देवतापवमानः सोमः

छन्दगायत्री
ए॒ष वा॒जी हि॒तो नृभि॑र्विश्व॒विन्मन॑स॒स्पति॑: । अव्यो॒ वारं॒ वि धा॑वति ॥
ए॒षः । वा॒जी । हि॒तः । नृऽभिः॑ । वि॒श्व॒ऽवित् । मन॑सः । पतिः॑ । अव्यः॑ । वार॑म् । वि । धा॒व॒ति॒ ॥
एषः सोमः वाजी गमनशीलः हितः अध्वर्युणा पात्रे निहितः विश्ववित् सर्वज्ञः मनसः स्तोत्रस्य पतिः स्वामी । अथवा सोमस्य मनोभिमानित्वात् मनसः स्वामित्वं चन्द्रमा मनो भूत्वा हृदयं प्राविशत् ' ( ऐ. आ. २.४.२) इति श्रुतेः । तादृशोऽसौ अव्यो वारम् अवेर्वालं दशापवित्रं वि धावति विविधं गच्छति ॥
“This swift-flowing (Soma) plural ced (in the vessels) by the priests, all-knowing, the lord of praise, has to the woollen (filter).”
URGED by the men, this vigorous Steed, Lord of the mind, Omniscient,
Runs to the woollen straining-cloth.
This one, the prizewinner propelled by men, all-knowing as the lord of mind,
runs through the sheep’s fleece.
Dies Ross, von Männern ausgesandt, des Geistes Herr, der alles weiss, Er strömet durch die Wolle hin.
Dieses preisgewinnende Roß, das von den Herren zum Lauf getrieben wird, der allwissende Gebieter des Gedankens, läuft durch das Schafhaar.
Этот посланный мужами завоеватель награды,
Знающий все, повелитель мысли,
Бежит сквозь сито из овечьей шерсти.
ए॒ष प॒वित्रे॑ अक्षर॒त्सोमो॑ दे॒वेभ्य॑: सु॒तः । विश्वा॒ धामा॑न्यावि॒शन् ॥
ए॒षः । प॒वित्रे॑ । अ॒क्ष॒र॒त् । सोमः॑ । दे॒वेभ्यः॑ । सु॒तः । विश्वा॑ । धामा॑नि । आ॒ऽवि॒शन् ॥
एषः सोमः देवेभ्यः देवार्थं सुतः अभिषुतः सन् पवित्रे अक्षरत् स्रवति । विश्वा सर्वाणि धामानि देवशरीराणि आविशन् प्रविशन् । प्रवेष्टुमित्यर्थः ॥
“This (Soma), effused for the gods, flows into the filter, penetrating all the (divine) forms.”
Within the filter hath he flowed, this Soma for the Gods effused,
Entering all their essences.
This one has flowed into the filter, the soma pressed for the gods,
entering all their domains.
Er strömet zu der Seihe hin, der Soma, Göttern ausgepresst, Und geht in alle Stätten ein.
Dieser Soma floß in die Seihe für die Götter ausgepreßt, alle seine Formen annehmend.
Этот полился в цедилке,
Сома, выжатый для богов,
Проникая во все формы.
ए॒ष दे॒वः शु॑भाय॒तेऽधि॒ योना॒वम॑र्त्यः । वृ॒त्र॒हा दे॑व॒वीत॑मः ॥
ए॒षः । दे॒वः । शु॒भा॒य॒ते॒ । अधि॑ । योनौ॑ । अम॑र्त्यः । वृ॒त्र॒ऽहा । दे॒व॒ऽवीत॑मः ॥
एषः सोमः देवः शुभायते शोभते । कुन्न । अधि योनौ स्वीये स्थाने । कीदृश एषः । अमर्त्यः अमरणधर्मा वृत्रहा शत्रुहन्ता देववीतमः अतिशयेन देवानां कामयिता ॥
“This divine immortal (Soma) is brilliant in his own plural ce, the slayer of enemies, the most devoted to the gods.”
He shines in beauty there, this God Immortal in his dwelling-place,
Foe-slayer, dearest to the Gods.
This one, an immortal god, beautifies himself in his womb,
the smasher of obstacles, best pursuer of the gods.
Es glänzet der unsterbliche, auf seinem Sitze dieser Gott, Der Feinde schlägt und Götter labt.
Dieser Gott macht sich schön in seiner Wiege, der Unsterbliche, der Vritratöter, der die Götter am meisten einlädt.
Этот бог красуется
На (своем) лоне, бессмертный,
Убийца Вритры, лучше всех приглашающий богов.
ए॒ष वृषा॒ कनि॑क्रदद्द॒शभि॑र्जा॒मिभि॑र्य॒तः । अ॒भि द्रोणा॑नि धावति ॥
ए॒षः । वृषा॑ । कनि॑क्रदत् । द॒शऽभिः॑ । जा॒मिऽभिः॑ । य॒तः । अ॒भि । द्रोणा॑नि । धा॒व॒ति॒ ॥
एष वृषा वर्षिता कामानां कनिक्रदत् शब्दं कुर्वन् दशभिर्जामिभिः अङ्गुलीभिः यतः धृतः द्रोणानि द्रुममयाणि पात्राणि अभि धावति अभिगच्छति ॥
“This showerer (of desire), expressed by the ten fingers, has uttered a sound ot the pitchers.”
Directed by the Sisters ten, bellowing on his way this Steer
Runs onward to the wooden vats.
This one, the ever-roaring bull, held by the ten siblings [=fingers],
runs to the wooden cups.
Er läuft, der Hengst, der wiehernde, gelenkt von zehn verschwisterten, Nun zu den Somakufen hin.
Dieser Bulle läuft brüllend von zehn Geschwistern gezügelt nach den Holzgefäßen.
Этот бык, громко ревя,
Направленный десятью сестрами,
Бежит к деревянным сосудам.
ए॒ष सूर्य॑मरोचय॒त्पव॑मानो॒ विच॑र्षणिः । विश्वा॒ धामा॑नि विश्व॒वित् ॥
ए॒षः । सूर्य॑म् । अ॒रो॒च॒य॒त् । पव॑मानः । विऽच॑र्षणिः । विश्वा॑ । धामा॑नि । वि॒श्व॒ऽवित् ॥
एषः सोमः सूर्यमरोचयत् रोचयति स्वरसेन । पवमानः पूयमानः विचर्षणिः सर्वस्य द्रष्टा विश्ववित् सर्ववित् । न केवलं सूर्यं किंतु विश्वा सर्वाणि धामानि तेजःस्थानानि रोचयति ॥
“This purified, all-contemplating, all-knowing (Soma) gives radiance to the sun and all the spheres (of light).”
This Pavamana, swiftand strong, Omniscient, gave spleudour to
The Sun and all his forms of light.
This one, self-purifying, boundless, made the sun shine,
as the all-knowing one (knowing) all the domains.
Er zündete die Sonne an, der flammende, bewegliche, Der aller Stätten kundig ist.
Dieser erleuchtete die Sonnen, sich läuternd, der Ausgezeichnete, alle Formen vollständig kennend.
Этот Павамана заставил светить
Солнце, (он) очень подвижный,
(Проникающий во) все формы, всезнающий.
ए॒ष शु॒ष्म्यदा॑भ्य॒: सोम॑: पुना॒नो अ॑र्षति । दे॒वा॒वीर॑घशंस॒हा ॥
ए॒षः । शु॒ष्मी । अदा॑भ्यः । सोमः॑ । पु॒ना॒नः । अ॒र्ष॒ति॒ । दे॒व॒ऽअ॒वीः । अ॒घ॒शं॒स॒ऽहा ॥
एषः सोमः शुष्मी बलवान् अदाभ्यः अदम्भनीयः पुनानः पूयमानः अर्षति गच्छति । देवावीः देवानामविता अघशंसहा । अघान् शंसन्तीत्यघशंसाः । तेषां हन्ता ॥ ॥ १८ ॥
“This powerful invincible purifying Soma proceeds the protector of the gods, the destroyer of the wicked.”
This Soma being purified, flows mighty and infallible,
Slayer of sinners, dear toGods.
This one, tempestuous, undeceivable Soma, rushes while being purified, pursuing the gods, smashing those who utter evil.
Der starke, unverletzliche, der Soma strömt geklärt dahin, Der Frevler schlägt und Götter labt.
Dieser feurige, unbetörbare Soma rinnt sich läuternd, göttereinladend, die Übelredner erschlagend.
Этот необузданный, безобманный
Сома течет, очищаясь,
Приглашающий богов, убивающий злоречивцев.
