ऋषिअसितः काश्यपो देवलो वा
देवतापवमानः सोमः

छन्दगायत्री
ए॒ते सोमा॑ अ॒भि प्रि॒यमिन्द्र॑स्य॒ काम॑मक्षरन् । वर्ध॑न्तो अस्य वी॒र्य॑म् ॥
ए॒ते । सोमाः॑ । अ॒भि । प्रि॒यम् । इन्द्र॑स्य । काम॑म् । अ॒क्ष॒र॒न् । वर्ध॑न्तः । अ॒स्य॒ । वी॒र्य॑म् ॥
एते अभिषुता इमे सोमाः अस्य इन्द्रस्य वीर्यं शक्तिं वर्धन्तः वर्धयन्तः इन्द्रस्य कामं काम्यं प्रियं प्रीतिकरं रसम् अभि अक्षरन् अभिपवन्ते अभ्यवर्षन् ।
“These Soma juices distil the dear desire of Indra, increasing his vigour.”
OBEYING Indra's dear desire these Soma juices have flowed forth,
Increasing his heroic might.
These soma juices have flowed toward Indra’s own desire,
increasing his heroic power.
Die Somatränke strömten hier dem lieben Wunsch des Indra zu, Sie stärken seine Heldenkraft.
Diese Somasäfte sind Indra´s liebem Wunsch entgegengeflossen, seine Manneskraft erhöhend.
Эти соки сомы потекли
Навстречу милому желанию Индры,
Усиливая его мужество.
पु॒ना॒नास॑श्चमू॒षदो॒ गच्छ॑न्तो वा॒युम॒श्विना॑ । ते नो॑ धान्तु सु॒वीर्य॑म् ॥
पु॒ना॒नासः॑ । च॒मू॒ऽसदः॑ । गच्छ॑न्तः । वा॒युम् । अ॒श्विना॑ । ते । नः॒ । धा॒न्तु॒ । सु॒ऽवीर्य॑म् ॥
ते प्रसिद्धाः सोमाः पुनानासः पुनाना अभिषूयमाणाः चमूषदः चमसेषु सीदन्तः वायुम् अश्विना अश्विनौ च गच्छन्तः प्राप्नुवन्तः नः अस्मभ्यं सुवीर्यं शोभनवीर्यं धान्तु धारयन्तु । प्रयच्छन्त्वित्यर्थः ॥
“Pure-flowing, filling the ladles, and proceeding to Vāyu and the Aśvins, may they sustain our energy.”
Laid in the bowl, pure-flowing on to Vayu and the Asvins, may
These give us great heroic strength.
Being purified, finding a seat in the cups, going to Vāyu and the Aśvins,
let them confer good heroic power on us.
Wenn rein sie in den Schalen ruhn, zum Vaju, zu den Rittern gehn, So geben sie uns Heldenkraft.
Sich läuternd, in den Gefäßen sitzend, zu Vayu und den Asvin gehend, sollen sie uns die Meisterschaft bringen.
Очищаясь, осаждаясь в чане,
Направляясь к Ваю, Ашвинам,
Пусть наделят они нас обилием мужей!
इन्द्र॑स्य सोम॒ राध॑से पुना॒नो हार्दि॑ चोदय । ऋ॒तस्य॒ योनि॑मा॒सद॑म् ॥
इन्द्र॑स्य । सो॒म॒ । राध॑से । पु॒ना॒नः । हार्दि॑ । चो॒द॒य॒ । ऋ॒तस्य॑ । योनि॑म् । आ॒ऽसद॑म् ॥
हे सोम पुनानः अभिषूयमाणः हार्दि अभिलषितस्त्वम् इन्द्रस्य राधसे संराधनाय ऋतस्य यज्ञस्य योनिं स्थानम् आसदं यथेन्द्र आसीदति तथेन्द्रं चोदय प्रेरय ॥
“Soma, pure-flowing, desired for the gratification of Indra, do you impel him to sit in the plural ce of sacrifice.”
Soma, as thou art purified, incite to bounty Indra's heart,
To sit in place of sacrifice.
O Soma, rouse the heart of Indra to generosity, as you are being purified to take your seat on the womb of truth.
Des Indra Herz, o Soma, treib gereinigt du zum Schenken an, Zu setzen sich im Schooss des Rechts.
Treib, Soma, des Herrn Indra Herz zur Freigebigkeit an, indem du dich läuterst, um dich in den rechten Schoß zu setzen.

मृ॒जन्ति॑ त्वा॒ दश॒ क्षिपो॑ हि॒न्वन्ति॑ स॒प्त धी॒तय॑: । अनु॒ विप्रा॑ अमादिषुः ॥
मृ॒जन्ति॑ । त्वा॒ । दश॑ । क्षिपः॑ । हि॒न्वन्ति॑ । स॒प्त । धी॒तयः॑ । अनु॑ । विप्राः॑ । अ॒मा॒दि॒षुः॒ ॥
हे सोम त्वा त्वां दश दशसंख्याकाः क्षिपः अङ्गुलयः । ‘ व्रिशः क्षिपः' इत्यङ्गुलिनामसु पाठात्। मृजन्ति परिचरन्ति । सप्त सप्तसंख्याकाः धीतयः होत्रकाश्च त्वा त्वां हिन्वन्ति स्वस्वव्यापारैः प्रीणयन्ति । विप्राः मेधाविनश्च त्वाम् अनु अमादिषुः अनुमादयन्ति ।
“The ten fingers strain you, the seven priests caress you, the worshippers gladden you.”
The ten swift fingers deck thee forth, seven ministers impel thee on:
The sages have rejoiced in thee.
Ten fingers groom you; seven insightful thoughts propel you.
Inspired poets have cheered you on.
Es striegeln die zehn Finger dich, und sieb'n Gebete spornen dich, Es jauchzten dir die Sänger zu.
Es putzen dich die zehn Finger, sieben fromme Gedanken treiben dich zur Eile; die Redekundigen haben dir zugejubelt.
Начищают тебя десять пальцев,
Поторапливают семь молитв.
Вдохновенные (поэты) возликовали (тебе) вслед.
दे॒वेभ्य॑स्त्वा॒ मदा॑य॒ कं सृ॑जा॒नमति॑ मे॒ष्य॑: । सं गोभि॑र्वासयामसि ॥
दे॒वेभ्यः॑ । त्वा॒ । मदा॑य । कम् । सृ॒जा॒नम् । अति॑ । मे॒ष्यः॑ । सम् । गोभिः॑ । वा॒स॒या॒म॒सि॒ ॥
हे सोम मेष्यः अवेर्लोमानि कम् उदकं च अति अभि सृजानं त्वा त्वां देवेभ्यः देवानाम् । विभक्तिव्यत्ययः । मदाय मदार्थं गोभिः गोविकारैः पयोभिः सं वासयामसि संवासयामः ॥ ॥ ३० ॥
“As you stream on the water and the woollen sieve, we wrap you up with milk for the exhilaration of the gods.”
When through the filter thou art poured, we clothe thee with a robe of milk
To be a gladdening draught for Gods.
For the gods, for their exhilaration, you who are surging through the ewes
do we clothe with cows.
Dich, der du strömst durchs Widderfell, umkleiden wir mit Milch der Kuh, Zum Rausche für die Götter dich.
Dich, der für die Götter zum Rausch über die Schafhaare ergossen wird, hüllen wir mit Kuhmilch ein.
Тебя, вылитого сквозь (сито) из овечьей шерсти
Для богов, для опьянения,
Мы одеваем со всех сторон в коровье молоко.
पु॒ना॒नः क॒लशे॒ष्वा वस्त्रा॑ण्यरु॒षो हरि॑: । परि॒ गव्या॑न्यव्यत ॥
पु॒ना॒नः । क॒लशे॑षु । आ । वस्त्रा॑णि । अ॒रु॒षः । हरिः॑ । परि॑ । गव्या॑नि । अ॒व्य॒त॒ ॥
पुनानः पूयमानः कलशेषु कुम्भेषु निषिच्यमानः अरुषः आरोचमानः हरिः हरितवर्णः सोमः गव्यानि दध्यादीनि वस्त्राणि वासांसीव परि अव्यत पर्याच्छादयति ॥
“Purified in the pitchers, radiant and green-tinted, the Soma puts on the raiment derived from the cow.”
When purified within the jars, Soma, brightred and golden-hued,
Hath clothed him with a robe of milk.
Being purified in the tubs, he, tawny and ruddy,
has wrapped himself in garments of cattle.
Gereinigt in den Schalen hat der rothe, goldne sich gehüllt In Kleidung, die der Kuh entstammt.
Sich läuternd hat sich der rötliche Falbe in den Krügen die Kleider der Kuhmilch angelegt.
Очищаемый в кувшинах,
Рыжий, золотистый (бог)
Окутался коровьими одеждами.
म॒घोन॒ आ प॑वस्व नो ज॒हि विश्वा॒ अप॒ द्विष॑: । इन्दो॒ सखा॑य॒मा वि॑श ॥
म॒घोनः॑ । आ । प॒व॒स्व॒ । नः॒ । ज॒हि । विश्वाः॑ । अप॑ । द्विषः॑ । इन्दो॒ इति॑ । सखा॑यम् । आ । वि॒श॒ ॥
हे इन्दो सोम मघोनः धनवतः नः अस्मान् प्रति पवस्व क्षर ।.विश्वाः विश्वान् द्विषः द्वेष्टॄन् अप जहि मारय च । सखायं प्रियमिन्द्रम् आ विश आप्नुहि च ॥
“Flow to us, your wealthy (worshippers); destoy all our enemies; Indu, enter your friend.”
Flow on to us and make us rich. Drive all our enemies away.
O Indu, flow into thy Friend.
Send down the rain from heaven, a stream of opulence from earth. Give us,
O Soma, victory in war.
Attract bounteous patrons for us through your purification. Strike away all hatreds.
O drop, enter your comrade.
O riesle unsern Fürsten zu, und schlage alle Hasser fort, Geh, Indu, ein in deinen Freund.
Bring uns durch deine Läuterung freigebige Gönner herbei, treib alle Feinde hinweg! O Saft, geh in deinen Freund ein!
Доставь нам, очищаясь, щедрых покровителей!
Убей всех ненавистников!
О капля, войди в (своего) друга!
वृ॒ष्टिं दि॒वः परि॑ स्रव द्यु॒म्नं पृ॑थि॒व्या अधि॑ । सहो॑ नः सोम पृ॒त्सु धा॑: ॥
वृ॒ष्टिम् । दि॒वः । परि॑ । स्र॒व॒ । द्यु॒म्नम् । पृ॒थि॒व्याः । अधि॑ । सहः॑ । नः॒ । सो॒म॒ । पृ॒त्ऽसु । धाः॒ ॥
हे सोम त्वं दिवः द्युलोकात् वृष्टिं वर्षं परि स्रव वर्ष । पृथिव्या अधि पृथिव्याम् । अधिः सप्तम्यर्थानुवादः । द्युम्नम् अन्नं चोत्पादयेति शेषः । नः अस्माकं सहः बलं च पृत्सु संग्रामेषु धाः धेहि ॥
“Pour down rain from heaven, and abundance upon the earth; uphold our strength, Soma, in battles.”
वृ॒ष्टिं दि॒वः परि॑ स्रव द्यु॒म्नं पृ॑थि॒व्या अधि॑ ।
सहो॑ नः सोम पृ॒त्सु धाः॑ ॥
Stream rain from heaven and heavenly brilliance from the earth.
Confer strength in battles on us, Soma.
Vom Himmel ströme Regen her und Reichthum von der Erde Grund, In Schlachten, Soma, gib uns Kraft.
Ströme Regen vom Himmel, Herrlichkeit von der Erde her! Gib uns, Soma, die Übermacht in den Kämpfen!
Излей кругом дождь с неба,
Блеск с земли!
Даруй нам, о Сома, силу в сражениях!
नृ॒चक्ष॑सं त्वा व॒यमिन्द्र॑पीतं स्व॒र्विद॑म् । भ॒क्षी॒महि॑ प्र॒जामिष॑म् ॥
नृ॒ऽचक्ष॑सम् । त्वा॒ । व॒यम् । इन्द्र॑ऽपीतम् । स्वः॒ऽविद॑म् । भ॒क्षी॒महि॑ । प्र॒ऽजाम् । इष॑म् ॥
हे सोम नृचक्षसं नृणां द्रष्टारं स्वर्विदं सर्वज्ञम् इन्द्रपीतम् इन्द्रेण पीतं त्वा त्वां पिबन्तः वयं काश्यपासिताः काश्यपदेवला वा प्रजां पुत्रादिकाम् इषम् अन्नं च भक्षीमहि भजेमहि ॥ ॥ ३१ ॥
“(Adoring) you, the contemplator of men, the beverage of Indra and the knower of all things, may we be blessed with progeny and food.”
May we obtain thee, Indra's drink, who viewest men and findest light,
Gain thee, and progeny and food.
Might we have a share in you, drawing the gaze of men, drunk by Indra, finding the sun—
and a share in offspring and refreshment.
Dich Männer schaunden flehen wir, den Indra trinkt, der Glanz verschafft: Lass Kind und Nahrung uns empfahn.
Dich mit dem Herrenauge, den von Indra Getrunkenen, der das Sonnenlicht findet, wollen wir genießen und Nachkommenschaft und Speisesegen empfangen.
Тебя со взглядом героя,
Выпитого Индрой, находящего солнце,
Мы хотим вкусить, (получив) потомство и усладу!
