देवतापवमानः सोमः

छन्दगायत्री
पव॑स्व गो॒जिद॑श्व॒जिद्वि॑श्व॒जित्सो॑म रण्य॒जित् । प्र॒जाव॒द्रत्न॒मा भ॑र ॥
पव॑स्व । गो॒ऽजित् । अ॒श्व॒ऽजित् । वि॒श्व॒ऽजित् । सो॒म॒ । र॒ण्य॒ऽजित् । प्र॒जाऽव॑त् । रत्न॑म् । आ । भ॒र॒ ॥
हे सोम गोजित् शत्रूणां गवां जेता अश्वजित् अश्वानामपि जेता विश्वजित् विश्वस्य जगतो जेता रण्यजित् रमणीयस्य धनस्यापि जेता त्वं पवस्व धारया क्षर । अपि चास्मभ्यं प्रजावत् पुत्राद्युपेतं रत्नं रमणीयं धनम् आ भर आहर ॥
“Flow, Soma, conqueror of cattle, of horses, of all things, of desirable wealth; bring us riches with male offspring.”
FLOW onward, Soma, winning kine, and steeds, and all that gives delight:
Bring hither wealth with progeny.
Purify yourself, Soma, as cow-winner, horse-winner, all-winner,
joy-winner.
Bring here a treasure consisting of offspring.
O Soma riesle, Rind und Ross gewinnend, alles, was erfreut, Bring kinderreichen Schatz herbei.
Läutere dich, Soma, Rinder, Rosse, alles ersiegend, Erfreuliches ersiegend! Bring uns einen Schatz von Kindern!
पव॑स्वा॒द्भ्यो अदा॑भ्य॒: पव॒स्वौष॑धीभ्यः । पव॑स्व धि॒षणा॑भ्यः ॥
पव॑स्व । अ॒त्ऽभ्यः । अदा॑भ्यः । पव॑स्व । ओष॑धीभ्यः । पव॑स्व । धि॒षणा॑भ्यः ॥
हे सोम त्वम् अद्भ्यः वसतीवरीभ्यः अदाभ्यः अंशुभ्यश्च पवस्व क्षर । अपि च ओषधीभ्यः पवस्व क्षर। किंच धिषणाभ्यः ग्रावभ्यः पवस्व क्षर ॥
“Flow with waters and with filaments, flow with herbs, flow with the stones.”
Flow onward from the waters, flow, inviolable, from the plants:
Flow onward from the pressing-boards.
Purify yourself undeceivable for the waters; purify yourself for the plants; purify yourself for the Holy Places.
Trugloser, riesle aus der Flut und riesle aus den Kräutern her Und aus den Schalen riesle hell.
Läutere dich für die Gewässer, ohne dich betören zu lassen, läutere dich für die Pflanzen, läutere dich für die priesterlichen Werke!
त्वं सो॑म॒ पव॑मानो॒ विश्वा॑नि दुरि॒ता त॑र । क॒विः सी॑द॒ नि ब॒र्हिषि॑ ॥
त्वम् । सो॒म॒ । पव॑मानः । विश्वा॑नि । दुः॒ऽइ॒ता । त॒र॒ । क॒विः । सी॒द॒ । नि । ब॒र्हिषि॑ ॥
हे सोम पवमानः पूयमानः कविः क्रान्तकर्मा त्वं विश्वानि सर्वाणि दुरितानि राक्षसैः कृतान्युपद्रवाणि तर निराकुरु । अस्मिन् बर्हिषि नि षीद च ॥
“Soma, do you who are the purifier, the sage, overcome all hindrances; sit down on the sacred grass.”
Soma, as Pavamana, pass over all trouble and distress:
Sit on the sacred grass, a Sage.
Purifying yourself, Soma, cross all difficult passages.
As poet sit down on the ritual grass.
O Soma, flammend rieselnder, dring siegreich hin durch alle Noth Und setz dich, weiser, auf die Streu.
Entgeh, o Soma, wenn du dich läuterst, allen Fährlichkeiten! Du, der Weise, setze dich auf das Barhis!
पव॑मान॒ स्व॑र्विदो॒ जाय॑मानोऽभवो म॒हान् । इन्दो॒ विश्वाँ॑ अ॒भीद॑सि ॥
पव॑मान । स्वः॑ । वि॒दः॒ । जाय॑मानः । अ॒भ॒वः॒ । म॒हान् । इन्दो॒ इति॑ । विश्वा॑न् । अ॒भि । इत् । अ॒सि॒ ॥
हे पवमान सोम त्वं स्वः सर्वं विदः यजमानाय प्रयच्छ । अपि च जायमानः प्रादुर्भवन्नेव महान् पूजनीयः अभवः असि । किंच हे इन्दो सोम त्वं विश्वानित् सर्वानेव शत्रून् अभि असि तेजसाभिभवसि ॥ ॥ १६ ॥
“O purifying Soma, grant all boons; as soon as you are born you are great; Indu, you overcome all (foes).”
Thou, Pavamana, foundest light; thou at thy birth becamest great:
O Indu, thou art over all.
Self-purifying one, you find the sun; on just being born, you became great. Drop, you dominate all.
Verleibe Glanz, o flammender, kaum erst geboren warst du gross, Ja, alle überragest du.
Pavamana, finde das Sonnenlicht! Bei deiner Geburt wardst du der Große. Du Saft übertriffst alle.
