ऋषिगोतमो राहूगणः
देवतापवमानः सोमः

छन्दगायत्री
प्र सोमा॑सः स्वा॒ध्य१॒॑: पव॑मानासो अक्रमुः । र॒यिं कृ॑ण्वन्ति॒ चेत॑नम् ॥
प्र । सोमा॑सः । स्वा॒ध्यः॑ । पव॑मानासः । अ॒क्र॒मुः॒ । र॒यिम् । कृ॒ण्व॒न्ति॒ । चेत॑नम् ॥
प्र अक्रमुः प्रगच्छन्ति कलशं प्रति । के। सोमासः सोमाः । कीदृशाः। स्वाध्यः सुध्यानाः सुकर्माणो वा पवमानासः पूयमानाः । ते च चेतनं प्रज्ञापनं रयिं धनं कृण्वन्ति कुर्वन्त्यस्माकम् ॥
“The benevolent juices being purified flow forth, they confer intellectual wealth.”
THE, Soma-drops, benevolent, come forth as they are purified,
Bestowing wealth which all may see.
The self-purifying soma juices have marched forth rich in purpose. They make wealth manifest.
Die Somatränke schritten vor, mit Achtsamkeit die rieselnden, Sie schaffen Reichthum, herrlichen.
Die sich läuternden Somasäfte sind in guter Absicht ausgezogen; sie schaffen merklichen Reichtum.
Соки сомы доброжелательные,
Паваманы двинулись вперед.
Они создают примечательное богатство.
दि॒वस्पृ॑थि॒व्या अधि॒ भवे॑न्दो द्युम्न॒वर्ध॑नः । भवा॒ वाजा॑नां॒ पति॑: ॥
दि॒वः । पृ॒थि॒व्याः । अधि॑ । भव॑ । इ॒न्दो॒ इति॑ । द्यु॒म्न॒ऽवर्ध॑नः । भव॑ । वाजा॑नाम् । पतिः॑ ॥
हे इन्दो वाजानाम् अन्नानां पतिः स्वामी त्वं दिवः द्युलोकस्य पृथिव्याः भूलोकस्य द्युम्नवर्धनः द्योतमानस्य हिरण्यादिलक्षणधनस्य वर्धयिता भव । अस्माकं लोकद्वये यत् द्युम्नमस्ति तस्य वर्धयिता भवास्मभ्यमित्यर्थः ॥
“Indu, be (to us) the augmenter of the riches of heaven and earth, be the lord of food.”
O Indu, high o'er heaven and earth be thou, increaser of our might:
The Master of all strength be thou.
Become the increaser of brilliance from heaven and from earth, o drop; become the lord of prizes.
Vom Himmel, von der Erde her sei, Indu, Kraftvermehrer uns, Sei du der Herr der Labungen.
Vom Himmel und der Erde her sei, o Saft, ein Glanzmehrer, sei der Herr der Gewinne!
С неба (и) с земли
Будь, о (капля), усилителем блеска!
Будь повелительницей наград!
तुभ्यं॒ वाता॑ अभि॒प्रिय॒स्तुभ्य॑मर्षन्ति॒ सिन्ध॑वः । सोम॒ वर्ध॑न्ति ते॒ मह॑: ॥
तुभ्य॑म् । वाताः॑ । अ॒भि॒ऽप्रियः॑ । तुभ्य॑म् । अ॒र्ष॒न्ति॒ । सिन्ध॑वः । सोम॑ । वर्ध॑न्ति । ते॒ । महः॑ ॥
हे सोम तुभ्यं त्वदर्थं वाताः वायवः अभिप्रियः अभितर्पयितारो भवन्ति । तथा सिन्धवः स्यन्दमाना नद्यः तुभ्यमर्षन्ति गच्छन्ति । अभिषूयमाणस्य तवाप्यायनायैवं कुर्वन्तीत्यर्थः । त उभयेऽमी ते तव महः महत्त्वं वर्धन्ति वर्धयन्ति ॥
“For you, Soma, the winds are gracious, for you the rivers flow, they magnify your greatness.”
The winds are gracious in their love to thee, the rivers flow to thee
Soma, they multiply thy power.
For you rush the favoring winds, for you the rivers.
O Soma, they increase your greatness.
Die Flüsse strömen, Soma, dir und dir die Winde hold gesinnt, Sie mehren deine Herrlichkeit.
Dir wehen die Winde angenehm, dir fließen die Ströme; sie mehren deine Herrlichkeit, o Soma.
Для тебя (дуют) благоприятные ветры,
Для тебя текут реки.
О сома, они увеличивают твою мощь!
आ प्या॑यस्व॒ समे॑तु ते वि॒श्वत॑: सोम॒ वृष्ण्य॑म् । भवा॒ वाज॑स्य संग॒थे ॥
आ । प्या॒य॒स्व॒ । सम् । ए॒तु॒ । ते॒ । वि॒श्वतः॑ । सो॒म॒ । वृष्ण्य॑म् । भव॑ । वाज॑स्य । स॒म्ऽग॒थे ॥
हे सोम त्वं वायुभिरद्भिश्च आ प्यायस्व प्रवृद्धो भव । ते त्वां विश्वतः वृष्ण्यं वर्षयोग्यं , बलं समेतु संगच्छताम् । संगथे संग्रामे वाजस्य अन्नस्य प्रापकः भव ॥
“Be well nourished, Soma; may vigour come to you from all sides, be (the giver) of strength in battle.”
Soma, wax great. From every side may vigorous powers unite in thee:
Be in the gathering-Place of strength.
Swell up, lot thy strength be gathered
From all sides, O Soma;
Be strong in the gathering of might.
Swell here, and let bullish power come together for you from all
sides, Soma.
Be at the gathering for the prize.
Schwill, Soma, an, es komme dir von allen Seiten Heldenkraft, Sei, wo die Kraft zusammenströmt.
Quill auf! Von überall soll deine Bullenstärke zusammenkommen, o Soma! Sei dabei, wo der Gewinn sich anhäuft.

Со всех сторон твоя бычья сила, о сома!
Будь на месте стечения наград!
तुभ्यं॒ गावो॑ घृ॒तं पयो॒ बभ्रो॑ दुदु॒ह्रे अक्षि॑तम् । वर्षि॑ष्ठे॒ अधि॒ सान॑वि ॥
तुभ्य॑म् । गावः॑ । घृ॒तम् । पयः॑ । बभ्रो॒ इति॑ । दु॒दु॒ह्रे । अक्षि॑तम् । वर्षि॑ष्ठे । अधि॑ । सान॑वि ॥
हे बभ्रो बभ्रुवर्ण सोम तुभ्यं त्वदर्थं गावो घृतं पयः च अक्षितम् अक्षीणं दुदुहे दुहते । वर्षिष्ठे प्रवृद्धे अधि सानवि समुच्छ्रिते प्रदेशे स्थिताय तुभ्यम् ॥
“Tawny-tinted (Soma), the cows yield butter and milk inexhaustible for you (set) on the highest summit.”
For thee, brown-hued! the kine have poured imperishable oil and milk.
Aloft on the sublimest height.
For you, o brown one, the cows have yielded imperishable ghee
and milk
upon the highest back.
Die Kühe strömen fette Milch, die nie versiegt, o rother, dir, Hin auf der Seihe höchsten Berg.
Für dich, du Brauner, haben die Kühe unversieglich Schmalz und Milch gegeben, auf dem höchsten Rücken.
Для тебя коровы надоили,
О бурый, растопленное масло, нетленное молоко
На самой высокой вершине.
स्वा॒यु॒धस्य॑ ते स॒तो भुव॑नस्य पते व॒यम् । इन्दो॑ सखि॒त्वमु॑श्मसि ॥
सु॒ऽआ॒यु॒धस्य॑ । ते॒ । स॒तः । भुव॑नस्य । प॒ते॒ । व॒यम् । इन्दो॒ इति॑ । स॒खि॒ऽत्वम् । उ॒श्म॒सि॒ ॥
हे भुवनस्य भूतजातस्य पते स्वामिन् पालक सोम। सोमस्य जगदाप्यायिकत्वेन तत्स्वामित्वम् । हे इन्दो सोम वयम् अनुष्ठातारः स्वायुधस्य ते तव सतः सखित्वमुश्मसि कामयामहे ॥ ॥ २१ ॥
“Indu, lord of beings, we desire the friendship of you, the well-armed.”
Friendship, O Indu, we desire with thee who bearest noble arms,
With thee, O Lord of all that is.
You—who have good weapons, who are really present, o lord of
creation—
we want your fellowship, o drop.
Wir wünschen deine Freundschaft uns von dir, o Indu, Herr der Welt, Der du so schön bewaffnet bist.
Du, Herr der Welt, wir wünschen deine Freundschaft, o Saft, da du gute Waffen führst.
С тобой, имеющим прекрасное оружие,
О Господин вселенной, мы,
О капля, хотим жружбы.
