ऋषिअयास्यः
देवतापवमानः सोमः

छन्दगायत्री
असृ॑ग्रन्दे॒ववी॑त॒येऽत्या॑स॒: कृत्व्या॑ इव । क्षर॑न्तः पर्वता॒वृध॑: ॥
असृ॑ग्रन् । दे॒वऽवी॑तये । अत्या॑सः । कृत्व्याः॑ऽइव । क्षर॑न्तः । प॒र्व॒त॒ऽवृधः॑ ॥
पर्वतावृधः पर्वतैरभिषवग्रावभिर्वृद्धाः पर्वतेषु जाता वा क्षरन्तः सोमाः देववीतये यज्ञाथ अत्यासः अश्वाः कृत्व्याइव यथा कर्मण्या अश्वाः तद्वत् असृग्रन् सृज्यन्ते ॥
“Begotten by the stones the flowing (Soma-juices) are effused for the banquet of the gods' active horses.”
LIKE able coursers they have been sent forth to be the feast of Gods,
joying in mountains, flowing on.
They have been released to pursue the gods, like steeds that get results, flowing, grown strong in the mountains.
Ergossen sind zum Göttermahl wie kraftbegabte Rosse sie, Die rinnend sich der Steine freun.
Sie sind losgelassen wie siegesgewisse Rennpferde zur Göttereinladung, wann die auf dem Berge Gewachsenen rinnen.
परि॑ष्कृतास॒ इन्द॑वो॒ योषे॑व॒ पित्र्या॑वती । वा॒युं सोमा॑ असृक्षत ॥
परि॑ऽकृतासः । इन्द॑वः । योषा॑ऽइव । पित्र्य॑ऽवती । वा॒युम् । सोमाः॑ । अ॒सृ॒क्ष॒त॒ ॥
इन्दवः यागेषु क्लिद्यमानाः सोमाः परिष्कृतासः परिष्कृता अलंकृताः सन्तः पित्र्यावती पितृमती योषेव अलंकृता कन्यका यथा वरं प्रति गच्छति तद्वत् वायुं प्रति असृक्षत गच्छन्ति ॥
“The Soma-juices pressed (at the sacrifice), adorned like a bride who has a father, flow to Vāyu.”
To Vayu flow the Soma-streams, the drops of juice made beautiful
Like a bride dowered by her sire.
The drops, adorned like a maiden with her patrimony,
the soma drinks have been released to Vāyu.
Die Indutränke sind geschmückt wie eine Maid im Vatersitz, Zu Vaju sind sie hingeströmt.
Geschmückt wie ein junges Weib, das ihr väterliches Erbteil hat, wurden die Somasäfte zu Vayu losgelassen.

ए॒ते । सोमा॑सः । इन्द॑वः । प्रय॑स्वन्तः । च॒मू इति॑ । सु॒ताः । इन्द्र॑म् । व॒र्ध॒न्ति॒ । कर्म॑ऽभिः ॥
इन्दवः दीप्ताः प्रयस्वन्तः अन्नवन्तः एते अस्मिन् कर्मणि वर्तमाना अमी सोमासः सोमाः चमू चम्वोरधिषवणफलकयोः सुताः अभिषुताः सन्तः कर्मभिः यागैः इन्द्रं वर्धयन्ति प्रीणयन्तीत्यर्थः ॥
“These brilliang Soma-juices, bestowing plural asant food, expressed into the vessel, gratify Indra with the ceremonies.”
Pressed in the mortar, these, the drops of
juice, the Somas rich in food,
Give strength to Indra with their work.
These soma juices, the drops, dispensing delight when pressed in the cup, strengthen Indra along with the (ritual) activities.
Den Indra stärken durch ihr Werk die labereichen Tropfen hier, Der ausgepresste Somatrunk.
Diese Somasäfte samt Opferschmaus, die in dem Camugefäß ausgequetscht sind, stärken den Indra durch die heiligen Handlungen.
आ धा॑वता सुहस्त्यः शु॒क्रा गृ॑भ्णीत म॒न्थिना॑ । गोभि॑: श्रीणीत मत्स॒रम् ॥
आ । धा॒व॒त॒ । सु॒ऽह॒स्त्यः॒ । शु॒क्रा । गृ॒भ्णी॒त॒ । म॒न्थिना॑ । गोभिः॑ । श्री॒णी॒त॒ । म॒त्स॒रम् ॥
हे सुहस्त्यः शोभनहस्ता ऋत्विजः आ धावत । मां संप्रति आगच्छत । मन्थिना सह शुक्रा शुक्रं च गृभ्णीत गृह्णीत सोमम् । मत्सरं सोमं गोभिः गोविकारैः पयोभिः श्रीणीत संस्कुरुत च ॥
“Dexterous (priests) have (to me), taken with the ladle the pure (Soma), mix the exhilarating (Soma) with milk and curds.”
Deft-handed men, run hither, seize the brilliant juices blent with meal,
And cook with milk the gladdening draught.
Rinse it, you (fingers) of good hands; grasp the two (soma drinks), the stirred and the pure.
Mix the exhilarating one with cows.
Durchspült mit rüst'gen Händen ihn, ergreift das helle Trankgemisch, Und mischt mit Milch den Wonnetrank.
Ihr Handtüchtigen, spület, schöpfet den klaren und den mit Mehl gerührten Schoppen; mischet den berauschenden Soma mit Milch!
स प॑वस्व धनंजय प्रय॒न्ता राध॑सो म॒हः । अ॒स्मभ्यं॑ सोम गातु॒वित् ॥
सः । प॒व॒स्व॒ । ध॒न॒म्ऽज॒य॒ । प्र॒ऽय॒न्ता । राध॑सः । म॒हः । अ॒स्मभ्य॑म् । सो॒म॒ । गा॒तु॒ऽवित् ॥
हे धनंजय शत्रुसंबन्धिनां जनानां जेतः सोम गातुवित् अभीष्टमार्गस्य लम्भकः अस्मभ्यं महः महतः राधसः धनस्य प्रयन्ता प्रदाता च यः सः त्वं पवस्व क्षर ॥
“Soma, conqueror of wealth, who know the way (to fulfil my desires), flow forth the bestower of vast wealth upon us.”
Thus, Soma, Conqueror of wealth! flow, finding furtherance for us,
Giver oF ample opulence.
Purify yourself, you winner of stakes, as provider of great bounty and as pathfinder for us, o Soma.
O riesle hell, erbeutender, Darreicher grosser Gaben du, Und schaff uns, Soma, freie Bahn.
Läutere dich, du Schätzegewinner, als Spender großer Ehrengabe, als Pfadfinder für uns, o Soma!
ए॒तं मृ॑जन्ति॒ मर्ज्यं॒ पव॑मानं॒ दश॒ क्षिप॑: । इन्द्रा॑य मत्स॒रं मद॑म् ॥
ए॒तम् । मृ॒ज॒न्ति॒ । मर्ज्य॑म् । पव॑मानम् । दश॑ । क्षिपः॑ । इन्द्रा॑य । म॒त्स॒रम् । मद॑म् ॥
मर्ज्यं मर्जनीयं शोध्यं पवमानं क्षरन्तं मत्सरं मदकरम् एतम् इमं मदं सोमं दशसंख्याकाः क्षिपः अङ्गुलयः । ‘ व्रिशः क्षिपः' इत्यङ्गुलिनामसु पाठात् । इन्द्रार्थं मृजन्ति पवित्रे शोधयन्ति ॥ ॥ ३ ॥
“The ten fingers purify this purifiable pure-flowing exhilarating juice for Indra.”
This Pavamana, meet to be adorned, the fingers ten adorn,
The draught that shall make Indra glad.
The ten fingers groom this one worth grooming, the self-purifying exhilarating drink of exhilaration for Indra.
Den läutrungswerthen läutern nun zehn Finger, ihn den rieselnden, Den Trank, der Indra'n Rausch erregt.
Es putzen den Putzenswerten, sich Läuternden die zehn Finger, für Indra den berauschenden Rauschtrank.
