ऋषिअसितः काश्यपो देवलो वा
देवतापवमानः सोमः

छन्दगायत्री
परि॑ सुवा॒नो गि॑रि॒ष्ठाः प॒वित्रे॒ सोमो॑ अक्षाः । मदे॑षु सर्व॒धा अ॑सि ॥
परि॑ । सु॒वा॒नः । गि॒रि॒ऽस्थाः । प॒वित्रे॑ । सोमः॑ । अ॒क्षा॒रिति॑ । मदे॑षु । स॒र्व॒ऽधाः । अ॒सि॒ ॥
अयं सोमः पवित्रे परि अक्षाः परिक्षरति । सुवानः सूयमानः गिरिष्ठाः गिरिस्थायी । ग्रावसु वर्तमान इत्यर्थः । स त्वं मदेषु मादकेषु सोतृषु सर्वधा असि सर्वस्य धाता दाता वा भवसि ॥
“Effused while pressed between the stones, the Soma flows upon the straining cloth; you are the giver of all things to those who praise you. ”
THOU, Soma, dweller on the hills, effused, hast flowed into the sieve,:
All-bounteous art thou in carouse.
Mountain-dwelling Soma, being pressed, has flowed around in the filter. – You are the one who confers wholeness in the raptures of exhilaration.
Der Berg – entstammte Soma rinnt gekeltert zu der Seihe hin; Bei den Gelagen schenkst du Heil.
Der berggewachsene Soma kreiste ausgepreßt in der Seihe um. - Im Rausche bist du der Allgewährer.
Живущий на горе сома,
Выжатый, потек кругами в цедилке.
В опьянениях ты даешь все.
त्वं विप्र॒स्त्वं क॒विर्मधु॒ प्र जा॒तमन्ध॑सः । मदे॑षु सर्व॒धा अ॑सि ॥
त्वम् । विप्रः॑ । त्वम् । क॒विः । मधु॑ । प्र । जा॒तम् । अन्ध॑सः । मदे॑षु । स॒र्व॒ऽधाः । अ॒सि॒ ॥
हे सोम त्वं विप्रः विविधं प्रीणयिता विप्रसदृशो वा त्वं च कविः मेधावी । अतस्त्वम् अन्धसः अन्नात् जातं मधु मधुररसं प्र यच्छसीति शेषः । ।
“You are wise, you are a seer; you bestow the sweet (beverage) produced from the Soma; you are the giver of all things to those who praise you.”
Thou art a sacred Bard, a Sage; the meath is offipring of thy sap:
All-bountcous art thou in carouse.
You are the inspired one, you the sage poet, the honey that is born from the stalk.
– You are the one who confers wholeness in the raptures of exhilaration.
Du bist ein Sänger, Seher du, und Meth entspringt aus deinem Kraut; Bei den Gelagen schenkst du Heil.
Du bist der Redegewandte, du der Seher. Die aus deinem Safte entstandene Süßigkeit hat den Vorzug. - Im Rausche bist du der Allgewährer.

Мед, рожденный из растения.

तव॒ विश्वे॑ स॒जोष॑सो दे॒वास॑: पी॒तिमा॑शत । मदे॑षु सर्व॒धा अ॑सि ॥
तव॑ । विश्वे॑ । स॒ऽजोष॑सः । दे॒वासः॑ । पी॒तिम् । आ॒श॒त॒ । मदे॑षु । स॒र्व॒ऽधाः । अ॒सि॒ ॥
हे सोम तव पीतिं पानं विश्वे देवासः देवाः सजोषसः समानप्रीतयः सन्तः आशत प्राप्नुवन् ॥
“All the gods together plural ased enjoy your drinking; you are the giver of all things to those who praise you.”
All Deities of one accord have come that they may drink of thee:
All-bounteous art thou in carouse.
All the gods, joined in fellowship, have attained the drinking of you. – You are the one who confers wholeness in the raptures of exhilaration.

Die Götter alle im Verein, sie haben deinen Trunk erlangt; Bei den Gelagen schenkst du Heil.
Deinen Trank haben einmütig alle Götter erlangt. - Im Rausche bist du der Allgewährer.

Получили твое питье.

आ यो विश्वा॑नि॒ वार्या॒ वसू॑नि॒ हस्त॑योर्द॒धे । मदे॑षु सर्व॒धा अ॑सि ॥
आ । यः । विश्वा॑नि । वार्या॑ । वसू॑नि । हस्त॑योः । द॒धे । मदे॑षु । स॒र्व॒ऽधाः । अ॒सि॒ ॥
यः सोमः विश्वानि वार्या वरणीयानि वसूनि धनानि स्तोतुः हस्तयोः आ दधे करोति । प्रयच्छतीत्यर्थः । मदेषु सर्वधा असि इति । अथवा स शुष्मी इत्युत्तरत्र संबन्धः ॥
“(You are he) who plural ces in the hands (of the worshipper) all desirable riches, you are the giver of all things to those who praise you.”
He who containeth in his hands all treasures much to be desired:
All-bounteous art thou in carouse.
He who holds all desirable good things in his two hands—
– You are the one who confers wholeness in the raptures of exhilaration.

In seine Hände sind gelegt, Die schönen Schätze allzumal; Bei den Gelagen schenkst du Heil.
Der alle begehrenswerten Schätze in seinen Händen hält. - Im Rausche bist du der Allgewährer.

Держит в (своих) руках, –

यः । इ॒मे इति॑ । रोद॑सी॒ इति॑ । म॒ही इति॑ । सम् । मा॒तरा॑ऽइव । दोह॑ते । मदे॑षु । स॒र्व॒ऽधाः । अ॒सि॒ ॥
यः सोमः इमे मही महत्यौ रोदसी द्यावापृथिव्यौ सं दोहते। उभयोः सारं परिगृह्णातीत्यर्थः । मातरेव यथा द्वे मातरावेको वत्सो दोहते तद्वत् ॥
“(You are he) who milks this great heaven and earth like two mothers; you are the giver of all things to those who praise you.”
Who milketh out this mighty Pair, the Earth and Heaven, like mother kine
All-bounteous art thou in carouse.
Who will yield milk like these two great world-halves, the two mothers together—
– You are the one who confers wholeness in the raptures of exhilaration.
Der dieses grosse Weltenpaar aussauget wie der Mutter Brust; Bei den Gelagen schenkst du Heil.
Der diese beiden großen Welten wie zwei Mutterkühe melkt. - Im Rausche bist du der Allgewährer.

Выдаивает вместе, словно двух матерей, –

परि॑ । यः । रोद॑सी॒ इति॑ । उ॒भे इति॑ । स॒द्यः । वाजे॑भिः । अर्ष॑ति । मदे॑षु । स॒र्व॒ऽधाः । अ॒सि॒ ॥
यः सोमः उभे रोदसी द्यावापृथिव्यौ सद्यः तदानीमेव वाजेभिः अन्नैः परि अर्षति परिगच्छति । सोमाहुत्या द्यावापृथिव्यावन्नवत्यौ करोतीत्यर्थः ॥
“(You are he) who at once supplies both heaven and earth with viands; you are the giver of all things to those who praise you.”
Who in a moment mightily floweth around these two world-halvcs:
All-bounteous art thou in carouse.
Who on the same day rushes around both worlds with the prizes of victory—
– You are the one who confers wholeness in the raptures of exhilaration.

Und der durch beide Welten rinnt an einem Tag mit Labungen; Bei den Gelagen schenkst du Heil.
Der beide Welten alsbald mit seinen Trophäen umströmt. - Im Rausche bist du der Allgewährer.
Кто сразу же обтекает обе
Половины вселенной со (своими) наградами, –
В опьянениях ты даешь все.
स शु॒ष्मी क॒लशे॒ष्वा पु॑ना॒नो अ॑चिक्रदत् । मदे॑षु सर्व॒धा अ॑सि ॥
सः । शु॒ष्मी । क॒लशे॑षु । आ । पु॒ना॒नः । अ॒चि॒क्र॒द॒त् । मदे॑षु । स॒र्व॒ऽधाः । अ॒सि॒ ॥
उक्तरीत्या महान् सः सोमः शुष्मी बलवान् पुनानः पूयमानः सन् आ अचिक्रदत् शब्दं करोति । अत्र सर्वत्र यथोचितमुत्तरपादो नेयः ॥ ॥ ८ ॥
“This vigorous Soma, while being purified, murmurs in the pitchers; you are the giver of all things to those who praise you.”
The Strong One, being purified, hath in the pitchers cried aloud:
All-bounteous art thou in carouse.
He, tempestuous in the tubs, kept roaring while being purified.
– You are the one who confers wholeness in the raptures of exhilaration.
Er wieherte, der feurige, gereiniget den Schalen zu; Bei den Gelagen schenkst du Heil.
Der Ungestüme hat sich läuternd in den Krügen gebrüllt. - Im Rausche bist du der Allgewährer.
Этот неистовый, очищаясь,
Громко заревел в кувшинах.
