिवे तृतीयस्थां दिवि द्युलोके त्रिनाके । तत्राधरमध्यमोत्तमभावेन त्रीणि स्थानानि सन्ति । तत्र तृतीये नाके उत्तमे स्थाने दिवः आदित्यस्य अनुकामं कामानुगुणं चरणम् अस्ति । किंच यत्र यस्मिल्ँलोके लोकाः ज्योतिष्मन्तः ज्योतिर्युक्तास्तिष्ठन्ति । तत्र तादृशे लोके माममृतं कृधि । यथा ममोत्तमलोको भवति तथा त्वम् इन्द्राय परि स्रव ॥
“Where in the third heaven, in the third sphere, the sun wanders at will, where the regions are filled with light, there make me immortal; flow, Indu, for Indra.”
Make me immortal in that realm where they move even as they list,
In the third sphere of inmost heaven where lucid worlds are full of light. Flow, Indu, flow for Indra's sake.
Where one can move following one’s desire in the three-vaulted,
three-heavened (place) of heaven,
where there are worlds filled with light, there make me immortal.
– O drop, flow around for Indra.

Wo man durch Wunsches Kraft sich regt am dritten höchsten Himmelsdom, Wo glanzbegabt die Räume sind, da mache du unsterblich mich.
Wo man nach Lust wandeln darf im dreifachen Firmament, im dreifachen Raume des Himmels, wo die lichtvollen Welten sind, dort mache mich unsterblich! Fließe für Indra ringsum ab, o Saft!

यत्र यस्मिल्ँलोके कामाः काम्यमाना देवाः निकामाः नितरामवश्यं प्रार्थ्यमाना इन्द्रादयः च विद्यन्ते । यद्वा कामा निकामा अभिलाषा निकामाश्च यत्र विद्यन्ते । यत्र लोके ब्रध्नस्य सर्वेषां प्रज्ञापकस्य । यद्वा । सूर्येण विना कर्माणि न घटन्त इति सर्वेषां कर्मणां मूलभूतस्यादित्यस्य विष्टपं सहस्थानं यत्र विद्यते तत्र लोके । स्वधा अन्नं स्वधाकारेण वा दत्तमन्नं तृप्तिः तर्पणं हर्षणं हर्षः च यत्र विद्यते तत्र लोके माममृतं कृधि ॥
“Where wishes and desires (are), where the region of the sun (is), where food and delight (are) found, there make me immortal; flow, Indu, for Indra.”
Make me immortal in that realm of eager wish and strong desire,
The region of the radiant Moon, where food and full delight are found. Flow, Indu, flow for Indra's sake:
Where there are desires and yearnings, where the upper surface of the coppery one [=Sun and soma?] is,
where there is independence and satisfaction, there make me immortal. – O drop, flow around for Indra.
Wo Wunsch zugleich Erfüllung ist, und höchster Ort dem Flammenross, Wo Sehnsucht und Befriedigung, Da mache du unsterblich mich.

यत्र॑ । आ॒न॒न्दाः । च॒ । मोदाः॑ । च॒ । मुदः॑ । प्र॒ऽमुदः॑ । आस॑ते । काम॑स्य । यत्र॑ । आ॒प्ताः । कामाः॑ । तत्र॑ । माम् । अ॒मृत॑म् । कृ॒धि॒ । इन्द्रा॑य । इ॒न्दो॒ इति॑ । परि॑ । स्र॒व॒ ॥
यत्र यस्मिल्ँलोके आनन्दादयः आसते । तेषामल्पो भेदो द्रष्टव्यः । यत्र च लोके कामस्य काम्यमानस्य देवस्य सर्वे कामाः। आप्ताः प्राप्त भवन्ति तत्र माममृतं कृधि । एतत्तु त्वया विना न घटत इति हे सोम एवं परि स्रव ॥ ॥ २७ ॥
“Where there is happiness, plural asure, joy and enjoyment, where the wishes of the wishers are obtained, there make me immortal; flow, Indu, for Indra.”
Make me immortal in that realm where happiness and transports, where
Joys and felicities combine, and longing wishes are fulfilled. Flow, Indu, flow for Indra's sake.
Where joys and delights, elations and exaltations dwell,
where the desires of desire are obtained, there make me immortal.
